“This has to be one of my favorite Asian meals that I have had in quite some time. The food was so authentic and delicious. I had a delicious wonton soup and a combo meal with tasty boneless pork spare ribs and lovely shrimp fried rice. My son had seafood chow mein with crispy noodles. Portions were huge; quality was outstanding and service was fine. Can't wait to come back.“

“Shi Miao Dao is a casual Chinese noodle and hot soup spot located right near Wollaston Station, known for its fast service and customizable rice noodle soups. The space is small, clean, and straightforward, with more of a quick dining setup than a full sit-down experience. It feels designed for efficiency, especially for people grabbing a warm bowl of noodles either before or after commuting in the area.
The menu centers around rice noodle soups and mala-style broths, with a build-your-own approach that lets you choose proteins like beef, lamb, or fish fillets. The mala rice noodle soup stands out for its rich, spicy broth that carries a noticeable heat without overpowering the rest of the bowl. The golden soup and other lighter broths offer a more mellow option, while add-ons like crispy wings or fried pork help round out the meal. The noodles themselves have a fresh, soft texture that pairs well with the soups, making the bowls feel comforting and filling.
Service is quick and efficient, with food often arriving shortly after ordering, which matches the restaurant’s “fast noodle” concept. Most of the preparation is streamlined, so dishes are consistent and arrive without much delay. It’s the kind of place where you’re in and out fairly quickly, especially during off-peak hours.
Seating is limited, and the space can feel a bit tight when it gets busy, so it leans more toward a casual dine-in or takeout spot rather than a place to linger for long meals. Despite that, the environment is clean and organized, and the location near public transit makes it very convenient.
Overall, Shi Miao Dao is a solid choice for flavorful rice noodle soups with bold broths and quick service. It works especially well for a fast, satisfying meal near Wollaston, with enough variety in spice levels and toppings to make repeat visits worthwhile.“

“Probably the best Chinese restaurant in quincy area if you want a proper meal with veggies, meat and carbs.
They have such a long menu, and everything looks so delicious.
We had the beef roll. The beef itself is served cool and the roll is crispy and hot, very tasty!
The Sichuan spicy fish is very tender and tasty. The spice level is just right for us.
Although I won’t say it’s all taiwanese dishes, I would love to try again next time.“

“This mazesoba was the best meal my family and I had on our short trip to Massachusetts!! The bowls themselves were gorgeous, and the noodles were perfect to match. The decor of the restaurant is also very beautiful and inviting. The vegan mazesoba is amazing, a must try if you’re in the area and looking for a filling meal!“

“Came early on a Monday, shortly after opening. Greeted promptly, sat immediately, food came out within minutes. Coffee was good, shumai were great, and really enjoyed the broth in the soup. Looking forward to trying some other things in the future!“

“Decided to walk through Allston on a grody, misty afternoon and look for some food. Walked in by chance and at my SO’s insistence that we give it a look. I loved everything about the aesthetic, and enjoyed the soft music playing in the background. Being able to choose the ingredients I wanted - knowing they were organic and that they looked more than delicious raw...that was the absolute best part. The gentleman at the front was supremely helpful and answered any question thrown at him - by anyone in the shop. The price was more than worth the amount of food received, and the care extended to us as guests was wonderful. I absolutely would recommend anyone to give this a try. Don’t hesitate to ask a question, you will definitely get an answer. :)“

“This restaurant was recommended to us. Hand rolled noodles isn’t something you can get in rural Maine. The noodles we delicious. The waitstaff was attentive. The restaurant was clean and lively. They customized a dish for my daughter (no spice) and her dish was just as flavorful considering they omitted items. We tried an assortment of appetizers and main entrees and my only recommendations would be to get a side of rice for a $1 so you can soak up all the delicious sauce and flavors. Even the tea was good. Bathroom was clean. Food was fresh. And try the thousand layers honey cake. I think everyone will find something to like here. If I am ever in Providence, I will 💯 go again.“

