I've been going to Simard's roast beef since I was a child back in the '70s when it was called Jack in the box. I absolutely love this place! :-)

My favorite menu item is obviously their juicy and tender medium rare roast beef, smothered in James River barbecue sauce. (King size only on an onion roll for me)

They have a very diverse menu. Their tacos are especially awesome! Whenever
I go there, I always order their awesome roast beef and tacos! 😋

The owners and staff are super friendly!
Even though I only go inside for takeout, because I hate eating in restaurants alone, and I think drive-thrus are super lazy and very impersonal, I can't get enough of this place. My 53-year loyalty more than proves that. Yes I'm old!~LOL

“We stumbled upon Half & Half while searching for a place to get breakfast and stopped in with our 2 yo. Very cute interior with a friendly staff and delicious food. My wife absolutely loved her avocado toast with eggs and my breakfast sandwich was perfectly grilled. We ordered chocolate chip pancakes for our son who also chomped on my home fries and fresh fruit from my wife’s plate. The person who waited on us (the owner?) was exceptionally friendly and stopped off to talk through all of the various types of butter on the table (no, seriously, like four different kinds and all equally amazing!). We will definitely be back for lunch — and more butter.“

“I’ve been to Wakefield Roast Beef & Seafood a few times now, and it’s consistently been a great experience. The portion sizes are definitely one of the highlights—you get a generous amount of food for your money, and you never leave feeling like you didn’t get enough. The roast beef is especially good, with tender, flavorful meat and plenty of it.

Everything we’ve tried has been fresh, well prepared, and satisfying. The colors and pics on the wall.. you have to see it!! Everything from Sesame Street, Star Wars, to classic rockers are present on the walls!! The music is the perfect level!! You can talk and have as conversation, but still have background music. Something I have found is not always the case. The staff is unbelievable. I felt like I was a regular that had been going for years! The communication with ordering to hid the staff works senselessly together is an added bonus to this experience. “My hubby is the manager at Antons cleaners next door to liberty and when I come in with him on early days etc etc, I always- I mean ALWAYS people!- get us liberty bell for lunch. It’s the best roast beef sandwich you can find and it’s consistently made the same way so you can expect that high quality with every order honestly. Their online ordering is smooth and simple and they’re super safe upon pickup and following any and every Covid precaution there is! “Jackson’s Kitchen has been a go to spot for us for years. I love that we can get a salmon dinner with rice pilaf and veggies or an awesome sub or burger. The diverse menu has something for everyone! “I had a great conversation with the new owner and what his plans are for this place. Great food and a great place to go for breakfast. I know his plans are to do fresh made pasta and a few other great ideas. He is also revamping the area to more modern looks. It is going to look fantastic. Most of the foods he gets are local sourced. Meaning some are from Vermont. Hey the states here are so close that it does not matter too much. Regardless I would eat here again.“

The restaurant was also over air conditioned, so we asked her to turn it down and she got that done. We both ordered the summer burrito bowl and enjoyed it. My husband also ordered the onion soup that he liked. Overall, the restaurant is bright and I think they are trying very hard to make their patrons happy.“

“My wife and I were in Wakefield to purchase car and when we were finished we realized we had not eaten all day. We found this gem of a diner. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding. I started with the beef stew. it was excellent. It was not to salty, you could tell it was homemade the flavor brought me back to childhood. My wife started with the chicken and rice soup which she said was also fantastic, once again not to salty. I had the hot turkey sandwich with gravy. The gravy was outstanding. My wife had the teriyaki chicken stir-fry which was delicious. We needed the meal by brining home 6 raisin oatmeal cookies. I would highly recommend North Ave. Diner if you are in the area.“
