“Excellent during coronavirus social distancing. They took my order and payment by phone, took a call when I got there to bring my order outside, and woman who bought out my order was wearing a face mask. Several people were outside waiting to pickup orders, and we were all at least 6 feet away from each other.”

“The food was delicious and experience was mind-blowing. I loved the small plates concept and got to try so many different dishes. Every bite was extremely flavorful and delicious. Za'atar bread was to die for. Staff was EXTREMELY polite!They were also very conscious of allergens and accommodated and offered allergan-free options.Place is a bit small and crowded but nothing too inconvenient.”

“Been here many times. I legit think the French toast here is the best I've ever had (and I have had a lot of French toast). It's so perfectly fried, and there are many delicious topping choices. My favorite I've tried is the seasonal pumpkin one in the fall. Bit of a sweetness overload though, can't finish it all. But hot tip: they do half portions of French toast so you can combine it with something savory. I also like their sandwiches, biscuits, and home fries. Despite a lot of love for their pancakes, I'd say they are just fine. Mixed experiences with service are making me dock a star. Sometimes they are very slow and inattentive. Even with reservations, they sometimes make you wait a good bit for a table. I guess it makes sense since this place is SO busy. Without reservations, the wait on weekends is insane. So def recommend making one or coming on a weekday.”

“Such a unique and special experience and meal. I went in without a reservation and was able to get a seat. Coolest restaurant menu I’ve ever seen, annotated with so much meaning and history behind every ingredient and dish. I ordered two drinks, a main, and a side. Everything was delicious. After eating, I spent some time sipping a drink on the couch/lounge area looking at their books. An immersive cultural experience. I will be back. You can tell this place has so much love and energy behind it.”

The star of the show for me… they walked the dining room w a tray of FRIED CHICKEN…with an amazing taziki…. My husband had been trying to get reservations foreva! So thrilled to try this spot. “One of my favorite places in Boston. Really intimate space, so book a table/seats ahead of time (sometimes up to 2-3 weeks for weekend slots). Sake variety is terrific, and you can sample before purchasing. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and passionate about sake. The food accompanying the sake is a bit of a hit or miss for me though. I would recommend eating before coming.”

“I went for the raving reviews but I found this place perfectly adequate. The cream of wheat was indeed the star of the show. It came quickly and hot, but then it was about a 45-50 minute wait for our mains. We went on a Sunday morning so maybe this is as slammed as they get but I wouldn’t recommend if you are super hungry. It also took about 20 minutes to get a table, but you can put your name on a wait list and they have free coffee outside which is a nice touch. The mains were decent… far from the best breakfast I’ve ever had but it was fine enough. Also heads up if you’re visiting from out of town/out of country it’s cash or venmo only.”

“Absolutely loved it! We had the karami and enmi ramen, and shared the gyoza. We finished every last drop of the ramen and wanted to bathe in the sauce on the gyoza OMG. It was thriving and happening on a Wednesday night, and the waitstaff were lovely and attentive. Will definitely be returning to try more of the menu!”

“The Tall Man and I were looking for a low key hangout with baby in tow, and Distraction Brewing was the perfect place. This new-to-us brewery on the cute pedestrian-only Birch St. had an outdoor patio but we opted for seats inside.It's not a big place, but it has a good number of tables and bench seating in a brightly lit space. The Tall Man got the autumn flight of 4 beers (one being one of their maltinis), which he enjoyed for their variety. I wasn't up for imbibing so I got a Health-Aid kombucha from the fridge. (They also carry Athlete's nonalcoholic beer in cans.) They have some packaged snacks for purchase, but they encourage people to get food from local businesses to eat there. It was pretty darn convenient to pick up lunch from nearby Chilacates. It made for a very chill lunch and sip. We weren't even the only ones with a stroller! It was a relief to find a brewery that's not utterly mobbed and where we could bring the little one. I would definitely come back for another relaxing hangout.”

“The staff at Brassica are so knowledgeable, fun, and friendly. They bump the best playlists, joke with you, discuss taste preferences, honor allergies, and are actually excited to provide a good dining experience. It's truly a neighborhood gem that I want to gatekeep so badly but will not because everyone deserves this level of stellar dining and the team here deserves to succeed! The food is funky with a heavy focus on fermentation along with honing culinary techniques from around the world without trying to put out “Asian food” or “Latin cuisine” or “fusion”, just their own creations. They make spirits in house (turns out I can like vermouth!) and source wines from places most others restaurants don’t dare to cover. It’s where I bring all my visitors if I can snag a table!”

“Decided to go out for dinner with a few friends and it was delicious. I liked the citrus dressing on the avocado salad. The filet mignon was tender and flavorful. For dessert, green tea ice cream is a must!”

“These are extremely delicious empanadas, and you can taste the quality of the dough and fillings. The beef and spinach empanadas (two varieties) are really well seasoned, and they don't skimp on the fillings. The pastry was sturdy and crisp. I got mine at Momma's (freezer section), and freezer to plate is 20 min or less. I'm excited to try their other flavors!”

I bought some croissants and a Demi baguette - it was foolish of me to think I'd wait till I was home to eat the baguette! Worth the visit and can't wait till I'm back! Also can't wait to try the coffee bar next door...”

At the end you'll be invited to share your dreams with other diners (no obligation). The staff will also gently "rate" you on how well you finished your meal (many"good jobs" with a few "perfects" is common). Come here for a humble, filling meal in a communal setting.The ramen: delicious, hearty, and big! Come hungry, especially if you get the 5-piece bowl. The pork is perfectly roasted, and the broth is flavorful though salty. Ask for less salty broth if you prefer. The noodles are fresh and tender and provide a nice chewy bite next to the bean sprouts.Vegetarian options: No vegetarian options.Kid-friendliness: The vibe is casual and kid-friendly. Just make sure they're not a picky eater. There's only one dish on the menu!Wheelchair accessibility: No accessibility. The restaurant is small and accessed only by stairs at the front of the building.”
