“I’ll start with the positives: the food was excellent, the drinks and views were awesome, and even the wait wasn’t bad since the chairs were comfortable and you could grab a drink while waiting. That said, this is definitely not the best spot for a relaxing Saturday date night. There were so many unsupervised kids running wild that it completely killed the vibe. Three separate groups let their kids kick and throw dirt until they broke the landscape lights. Another child (maybe 5) spent nearly an hour standing knee-deep in the pond in her sneakers, again with zero supervision. I don’t mind kids being kids, but when they’re totally unsupervised and destroying property while parents just zone out, it’s a whole different level. Add to that kids jumping all over the dock, it was pure chaos.“

“Somewhere Else Tavern along Rte. 127 in Bryantville/Pembroke, Mass. I must say I've been at the building, since 2009 (15 years) when it was "Old School". It was a building then, a bar/restaurant of sorts, but now it is someplace special. Since Lori and Jayson, who also own the "Fork in the Road" delicatessen in Bryantville and the Olde Hitching Post restaurant in Hanson, took over the restaurant and renamed it, it is now a place for excellent food, beverages, and a wonderful, wonderful group of people, their patrons. What makes Somewhere Else truly special is that on almost every night, Jayson, Lori, or Lori's sister, Lee Ann, will be there taking care of their customers..... their friends. This past Sunday, was Lori's birthday and EVERYONE was included to celebrate her birthday, Chinese food (seemingly Lori's favorite), cake and ice cream shared with all. But best of all, was not the food, but the celebration of friendship.... Thank you Lori, Jayson and Lee Ann. For those of you who have not stopped by, do so. Took home enough for breakfast on Sunday. I was not only impressed with the QUALITY of your food...but the service and the atmosphere. I knew that when I stopped by and saw the wait that it would be good. Actually you moved your guests in and we did not even wait 15 minutes. “my 2 friends and I went to Strawberry Fair restaurant yesterday. one friend we hadn't seen in years. we've known each other since we were 12. our hostess and waitress were excellent. we stayed over 2 hours reminiscing. Then when we tried to take a selfie before we left and our waitress came outside and offered to take the picture. it came out great!! I highly recommend this restaurant.The food was delicious!!! “We LOVE Island Creek Oysters!! They are truly the best oysters in the country. We’re picky, self-proclaimed oyster aficionados, and these never, ever disappoint. We have them shipped to our house about once a month, and we recently visited the farm in person. Fabulous! The tour was excellent and informative, and we even got to enjoy beautiful oysters right in Duxbury Bay. An incredible experience all around!“

“Went in tonight for their holiday pop up and so glad we did. We had heard horror stories and then some great reviews and I must say all the horror stories were not true for our visit. We had 4:45 reservations and were seated immediately, it was quite busy but our waitress was over very quickly to take our orders. Food came out fast and the portions were so big. We left stuffed. The holiday decor is fantastic and the drinks for the holidays are so fun! We will be back for sure.“

“Every morning there's a "gentleman" sitting at the counter drinking coffee and playing KENO, rambling on openly about his political leanings. He has maximum opinions with minimal boundaries. Although ill informed he apparently has a strong need to feel like he's right , even if it means raising his voice. Fortunately, because he isn't eating, he's usually gone by 8:30am.... Which is a good thing because the food is top notch and affordable and the staff are great, professional and personable..... Best breakfast in Whitman after 8:30 😎👍 in my opinion...“
