“Great restaurant. Very casual and delicious food. Great variety of food. My husband and I enjoy the shrimp tacos, chicken quesadillas, guacamole, salads and drinks! So many other tempting items to try. Didn’t have room for Gifford ice cream. Looking forward to returning.“
“No place to eat inside, but everyone in there was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast burrito was banging and the egg sandwich was also bangin, but gotta get it on a bagel. The bagel was toasted to perfection. Good to support small local business, these guys are good.“
“My favorite of the Taco Bar, La Gula and Ixta family. I enjoy the Micheladas, and carne asada quesadillas. Pozole is good and the bowls are also family favorites. All in all, a good place to grab some tacos and a beer! Buen Provecho!Kid-friendliness: Good place for groups and kids!“
“It's a really nice place to go. Had a date with my wife here. Really one of those rare places you love to support. The food is great and the service too. Great option for carry out if you don't want to eat outside. My wife said awesome date ?? ? ?“
“The burritos are great here: fresh ingredients wrapped in a beautiful, almost polished, tortilla.Chilled Jarrito sodas sold here too.I was surprised to find this is a food truck in a quasi-permanent installation near a gas station, but don't let that stop you. And, there is a suitable sit-down space across the street and the Takoma Junction community area including a covered area. One suggestion to the restaurant: add some more sauce options; my personal favorite is chipotle sauce ?“
“Best pupusas ive had here in Md. Great quality. Pupusas came out hot! And fresh. Let me say ive been to various pupuserias like in wheaton, langley park but this one in my opinion topped them off. That said i can only say that for the pupusas. The burrito were ok since they went heavy on the rice.“
“Got one tongue taco and one chorizo taco, both came with chips and salsa.Only that the amount was one tortilla per taco. The picture shows my purchase of $8.50 for the two tacos. The menu shows three tacos per order. You would need to pay for three tacos or $12 for what is shown on the menu. A bit pricey.Other places I would get 3 tortillas per one order of a taco.“
“I got the carne asada entree and my sister got the chicken fajitas. Flavor was definitely there. Expensive compared to other Mexican places in the area and they do not serve alcohol. Overall food stars, not the best Mexican food I have had but pretty darn good.Dietary restrictions: I am gluten free and was able to eat a lot of the items here. Staff was knowledgeable about what had wheat flour. Their homemade corn tortillas have a bit of wheat flour.“
“This is where we need to go! Small business owners who make genuine food from the heart. I had the opportunity to meet the wonderful owner Ruby. She was a gem. And she has a gem that she serves to the community. I appreciated that she gave me a moment to speak while it was slow to share the history of where she came and where her and her team are going. This is a fairly new business, has not been open for more than a year. To everyone in the community far and wide. Whether you're black, Latino, native, blue, orange, or however you identify, it doesn't matter! Come and enjoy this soulful food. She was so welcoming and the warm welcome and how she explained the dishes to me, delivered an experience that I will never forget. I wish her and her team much success ??.Now, into the food -Pupusas (chicken and cheese) -10/10Coleslaw- 9/10 (It's new for me. But I like it. Need to try more.Plantains - 8/10 (Everyone likes plantains different. So I'm sure they'd be a 10/10 if I'd communicated that I like them fried hard.Yuka w/meat and coleslaw- 10/10! Wow! I have never had this dish before but the flavors. The seasoning to perfection.Overall - Maria's is more than pupusas. There's some history, there are always stories, and there is plethora of food. On the weekends, this spot is said to have over 400-600 patrons that come out to enjoy the food, the atmosphere and the service. This business also does catering.(I was not paid for this review. I walked in curiously after being served old food from the sub China shop across the street and had to throw the food away. And Maria's stood out like a bright light into a new dimension. And what wonderful things I got to see. And a beautiful person I got to meet.)“
“Even for non-meat eaters! My office has ordered from Andrea’s in the past and I’ve been hearing about the “best burritos in the world”. I finally got to try one today! I was nervous because, as a vegetarian, I saw that everything on their menu includes meat. I didn’t want to miss out on their burritos, so I took a chance and ordered the California burrito with *no meat*. 6 other people in my office also ordered the same thing, but theirs with meat. I was worried that Andrea’s would see a large order of what looked like identical burritos and put carne asada in mine too. But when the order was ready, there was one burrito carefully labeled “veggie”. I was SO happy and even happier after my first bite. The burrito was DELICIOUS. I can’t wait to try more “vegetarian” food from Andrea’s! Thank you for the amazing food and amazing service.“
“Can't decide between tacos or pupusas? Get both! Elvira's is the spot. Service is quick and the food is authentic. The pupusas were hot and packed nicely, so they traveled well. Others in my party got a bunch of different tacos- carnitas, chicken and a few others and everyone loved them! Will definitely be back.“
