“It's impossible not to compare Don Pollo to other local Peruvian chicken places, like Crisp & Juicy or el Pollo Rico. Because of that there's a high bar set. The chicken is fresh, juicy, and well seasoned, but I'd have preferred a more crispy skin. The black beans and rice lacked flavor, definitely needed salt. The fries were where they lost me. They weren't fresh, weren't seasoned, weren't hot, and worst of all, they were kind of soggy. The sauces were very good. You get a bright green spicy sauce, that seems to be made from fresh peppers, perhaps jalapeño. Then there's a mayo based creamy orange colored sauce. Frankly because the chicken is so well seasoned, I don't think it needs sauce, but it's nice to have the option.“

“Very satisfied on my first visit to Ellie Bird. We came for Brunch for my wife’s birthday. The staff were all very attentive and many wished her a happy birthday as they welcomed us in, which often gets overlooked at other restaurants, but it made her morning feel so much more special. It may seem like a small notion, but it was a touching detail to our initial visit. The brunch menu is small but packed with flavors and meaningful dishes. We love this and wish we could try it all. We decided to start with the PB&J French toast as a shared app. It’s an entree item, but upon hearing how much the owner loves this item we had to try it out. We also ordered the Pineapple Bun sliders and Tornado omelette. For us the trio of entrees was the perfect blend of savory, sweet, and salty, hitting all the right notes. Also highly recommend the Ellie Bird Latte. Glad we came, we will be back for more!“

This is the only place that truly captures the taste of the chicken I used to enjoy back home. Family kebob our new go to for Indian.This is a small place with a few table and chairs and a small parking lot (free). The employees are extremely nice, talkative, and provided excellent service. The food was made to order and piping hot and fresh.My wife and I had: lamb kebob, lamb curry, and a side of their spinach. The spinach was amazing. I like that it is tasty but doesn’t have cream, which is typical. Very good.The lamb kebob is a huge serving and was the best dish there that we had. Followed by the lamb curry, which was also top-notch. I also liked their chickpea casserole. I would give the food a 10 out of 10.I would recommend maybe sprucing up the inside a little bit so that it would be more accommodating to people eating in, but this is definitely our go to moving forward and great for takeout.We paid about 47 bucks with a tip and had significantly leftovers. “I recently ordered through Postmates from this location for delivery. I got the spring rolls, mango sticky rice, and curry puffs.

The spring rolls were really good, they had I think glass noodles along with the veggies inside. They are quite small so they give you 4 of them.

The curry puffs are an item I have gotten from multiple restaurants and theirs were on the small size but they give you 3 instead of the usual 2. They were a bunch more spicy compared to others and it was too spicy for my liking. This is the only time I haven't finished an order of curry puffs due to taste. The cucumber-vinegar sauce also wasn't very good. It wasn't vinegary enough, basically tasted watered down and this is a crucial part of the dish, so I was a bit disappointed.

The mango stick rice was incredibly good! The mango was perfectly fresh and ripe! They give you a decent portion of sticky rice with coconut and such on top. If for no other reason I'll be ordering from them again just to get more of this and to try other dishes!

A suggestion: one thing that would improve my experience and enjoyment is if the store had a sweet plum type sauce that wasn't spicy that was made in the restaurant with good natural ingredients. Many of the prepackaged sauces have ingredients I'm unable to eat due to food allergies. I would pay more, and order more often if I really liked the sauce. One example in the market is Chipotle makes their Polynesian sauce that I buy in the large bottles because it's the only sweet and sour type sauce I can eat and use it for all stores nuggets because they make it themselves without all the artificial ingredients. I also order coconut shrimp from red lobster as opposed to other places because I love their pina colada sauce.... just a thought. There are a lot of us who can't eat the artificial stuff. Msg is another one that commonly is a problem for those with migraine and it would be great if you had a good alternative. I think restaurants underestimate the value of a good sauce from scratch.“
