The friendly man (not sure if he is the owner) took good care of us by providing us plastic aprons in case we stained our shirts, gave me another spoon without me having to ask, and overall provided great service. “There are not that many good restaurants in this food court anymore with pho viet, Kantin, and the Korean place (I don't remember what it was called but their kimbap was great) however this place still had an AMAZING bahn mi. They only offer the cold cut version but please trust me, it is the same satisfying as a bbq pork without it feeling heavy or overly sweet. Their cold cut banh mi is a great size, generous with the pate, fresh, and the bread is the perfect amount of chewy without it being soggy or too stale and stiff. The owners were very nice and gracious too! A great snack to munch on while your grocery shop or wait for the train. It is genuinely so tasty and feels good for your soul. Don't underestimate the cold cut banh mi !!!!!“

“Decent ramen experience with good appetizers.Recently stopped by for a quick ramen meal. This new Allston location seemed like a less frequented outpost compared to their other locations, so the store was almost empty during my visit. For the appetizers, I got the Takoyaki Volcano and the Chicken karaage. The takoyaki dish bursted with flavors – the spicy mayo and scallions provided a tangy kick, while the fried toppings added a pleasing crunch. On the other hand, karaage was slightly underwhelming. While maintaining a juicy interior, it felt short with its batter not achieving a good level of crispiness. The Shio Ramen, a staple in any ramen joint, was also somewhat lackluster. The toppings were satisfactory, but the broth lacked the depth and richness that I was hoping for. While Hokkaido Santouka’s ramen might not top my list, their appetizers, particularly the Takoyaki Volcano, make it a spot worth visiting.“

“Food is pretty consistent here. We always get the pork soup dumplings and it's very juicy inside. The filet fish soup with sour cabbage (has vermicelli noodles underneath) is very light and perfect for a cold night. The pork belly was very tender and flavorful. The Kung pao chicken had a nice kick but not too spicy. Dining area closes at 10pm but take out goes until midnight.Staff is friendly and attentive. Food comes out quick, so if you don't want everything too come out at once, then don't order all at once.“

Right from the moment we walked in, the ambiance set a high expectation with its sleek, modern decor that felt both inviting and upscale. The lighting and music were perfectly set to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for both romantic dinners and family gatherings. The service was impeccable from start to finish. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations that were spot on. It's rare to find a place where the staff is genuinely enthusiastic about their offerings, and this enthusiasm was infectious! Now, onto the star of the show - the food. Fuji at Newton offers an extensive menu that explores the rich flavors of Japanese cuisine with innovative twists that are both creative and delicious. We started with the Gyoza, which were perfectly pan-fried to a delightful crisp on the outside while remaining succulent on the inside. But the real game-changer was the sushi - each piece was a work of art, fresh and flavorful, with the sushi rice seasoned to perfection. The Dragon Roll and the Spicy Tuna Roll were particularly memorable, each bite bursting with freshness and complex flavors that danced on the palate.“

I love uni and ikura, so this hit the spot. The broth/sauce was a dashi flavor. Mixed it all up and was the perfect balance of umami and salty. The coldness of the dish really ensured the integrity of the udon noodles, and they were so perfectly chewy~Sukiyaki Udon (5/5): Hot dish! Tasted like hot pot! “I was drawn in by the Roast Duck Noodle Soup - when I saw it, I knew that would be dinner for the night! Walking into Boston Soup Dumplings on Friday night, the restaurant was pretty full. The whole interior is made up of tables for seating. You have to order using a QR code, which probably makes the food come out faster. Of course I ordered the soup but I was slightly disappointed. The broth didn't have that much flavor and the duck was mostly bone. To be fair, it did mention on the menu that the broth wasn't spicy. I noted that and added some chili oil which definitely kicked it up a notch. The meat that was on the duck was beautifully seasoned - downright delicious! But there was so little of it, I found myself searching through the bone/skin/fat pieces trying to find more meat. Not sure if it was just my bowl or that's the way its served. Overall, it was a good experience and I know they're known for heir dumplings, so maybe I'll try that next time!“

