In New England for a brisk spring vacation. I stopped in at Tavern on the Warf for lunch while visiting Plymouth Rock and the surrounding historical sites. Walking in, the hostess was warm and cheerful quickly seating guests. Once seated at my table though, the welcoming service ended. It took 7-10 minutes before a server appeared. All around AMAZING. The service was great our server made sure our food was cooked to perfection and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. Extremely good atmosphere for a 5pm dinner on a Thursday night. Now the food.! The calamari was Perfectly flash fried with just the right amount of crunch along with the cherry peppers giving it the right amount of spice layed on a bed of marinara sauce, was AMAZING. I’ll start off by saying I frequent Tavern, whether for dine in, take out or drinks. I went in yesterday 04/15 for takeout. My go to order is the mexican bowl but let me say I am truly disappointed. Not sure if there’s a new cook or what. It used to have amazing white rice, avocado, sour cream and fresh jalapeños, a good amount of melted cheese.