“It’s a little spot serving up very big flavors. The beef rib and chili oil noodles were so delicious, and spicy served with chewy wide noodles. I got the lunch special for $20 and it starts at 11:30 to 2:30. All of this food for $20 and it was so good. I would definitely come back to try other things on the menu. For my cold side I got the wood ear mushrooms, and the chicken nuggets, which reminds me of chicken carriage, and it was so crispy so hot when it came out very delicious.“

“The Allston-Brighton food scene continues to grow and thrive. Just that one tiny strip has Habanero’s, Holdfast, Coreanos, and now Gigantic Wonton, plus many businesses and shops, and Brighton Music Hall. Total powerhouse. The folks who work at Gigantic Wonton are very friendly, and the food is wonderful. Great heat on the Sichuan, soup dumplings were great, and the fried dumplings were light and flavorful. Will definitely return.“

All the flavors came together to make a superb bowl of comfort. A shout out to the server, CHUCK, who answered my questions and provided thoughtful recommendations. “We have a new office in Boston. So periodically I drive down from our main office to the Boston location and every time I do, I have resolved to try a new restaurant. This was today’s choice and it was SPECTACULAR! My server was fantastic. The food came out quickly and was insanely good. I didn’t know how big my stir-fried rice cake bowl would be so I ordered the sweet and sour pork loin to go with it. But the rice cake bowl was huge and tasted incredible. Lots of heat, lots of fresh prepared veggies and meat. 10/10 would recommend that dish. The pork tenderloin I tried and 10/10 would recommend it as well. The location is a bit small and that is literally the only nit I can pick. If you’re in this area, get some take out or eat in , you won’t regret it!!“

“I crave this place often. It’s so nice being able to choose whatever veggies, sauces, and other toppings you want. They have tofu and edemame for protein. Just a good spot when you’re craving some noodles and want something with nutrients. Always yummy never had a bad noodle bowl! A go-to lunch or dinner take-out spot! “My husband (who is vegan) and I were in the Boston/Cambridge area for work and selected Base Crave for our first meal out. We met two people from his job and noticed that the place was empty except for us and the staff. That worried me, but after eating, my only thought was “people need to eat here! They don’t know what they’re missing!” The 4 of us ordered vegetarian mo mo (omg - yum!), vegetable samosas, chicken tikka masala (I didn’t try it but was told it was good), Tofu Mushroom stir-fry chilies mild which was okay, probably because we got it mild, Plantain curry (my hubby says fabulous!), plain naan (very good), and the Mushroom Stir-fry Noodles, mild. My husband and I agreed that the best things on the table were the Mo mo and the stir-fry noodles, both had fabulous flavor! We definitely recommend this place and would love to eat there again!“

“Tried this restaurant based on the positive reviews and didn't have high expectations, but found the soup dumplings and noodles surprising good and quite authentic. The soup dumplings had a good amount of liquid inside and the pork was tasty, not dry. The rainbow dumplings all tasted pretty much the same, we couldn't distinguish the different flavors but they tasted very good. The beef noodles had a great flavor and a decent amount of protein and veg. The chili chicken was a bit disappointing however. It was quite dry and wasn't very spicy at all. The chili wontons were very good but again not spicy enough. We enjoyed the jelly dessert, just the right amount of sweetness for after dinner.
The one waiter that was working around 6pm on a Monday night was very efficient. There was some confusion about leaving out peanuts in our dishes but he corrected the problem with the kitchen without hesitation. The restaurant is bright and airy, very clean. Overall, we had a very good dining experience here and will definitely be coming back.“

“Found this place on Google & Pinterest. So glad we gave it a try. The chicken corn soup was sweet and delicious, we had pork and cabbage dumplings, spring rolls, hot tea, fried rice and kimchi. It was all delicious. I don’t use chop sticks so they brought me a fork. Would highly recommend this place it was busy but we don’t have to wait long for a table and they had a steady line of to go orders going out as well.“

