“I’ve been dying to get my Cuban food fix! Finally got to go for lunch, and I have got to say: The smell of fresh baked bread when you walk in is intoxicating. All of your Puerto Rican and Cuban favourites are here. I got a roast pork sandwich, but the plates going by with chuletas, mofongo, pernil, guisados, yuca, salads, were all freshly prepared. I wanted to try everything each plate looked better than the next. At the counter, pastels and empanadas and desserts were on display to further tempt you. I got a soursop shake, which was an icy drink made with soursop and condensed milk. It was deliciously frosty and sweet (and soursop is good for you too!) I ordered the lechon sandwich which was packed with perfectly roasted juicy pork and I got a side of fries (which could feed 3 people!) my friend got the burger and a mango drink with yuca fries. The burger was fresh ground and hand packed, the yuca fries were crunchy and light. We both got Cuban coffees which were delicious too. Suddenly we weren’t sitting in a cold rainy restaurant, we were basking in the sun in Calle Ocho.☺️ Oh- The service was super friendly and attentive, you can tell they take pride in the food they make, and making their guests feel like family. This is going to be my new go to. Give it a try!“

“Food is always really good, and portions are HUGE. The issue I have had twice now is when I order take out, they take forever to reconfirm the order. The first time they reconfirmed the order 20 minutes after I placed it then I had to wait another 15 minutes.

This second time it's now been over 30 minutes since I placed a takeout order and still no confirmation. And I'll probably end up having to call them and wait another 15 minutes.

* So after my meal I had a surprise voice mail from the manager. They were very apologetic, and also refunded me my meal. It really showed how much the care and value customer service and hospitality. *

“my 2 friends and I went to Strawberry Fair restaurant yesterday. one friend we hadn't seen in years. we've known each other since we were 12. our hostess and waitress were excellent. we stayed over 2 hours reminiscing. Then when we tried to take a selfie before we left and our waitress came outside and offered to take the picture. it came out great!! I highly recommend this restaurant.The food was delicious!!! “DISREGARD THE BAD REVIEWS FOR THESE GUYS! I come in here for multiple bagels a handful of mornings every week and I am never disappointed. The people behind the counter are always doing something, whether that's prepping, cleaning, making orders, what have you. It sucks to see some of the attitudes other reviewers have, I guarantee they were the ones in the wrong. Bagels are always 10/10 and everyone is always super nice. Definitely recommend.“

“We had a wonderful time at Barrell Z House this past Saturday. Our bartender, dressed in Germany garb for Oktoberfest, was so friendly and helpful. We had our little dog Ella with us and was made to feel welcome. Our bartender even brought us a fresh bowl of water for her. We got some delicious sirloin sliders for us and doggie biscuits with PB for Ella from the food truck. My husband and I enjoyed the IPA. We tasted two different types, one more fruity and aroma, the other more hoppy. We’re hop heads and both agreed that the more hoppy one was our fav! They have a nice, shady outdoor area with Adirondack chairs, a great space to soak up the beer and sunshine these early fall days.“