“The dumplings and noodle dishes are soooo good -- super fresh and served piping hot and super juicy and flavorful. That being said, the seating situation is stressful. There are a few tables but no table service -- you order everything through a kiosk and then grab it once the number on your receipt is called. So every time someone begins packing up, others immediately jump in to grab the table because otherwise you'll get your food and have no where to sit. This is definitely not a great spot for a relaxed meal because you will be expected to leave as soon as you finish and probably won't be able to get a table without being competitive and on it as soon as someone else starts packing up. I highly recommend the food here, but either for take-out or to get when it's not a regular meal time and therefore crowded.“

“This was our first time visiting The Bangkok and it will NOT be our last! We decided to be complete fat@$$es — I mean adventurous — and delved into the small plates. If you are a person of small appetite, 1-2 small plates is enough for you (we did not stop there!). For apps/small plates, we shared the veggie crispy rolls and curry roti (fried scallion pancake). The rolls were perfectly crisp without being oily with a healthy side of pickled carrots and radish over lettuce and sweet/sour dipping sauce. The roti was served hot and crispy with a soft lemongrass soup sauce. Amazing! My carnivorous spouse added a small plate of ribs, too; she describes the ribs as “good.” In more elaborate details the curry on top tasted of a savory scallion and red beans that fit nicely with the meat of the ribs that fell from the bones (may the poor cow’s soul rest in peace).Moving onto entrees, I have a habit of testing Thai restaurants with tofu red curry. This was a healthy portion — too much to handle in one sitting — was a New England American (white people) spicy 5:10 after asking for extra spicy, luckily there was chili oil on the tables for additional spice. Anyway, the curry was creamy, not watery and had a beautiful mix of beans, red peppers, bamboo, tofu, pea pods, and chunks of eggplant, plus a side of rice. I would definitely get it again!Partner in murdering Thai food today got khao soi noodle dish that had a light yellow curry spicy (caliente) sauce with noodles, scallion, greens, herbs, vegetables, and a whole freaking chicken leg grass in a lemon grass coconut sauce, which I’m told tasted amazing. Again, God rest that chicken soul. We finished off fat@$$fest with the mango sticky rice. Well, the taste was impeccable with the just perfectly ripen mangoes, I would suggest just slightly more coconut sauce, but keep in mind I am an Asian American, not an Asian Asian. The service was wonderful and each of the people serving us was on top of our table without being overbearing. And the best part was for all of that we spent around $66 without tip. I highly recommend if you are in the Melrose area and really looking for some authentic, delicious Thai food.“

It is the only place I feel confident to try a new dish without feeling bad about the money (in case I don’t like the dish). At about $50-60 for 2 entrees, one sake and tip, this restaurant is a gem. I don’t remember much from the more expensive restaurants I’ve dinned at (aside from how high the bill was). “My second visit to Mecha Noodle Bar was as enjoyable as the first. Initially, I dined at their Seaport location, which was fantastic. This time, I went with friends to the Brookline branch. It's a tad smaller than the Seaport spot but still spacious enough for groups. We only had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes, which was reasonable. Plus, there's a fantastic bookstore nearby where you can pass the time while waiting! We all opted for ramen, and it didn't disappoint in terms of portion size and satisfaction. I went for the spicy miso ramen, which was bursting with flavor. I always add tamago which is aways a great choice; it complemented the dish perfectly. I highly recommend adding an egg to your noodles! For appetizers, we indulged in dumplings, pork baos, and edamame, and they were all incredibly delicious. The pork belly baos, in particular, stood out; the pork belly was incredibly tender. Overall, Mecha Noodle Bar is an excellent choice for a romantic date or a casual meal with friends.“

“I've ordered from here quite a few times, always the same dish, Cashew Chicken. It's always pretty good, but the dish does seem to vary based on the day. Most recently I got it and there were a few chunks of pineapple in it, the dish was overly sweet with no hint of spice to it what-so-ever. Usually there's a bit of chili flavor and a zing of ginger, but this time it just tasted like soy sauce and pineapple juice, a little disappointing. Always quick service and friendly employees when I pick up takeout.Parking: There's some street parking, but you have to pay for it and they do monitor this street regularly and give tickets if you don't pay.Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. Quite a few steps to get into the restaurant.“

