“My husband and I went to Bistro Du Midi in Boston. The food and wine were great! My husband had oysters and I had the arugla salad. We hared the Spanish octopus. Best ever, soft and tasty. Also Bouilabaisse Du Midi, fish swimming in a delicious sauce. We were highly impressed with Sommelier Ian Magiros, the wine and beverage director, who made great recommendations to pair our food to delicious wines. We were very impressed with his knowledge and passion he has for the wine as he gave us wine gave us the history of each wine that we tasted. He is a walking encyclopedia. Overall, our experience was an awesome night and will surely go back and recommend Bistro Du Midi to our family and friends.Parking: motor mart“
“Excellent french cuisine. The "filet de boeuf" and "boeuf bourguignon" were excellent and you can believe me (I am French and know very well what french cuisine means)! Service was excellent (very professionnal and very friendly). I recommend this restaurant to everyone“
“I went with my sister who is a regular here and my mom when I was visiting in Boston. The food was honestly really delicious, so quick too when they were very busy. It was overall a great experience!! The service was top notch and they have very great music which sets the mood for a perfect brunch. Highly recommend it 10/10“
“When visiting a French restaurant expectations are high. The food tends to be exquisite and some dishes are here. The Foie Gras is amazing and so are all the deserts we tried. However the escargot which is something I always try at French restaurants was only ok.The service varies on who your server is as we had friends who came to the restaurant after we sat and we ordered before they even got their menus and yet they had their appetizers first. When looking for someone to call for a refill and even when we wanted the menus for desert, it is very difficult to catch anyone looking at your table as if each waiter will only look at their own table only. On the bright side they brought us water as soon as we sat and refilled it often. That is how I would get someone's attention...finish my water so someone could come by and I could ask for something. The place is very small and you will have to be a party of two and be lucky to get a table without a reservation, which is what happened with our friends..who came in a little after we sat and were hoping they could sit with us, but with such little space it seemed unlikely they would even be able to get a table but as they were asking a table for two was leaving. Its rather on the expensive side which can be understood with the quality of some of the dishes, however I would except everything to be great for these prices. Its a good place with potential to be great.“
“It's been awhile since we'd eaten at Elephant Walk and my wife & I realized how much we missed it!The menu is unique, combining French & Cambodian dishes in a very tasty way. We always order the Rouleaux (a variation on a spring roll that you roll yourself) for a starter. Other favorites include Amok Royale & Curry of Shrimp Crevettes. The wine list has a great selection, though it leans a bit pricey. I wouldn't skip dessert; we had a flourless chocolate cake. Service was friendly & pitch-perfect. On-street parking is very easy and it's not a far walk from Back Bay Orange Line station or the Silver Line bus. We won't wait so long to return!“
“Friends and I met up for brunch. I do recommend the Filet-o-Fish which comes with a side of fries. It is sooo good! I love the food portions as well, size is just right.Sauvage Mama Breakfast plate is your full breakfast, while you can skip the avocado toast and opt for something else. One of us is vegetarian and said it did not hit the spot. The atmosphere of the restaurant definitely a Parisian cafe! Brought back memories! Will come back for the food, drinks, and ambiance.“
“We came in for a special occasion and my wife and I left quite happy with our experience. The duck breast, the cocktails, the mood and most of all the service (thank you Kylie W) was top notch. There is also a robust wine selection if that’s more your preference. Recommend for a special date night!“
“We took a friend to Mistral to celebrate his birthday tonight and our waiter, Leni, made the evening so special! He was very attentive but let us set the pace, he was always available to attend to our needs but we never felt rushed. He recognized that we were celebrating a birthday and had a dessert sent to our table, complete with a candle, so that we could celebrate in style. The food and drinks were prepared to perfection, as always, but it was Leni who truly made the night special for us. I highly recommend Mistral for special occasions, as well as weeknight dining (their pizzas are awesome) and highly commend Leni for his superb service.“
“They had a Nowruz celebration thing that we attended. They served this wonderful 4 course meal. It was like the distillation of Persian food. Thy really get the authentic flavors but in new preparations. Like this take on "Ash Reshteh" that was a cold soup with bright herbal flavors and squid rings. Or their "Ab Goosht" was a cross between a smoky burger and a lamb "Mahiche".Such great experience.“
“Rochambeau was a great hidden gem! We loved the atmosphere upstairs at the brassiere. Very French— nice lighting, mini palms, beautiful bar out of the 1920s, large windows, full view of the kitchen behind a glass wall. I’m not sure if we came in thru the “main entrance”, because the street level entry room was virtually empty. But don’t let that throw you.Delicious drinks in small French cocktail glasses. I had “Thief of the Mountain” which was a cross between an Old Fashioned and a Manhattan. Nice wines available by the glass. The food was excellent. We had octopus, lamb, and soup for apps. Then duck, salmon, mussels, and pasta bolognese for dinner. All were delicious! 4 drinks & 4 meals for under $300 (before tip).Highly recommended!“
