“Hubby and I stopped here before going to the movies as we got to the mall fairly late. Luckily these guys were still open as everyone else in the food court had already closed up shop. We ended up getting 2 pieces dark chicken and fries with mo’s sauce and their garlic sauce. The chicken was actually really juicy and the sauce were good the garlic sauce is very garlic with I love but if that’s not ur jam get then might want to stand clear.“
“Ellie Bird has been on our list to try since they opened. Like their sister restaurant Rooster & Owl, the menu is both refined and rustic, with an emphasis on small plates great for sharing. We went for dinner and ordered the bread basket, spring green salad, Vietnamese french onion soup, salted cod rangoons, pomelo larb, braised lamb shank and chocolate cake. The pineapple buns are a carry over from Rooster & Owl that I’d happily eat with every meal. The Vietnamese french soup is aptly named, a wonderful combination of richly aromatic braised oxtail broth reminiscent of a fabulous pho with the oniony, cheesy, crouton goodness of a classic french onion. The rangoons are a perfect execution of an American Thai staple and the pomelo larb burst with flavor. The lamb shank, expertly cooked and glazed, was easily split between the two of us and sat on a bed of herbaceous tabouleh.A delay in getting us to our seats at the chefs counter resulted in several comped plates throughout the meal and we were very grateful for the above and beyond. The asparagus and pine berry salad added to our starter course was a true delight, who knew they were such a good pair!I’ll be interested to see how the restaurant continues to evolve. While Rooster & Owl remains our go-to for special occasions, we will absolutely come back to Ellie Bird with friends and family in tow and certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal.“

I asked if it was mayo based, and was told no. I really dislike mayo, and it was slathered all over the patty. Even after wiping it off, it was too much.The fries are somewhere between a small and a medium, a couple more would've been appreciated.The pickles are really thick, but you only get two on your sandwich. A 50% thinner cut with an extra pickle or two would've gone a long way on getting the taste on every biteI'll definitely go back, but will probably try the Chicken Waffles instead of the sandwich. I don't like coleslaw or mayo, which seemed to be the big draw for the sandwich.“

This is also a brand new location in Alexandria / Annandale area off of Little River Turnpike and we have to say first impressions WE LOVED THE INSIDE of the restaurant it new, it live, it's interesting and even put some of our favorite DC skyline in there too! This is a new building in the area and it was easy to get to and into the parking lot too! Getting your order in is easy as the have two digital kiosk's to place your order with an easy to navigate digital menu, they accept all forms of payment from Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, CC and debit cards. We were able to navigate the while menu and place our order in about 5-6 minutes since it was our first time we think that was great! Now the food first impressions IT SMELLS AMAZING! Like fresh fried chicken and the spices are WOW top it off with a lot of flavor. My wife and I got the 24 piece with in mild and lemon pepper, funnel fries, fries and fried okra! This was a great combination of flavors and WOW the mild has a lot of zing to it! Nice and spicy and IT CAN GET HOTTER they have a lot of levels of spice to offer from ghost pepper, habanero, hot and even down to just a bell pepper level hot. It is definitely a wide choice of flavors! The funnel fries are WOW just like funnel cake! Delicious and crispy for sure the season fries and fried okra is a great compliment to the chicken and they even give a little bit of sauces to go with the chicken DEFINITELY use the sauce to cover the chicken it is worth it! “Spin Pollo is absolutely one of the best pollo a la brasa I had in the Us. I was incredibly wowed because the place is very little but they serve really good pollo a la brasa. Chicken is juicy, well prepared, potatoes are just like in Perú, cut, fresh, fried there not industrialized potatoes, sauces are good. Even one time my husband brought me chicken from falls church to Miami and the chicken was impecable. Love this place!“

We order online through their website via Toast and earn points for each transaction. We frequent enough that we've earned many points. We always take it to go because the place is quite small and has very limited seating. It's built to be more of a grab-and-go than a sit-and-dine. But the service is excellent and the food is nom.“
