“Chicken is really really good, way better than KFC, Popeyes, ect. If u never had crown fried chicken I guarantee u will be hooked. For some reason though every location I've been too it does look dirty and run down, but the chicken tastes fresh. U know when chicken is cooked in old oil, this chicken always tastes fresh the Jamaican beef patty is also delicious.“

Sometimes staff ignores you for a while after you walk in even if there's like 6 people working...I get they're busy but they could just say "Hey welcome, we'll be right over" and all is well, so one star off for service. Can't speak to delivery.“

“Birdies Hot Chicken is a locally owned spot that has quietly built one of the stronger reputations for fried chicken in the Boston area, and the tenders are where that reputation is easiest to understand.

The chicken comes out juicy and well crusted, with a batter that stays crispy without being thick or greasy, and the seasoning underneath does more work than most hot chicken spots bother with. The heat is the headline but the flavor is what keeps you coming back, and the two are balanced well enough that even at higher spice levels the chicken still tastes like something rather than just burning.

The spice levels are worth taking seriously. The extra hot is genuinely challenging and rewarding in equal measure if you have the tolerance for it, but the mid-range levels give you enough of the flavor profile to understand what the kitchen is doing without requiring a recovery period afterward.

The seasoned fries are a natural companion and hold up well alongside the tenders, and the sliders are worth knowing about if you want to build out a larger order across a few different formats.

“I’ve been eating here for a long time and generally enjoy the food. The chicken is flavorful, and it’s one of my favorite peri-peri spots. However, there are a few areas that could be improved. The rice and chicken portions are often quite small, and the rice is not always fresh. At the same time, the salad portions tend to be very large compared to the rice. A better balance between the sides and more consistent freshness would make the overall experience even better.“

“Quality was great at this location and our server Jamie gave us amazing service. The spicy hot chicken was perfectly crispy with a satisfying kick of heat. A nice surprise was the honey garlic chicken that the owner Gift recommended, it had an excellent texture and great flavor. The rice cakes were some of the best we've had, especially with the melted cheese, and the fish cakes were a great addition that completed the dish. We'll definitely be back!“

“Had a GREAT meal here with several friends before attending a concert at a nearby venue. The hot chicken was delicious (I went medium spice), and the seasoned fries hit the spot. Ordering was easy with the kiosk, but you could give your order to the clerk behind the counter. The food didn't take long to be brought to our table, and their service was impeccable! It looks like they do a LOT of DoorDash, etc, because every couple minutes a delivery person with a helmet on came by to show their phone and pick up an order.“

“My nonprofit group enjoyed a private party at Tokenfire. The hot appetizers were a great start to the party, with meatballs, pork dumplings, the best brussel sprouts and savory flatbreads. We enjoyed the authentic Shepherds Pie, perfectly grilled salmon, and a vegetarian pasta dish. Dessert, including a fig bread pudding with salted caramel gelato and tiramisu was fabulous. The service was excellent and the ambiance was delightful. I hope to return when they have live music.“

“PHENOMENAL subs. The crispy chicken Caesar sub lives up to its online hype. Perfect ratio of chicken to lettuce to parm to croutons. Not overstuffed / too hard to eat. I have gotten one on seeded sourdough and one on regular bread and definitely prefer the seeded sourdough to add that lovely sesame toasty flavor. And I have drooled over the thought of this sub many times since.

The tenders were so good in the sub I had to try them a la carte, they're juicy hot and BOMB. The French onion sandwich with caramelized onions and beef is fantastic.

Takes about 15-20 min minimum to get your food, but it's made with love and as their wall says, we don't make fast food so please be patient. Staff is always really nice. Absolutely worth a visit! Yet to try their pizza but it looks like thin crispy delicious crust, too.“

Inside its a standard mid-sized local sports bar that I get the sense has a loyal local following. To my surprise food was above average and staff was very very friendly. Full bar, but limited draft selection if your a beer snob this probably isnt your spot.“

I had to try it as soon as I got to the car because the smell was intoxicating. The chicken fingers were hot, crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The Texas toast was buttery and delicious, and the fries paired really well with the famous Cane’s sauce. The food came out fast even though the place was busy.

The atmosphere was lively and fun, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great spot for a quick meal with friends or family. Definitely coming back again! 😋“

Ngl this is the best Ddeok-bokki I’ve ever had. It tastes like how I would cook it at home, creamy, rich, flavorful and cheesy. The portion was big which surprised me and half of it filled me. The rice cakes were big and chewy. It also had boiled egg, cabbage, and fish cakes. I normally don’t like the fish cakes in Ddeok-bokki but this was good!

“I have to say, PuPu has come a long way. For a few years the quality went way down. I would just go to Tahiti even though it was farther away. I would say now how the turntables turn. I think Tahiti is gross now, and PuPu has went above and beyond. Check out my pfp. The food has full rich Chinese flavors, and the portions are huge! After the 3 of us finished, we had enough food leftover for 2 more full meals for us. And we all know leftover Chinese food is the best. Keep it up, Buddy!!“

“We've been a big fan of the amazing food here for a long time. Crispy chicken, excellent flavor options. But the true wow factor is the service. We ordered through Grubhub, and somewhere in the ordering process Grubhub changed our order location to Cambridge. While Grubhub offered absolutely no help in the issue, both the Cambridge and Boylston St locations worked together to transfer the order to the correct location. This ensured we were not double charged and that we still got our food at the time we needed it. We are so grateful, and excited to eat our delicious BBQ chicken!“

“This is a hidden gem. I've passed this restaurant many times and finally tried it today before the dinner crowd started to come in. The interior is larger than it seems from the outside. It's well decorated, clean, and the tables aren't all crowded next to each other. The food was very good as well as pricing. The portions are decent. I read some comments about carnitas but despite the negative comments we tried the carnitas tacos, they were really good and we would definitely recommend them. They have a back room with a bar. I recommend this place for the food, ambiance, and price. The service was good. Waiter and staff are very friendly.“
