“Amazing food with a good veggie and fish selection. The owner is friendly, attentive and has a great sense of humor. He asked us how hot we want the Fish with Chilli, on a scale of 1 to 10, and I said 7 maybe 8... and "I don't mind if my eyes water a bit". After taking our order he came back with some napkins and said "here, in case you start crying". We all laughed. We had also ordered the green beans and they were so tasty. For starter we ordered the sesame bamboo shoots. They were a cold appetizer. Absolutely delicious and crunchy and slightly spicy. When I drank my water I noticed a slight "ting" or numbness on my tongue. A tell-tale sign of Szechuan Pepper. I asked him and he said yeah, they infuse it in the oil or something. Anyway, seriously, do not miss the place. If you're thinking about driving down to Billerica or Burlington to go to Sichuan Gourmet, consider Oxyear. Nothing against those places, but Oxyear is honestly right up there with them in terms of quality, selection, and taste. You will not be disappointed.
Vegetarian options: Like most Chinese restaurants, there are plenty of offerings that are mostly vegetables. We know you can't always assume the vegetable dishes aren't made with any animal products. It's best to ask. We are pescetarian for the most part, and we thought it was a great selection of veggies as well as fish.
Parking: It's the old Vic's which means there are at least 23 parking spots (I counted them from Google Street View) literally next door. No idea why people are saying there is no parking unless maybe they went when it was completely full? In that case, you do have to search a bit for street parking but I have parked in that lot (to go to Vic's and now Oxyear) for 6 years and have never seen that lot more than half full.“

“Small place. We usually order Food TO GO. Been there for quick small plates once. It's nice and clean with few tables inside to sit and eat. It's probably a family business. All their meals are simple and homemade.
I love their egg drop and hot n sour soups. Scallion pancakes are good here and
Egg/veg/chicken fried rice or noodles with double egg is great too. Prices are reasonable.
Service is always fantastic!“

“Not a lot of places you can say you've been going to for over 20 years! We order a ton of food from Mandarin Lowell and it's always delicious. I have a lot of happy memories here. I remember getting little toys and stickers from the cute old fashioned coin op machines that were in the lobby when I was little. There's also usually a dedicated corp of regulars at the bar laughing and having a good time. It adds to the restaurant's charm.“

“This Chinese restaurant is a hidden gem. I like to think of myself as a bit of an egg roll connoisseur, and this restaurant truly has one of the greatest egg rolls in the Middlesex and Essex county. Crispy, delicious, not seaweedy, extremely full. The crab Rangoon was amazingly crispy on the outside and perfectly creamy on the inside. The pork in the pork fried rice tasted moiste and fresh and not dried like it's bean sitting all day, light on the soy sauce so you can add youre own as preference. The beef teriyaki was also moist and tender and didn't get stuck between my teeth like the usual beef teriyaki does.
Based on this order I will be getting Chinese food from this restaurant any time im near it and want some, and I suggest you do too.
My food also probably sat for about 10 minutes before I was able to eat it, and was still fresh tasting“

“This is by far my favorite Chinese Food in Lowell. I’ve tried many places and I feel like the food is always fresh and flavorful compared to other places. Prices are fair with great portions. I have not had a bad food item here and I’ve tried several including the sushi menu.“

“I really enjoy Lu’s Kitchen. My family and I have been coming here for years pre-Covid especially during Covid. I have watched the children that would take our orders. Grow up to be beautiful young ladies. I always enjoyed how they help with the family business and their professionalism, but I have to say, I do miss the mom and Pop Chinese restaurants that remembered your name or have some sense of loyalty and humbleness towards their regular customers who has supported them throughout the years., nope not them. I don’t recall them ever remembering anything about us and we pretty much ordered the same things and are pretty consistent throughout the years ,They don’t acknowledge you as their loyal customers in anyway whether birthdays or just sneaking a little surprise to say thank you and your order nothing it’s not about getting something free. I guess I’m just from the generation of Hey, thank you for supporting Us ever on your birthday anything nothing that does bother me a lot because God knows my family and I friends have spent lots of money and supported Lu’s Kitcchen throughout the years, I just wish they were a little bit warmer and showed some gratitude towards their regular customers of every shade of color . This is a great place to come and get some good Chinese food the professionalism, the cleanliness you will definitely fine here at Lu’s Kitchen. I just wish they could do a little bit better when it comes to the customers who have supported them for years, especially the location in there are multiple multiple restaurants that we could go to, but we come to them..“

“My rating is 1 because our take out order was incorrect. I called to discuss the issue. The hostess said there was nothing she could do. She did not acknowledge the mistakes. She refused to allow me to speak to her supervisor and said she would not give me his name, per his instructions, so I could give feedback and resolve the issue.“

“It's so hard to find doughy pan fried dumplings if you can find them at all but they make them here! & they're bite size! I also like the fried won tons, egg rolls & battered chicken fingers. The service is always kind & pleasant. They have tables set up but I don't believe they have table service & there's no ambiance. But it works if you need to eat there. I always get take out. Remember to order extra duck sauce!“

“I live in MA and this is the closest site to me. Huge shoutout to the staff today at Panda Express. Kevin served me up a delicious amount of food and he was very kind. I had never been to Panda Express before and I will definitely return. The cashier Anju was super sweet and made me laugh. Lastly, I was able to save 20% of a large plate by joining the app (3 entrees, 1 side).“

“New owners here...... really really good! I liked the old place, but check out the new menu! Way more authentic options. Delicious Dan Dan, garlic spinach, hot and sour yam noodles. Nom nom! And they still gladly accommodate my 7 year olds palate with plain steam chicken and veggies. 5 of 5 stars!!!“

“Food was better than most and every review.
I usually spend my dinning reading posted review for kicks.
Let’s just say every negative review was far between lodes of good reviews.
Each one almost points out another external non related reason for a bad review. Entitlement, personas self doubt, personal victim hood. I was in hysterics.“

“My go to Chinese restaurant. When I don't feel like packing lunch for work. These reviews has made me nervous. Because it's been awhile since I ordered out from here. I guess it's a hit or miss. Or yiu just never know what you're going to get. Today I got the szechuan spicy chicken with pork fried rice. It was hot and delicious.“

“Ordered the kung pao chicken lunch here while working in the area. Food was excellent, veggies were super fresh and the sauce was really good. Fried rice was also nice, light and fresh and not too heavy. Also they throw in a soda with the lunch order which was a nice bonus.“

“Their soups are wonderful (and affordable) on a cold day.! Most of their dinner entrees usually include with rice. The lunch and all day combo places are a good value. They usually are willing to upgrade from fried rice to lo mein or add on an extra chicken wing or other appetizer for an reasonable additional charge. Some specials have a soup option instead of an appetizer. Their Beef Chow Fun is wonderful! Dumplings are another good choice! You can eat there. but it is really a take out place as the dining area is not climate controlled very well. Yes, they have had to increase prices to pass on costs to customers several times over the past few years, but the prices have not increased as much as other Chinese Restaurants so it is still affordable..“

“Food is solid every time, any bad reviews here are tough to believe. I’ve been eating here for 20 years. Certainly not fine dining but takeout is fast and consistently good. They have a great chicken wing which is really the test of a Chinese restaurant.“

“Very fancy inside. Slightly on the pricy side but this is one of those you get what you pay for places, so it’s good. Everything from the fresh fish that tasted like it came sea to restaurant, to the veggies that tasted farm fresh to table, everything here was 20 stars. Of course you can’t rate that in reviews, but they’re getting the max 5 star rating from me“