“I would certainly return to this restaurant. The bread isn't very good with artificial butter but don't let this deter you. Everything (except beef tartare)made up for the bad first impression. Beef bourguignon - 5 stars Filet mignon - 5 stars Tartare de boeuf - 3 stars (didn't come with chips contrary to the description.and was very acidic) Foie gras sautee - 5 stars Cocktails - 4 stars - no better or worse than you typical cocktails Crème brûlée - 5 stars - hard to go wrong here but delicious Service - 5 stars - our waiter was so friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience excellent. Hands down the best service I've had in Boston. I would give him 10 stars if I could“
“It’s been a long time since I last dined here and it was just as amazing as I remember. We loved all of the food here—excellent and of a high caliber. We started with the oysters which were (I think) the best oysters I’ve ever had. They brought out bread afterwards with freshly scooped butter. Might be some of the best rolls and butter I’ve had too. The bread, lightly salted on top, was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The butter, which melts into the bread as you spread it, had notes of honey in it too adding an extra sweetness. Top tier. All of the entrees were stellar, and one thing I loved was how appropriate the portion sizes were. We finished everything and were content without being overly full. The steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection with mashed potatoes. The creamy carbonara was flavorful with the squash. The branzino was also cooked perfectly and came with tasty sides. And lastly the scallops had a great sauce and went well with the mushrooms. We tried the date cake and chocolate soufflé for dessert but it wasn’t anything crazy or over the top. They don’t have a pastry chef.Lastly I’ll comment on the decor as the vibe was quiet and nice with fun pictures hanging around. The back door is also connected to a speakeasy!“
“I’ve dined in a couple of times in 2023 at the bar. It was good then, especially dessert! Haven’t been in yet for this year. Would like to see if anything had changed since the closure of the other Barbara Lynch restaurants, but excited for my next visit!“
“Beautiful place loved the red booths it was nice and modern with classy vibes. The waitress was really friendly and didn’t leave our glasses empty and made sure we were happy. She confirmed the choices we made were great me and my partner had duck a myrtilles was incredible and I had escargot for first time it was great and the dipping sauce. Duck was well cooked and juicy! She had us sold on the bread pudding made in house with the vanilla ice cream.Food was spectacular will be back. Man I Love Aquitaine. And the waitress addressed us by our last names before we left. Great place really made me and my boyfriends week. 5 stars“
“We walked over to this restaurant from a convention next door and were so surprised by how great the place was. During lunch, it wasn’t too crowded and we immediately got seats. Dishes for lunch were 20-30$, but a fantastic size. I had the hot Italian and it was delish- and reasonably priced. Great, calm retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city!“
“Fond memories of this place and its evolution over the years even recalling one dinner when Julia Childs was dining one table over. Great and delightful server. Food was good. Portions good. Delicious drinks and crème brûlée. We were seated in the extension at the back which is my favorite but it is very noisy and could do with some noise dampening. I must admit, our table of three likely were the most raucous.“
“The food and wine was excellent, our waiter made some great suggestions for wine pairings too. I really enjoyed my time here. It can get a little bit loud, but that's to be expected for a smaller venue. I was still able to chat with my friends no issue though.“
“I was here with a work group for dinner. The food was very good but portions were small. The highlight of our dinner was our server Kristen! She was well informed and so friendly. None of us had been to Boston before, and despite being very busy, she took the time to write out a list of things to see and do. Thank you Kristen!“
“Our food was delicious and service was great. When we arrived only two tables were taken but we were walked to a table right next to the bar. Why? The noisiest spot? And there were many quieter and nicer locations available, so we chose one of those. I think that offering one of the better tables in the beginning would be a kinder gesture.“
“Always enjoy a visit to Marseille. We went for Restaurant Week and the food was every bit as good as any other time. The special white wine was an unexpected offering and delicious. Our server was very professional, yet friendly and convivial. At times the noise level can be loud at Marseille, but last night even though it was crowded it was not overly so, thanks in part to there being no pounding music persistently blaring; it was possible to have a conversation without yelling. They are offering a great $2/oyster and frites combo that is terrific! Marseille is becoming one of our new favorite 'go to' restaurants.“
“Great food, friendly and attentive staff, eclectic vibe. I went for brunch and have been for drinks in the evening. The way they have their tables arranged allows for more private conversations and is really more intimate.Vegetarian options: There are a lot of cheese options for proteins in their brunch and have been with vegetarians without any issues. I wasn’t tracking vegan options, though there there is a lot of dairy. It’s French and to be expected.Wheelchair accessibility: It’s a relatively new building, and up to code as of 7-8 years ago. The tables are well spaced, some with lower table options, that can be moved around easily. If making a reservation, let them know and they can adjust more easily. The restrooms are in the basement but there is an elevator and the washrooms are easy to access.“
“Kinda a hidden gem. It's part of the common market But it's in the back. A lot of local/ regulars. Definitely an older crowd (which I like) Can't believe I'm from here, but never been. Price isn't bad, as we all know prices went up. But the 5 star rating is for the food, OMG so good! My husband and I cleaned our plates! And our waitress Deborah was so nice.“