“There are a couple of things to get past on your first visit but it's well worth it. Firstly, expect long wait times, as the noodles are boiled freshly in front of you and the bowls are made to order. It's worth the wait. I got the szechuan beef noodle soup and it hit. They have a microwave safe container. I put the leftovers in the fridge and heated it up for dinner. It's the priciest place in the food court but is by far the best. It deserves to be somewhere better. Coming back as we grow into winter and days get colder.Oh yeah, the other thing to get past is that you have to order at Dragon Bowl. Hint: it's the register door next door.“

The gray short rib was so tender and favorful. The winter rose was scrumptious. The Dan Dan noodles was so soft and spicy. The fried rice was good. The rice roll in brown sugar was sweet and soft. It's pricey, but worth every penny. Staff was so helpful and nice. Definitely will be back“

“Went here with some friends yesterday. It was a snowy day, and we were looking for a cozy place to get some nice Chinese food. I was recommended this place by a friend, so decided to give it a try. This place has absolutely amazing Chinese food that tastes homemade. we talked to the owner and she makes the food homemade every day, so nothing is stuck in a freezer for days on end. I think this made an incredible difference and how awesome our food tasted. Service and atmosphere felt like you were in somebody’s home being served food as a guest. Very cozy vibe and attentive service. The only thing is that it is a bit small, and I can’t see it seating more than eight people at a time.Highly recommend Wonton noodle soup was amazing along with their scallion pancake wraps. Honestly, you won’t go wrong with anything on their menu.Food - 17/20Service - 9/10Atmosphere - 6/10Total - 32/40“

“A great thai spot in Dorchester. The ingredients are so fresh. I love that they use white meat chicken in most of the dishes. Sometimes I want to feel a little healthier without the fat from the dark. The best part is the flavors are so good from the sauces that you don't notice. Plus the meats are very tender so you know they were prepped well ahead of cooking. Coconut shrimp were very good. There was too much I wanted to try, including their signature wings. They have a big menu to pick from and out all sound good. Staff is so nice. You order from a kiosk that has pictures too. They text you when it's ready. There are 4 tables inside but it's mainly take out. You can eat inside though if you want. Portion size is huge. It reminds me of one of those Chinese take out places where they stuff the container, only the food here is much better quality. One of the best parts is how much food you're getting for your dollar.“

“This is a very small restaurant so seating is limited.Where i found lacking, was the service and the seating arrangements.I get we were there on a busy sunday night. But for Pho i felt like it took way too long.It was almost 45 mins. With hungry kids it was a little annoying...The other part was the way the door opens to the tables. I was very unconfortable cold during the time we went. The food itself was pretty good. The price was fair. But wasnt a WOW experience overall.Would still recommend to satisfy a PHO craving if in the area.“

“It feels like Hong Kong restaurants are all homemade and not frozen. You can eat shredded radish in radish cake?Shrimp dumplings and siomai are both thin-skinned and elastic with fillings~The beef louvers are very fresh but it takes a long time to chew hahaThe rice rolls are also delicious and the portions are large.Maybe we left the crispy quicksand buns too long before eating them, and the fillings were a bit solid. They were very filling and very filling after eating them. The one that I'm a little bit offended about is the fried taro dumplings. The filling is a bit boring and the taro paste doesn't feel like much seasoning, but it's very crispy. The wait was really long at 11 a.m. on Sunday ? An hour at least. You may have to arrive early to wait for a table on weekends“

“I went with a group of people on St. Patrick's Day, of all days, in Boston, (the fact that it was St. Patrick's Day was an unfortunate coincidence) but it wasn't too crazy! The food was amazing, the udon bowls were gigantic, and my sushi was so fresh and flavorful! In spite of it being a very busy night, the service was quick, efficient, and friendly! Four stars for the atmosphere because it was pretty loud, but considering the circumstances I'm sure that at other times it is a lot more chill. I want to go back, downstairs there is all-you-can-eat hot pot, it smelled so good!!!Highly, highly recommend this place!“