“Pleasantly surprised! The place was actually quite busy on a Friday afternoon. First caveat.. if you do not like lamb do not go here. There was a distinct lamb smell in the air because...lamb is really their specialty! We tried a few things.. beef and lamb, and by far the lamb was better. The noodles were the highlight, great texture and unlimited length! My comment makes it kind of funny that the noodles were harder to eat in my stir fry because it was one big noodle. Funny problem to have. Anyways I'll be back to try more stuff!“

“I really like sukiyaki and mentaiko udon, and I always want to try them out, but the portions at their restaurant are too big. The service is also excellent and very attentive. I've seen someone drop their chopsticks, but before I could even react, the staff had already brought new chopsticks over.“

“Healthy and delicious salads and pasta options, combined with fast service even during the lunch rush, make this one of my favorite spots in the Seaport. The staff is always friendly, and Candy is especially amazing. If you are a regular, she will definitely recognize you and greet you with a warm smile while delivering your food.
There is plenty of indoor seating to enjoy your meal, but during the summer, I highly recommend grabbing your lunch and taking the short two minute walk to the ICA stairs. It is a perfect spot to enjoy your food while overlooking the beautiful Seaport waterfront.“

“Nicest waitress of all time and was very understanding. Prices were not outrageous. The chef came out and talked to us which was very nice. He even offered to make us fried ice cream which they only make during slow hours. Overall the food and staff were great, as well as a great Enolma Homes movie on the tv.“

“Lots of appetizer and ramen choices. Popcorn chicken was all tender and juicy. But the yakitori skewers, especially the pork belly, and the chashu in the ramen were a bit dry. Ramen was okay but a bit heavy on the seasoning and not creamy enough. Still a good meal overall. We finished everything.“

“Absolutely incredible! The Fragrant Spicy Beef Offal was easily the highlight of the meal. The offal was unbelievably tender, rich, and fatty in the best way — almost melting in your mouth. Every bite was packed with deep, savory flavor and a fragrant spicy kick that made it impossible to stop eating.
I’ve honestly never had beef offal prepared like this before, and it completely surprised me. An absolute must-try if you’re here. I would come back just for this dish!“

The service was excellent and ambiance minimalist and clean.“

“One of those places you never notice even after passing it a dozen times. Casual noodle spot aimed at the students nearby, but I'd never heard a word about it from friends or colleagues. The dining room was fairly big, yet completely empty when we came in for a quick takeout on a Saturday evening.
The menu was split mostly between noodles and casual Chinese. Not much of it looked convincing, so we skipped the popular stuff and just ordered what we were in the mood for. Most of it was ok at best, but the scallion oil noodles with crispy pork strips were pretty good. The noodles were soaked in a good amount of scallion oil, and the pork strips added a nice textural contrast.
Probably a place I'd have frequented as a student in the neighborhood, but with better casual Chinese and noodle spots in Downtown Boston and Chinatown, I doubt I'll be back.“

“Honestly, I love this place when it first opened! My friend and I became obsessed with the dumplings and literally joked about how we dreamed of them once a month for our shared double date night. Recently, we went back for our monthly date night and the menu has totally changed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still very good. But I beg of you to please bring back the dumplings!“

Food came out quick and was delicious. Price is fair with good portions. We enjoy the food and we will definitely come back when we are nearby. Pardon me for not putting images for dumplings into my review because it was so delicious that we ate all before picture taken . Last but not least tipping is a must for us at 20% .“

“This is one of my top restaurants during my trip to Boston. Their teas were so refreshing and come with a clay pot on top. As for the toast, it had a golden crispy outside with a gooey condensed milk custard inside. 10/10. The meals were large and filling, and this was the juciest chicken leg.“

“This place actually hits the spot. I really recommend crispy pork ribs with garlic sauce. That’s absolutely delicious. The hot and sour is a little too spicy for me but you can ask them to make it a little less next time. It was kinda random because we were just walking around Chinatown and walked past this restaurant. The Empress Chicken is a little too salty for me if I just ate it by itself. Recommend to eat it with white rice. Staff is pretty nice and helpful. The price is really good in this economy. Definitely come back and try other food🤩“
