“When indecisive, go for the chefs table which includes all of the apps but also an extra tasting per course. Aside from the food which was near perfect, the ambiance is very unique outside dining in a semi enclosed courtyard, railyard bar, and dining in a lodge-like room with fireplace. Some of my favorite dishes were the veggies, surprising because I'm more of a meat eater. Cocktails were excellent but do ask the bartender since not all liquor is documented. Wine list is extensive“
“Zaytinya…wow what can I say about this INCREDIBLE place? I want to start off by saying that I am allergic to all nuts (except peanuts), tahini, and I’m also vegetarian. This itself makes me stray from ALL Mediterranean places because most of their dishes have these things in them, and let me tell you before you tell me, I am missing out on some good stuff! My group of 14 & I dined here recently on Saturday, April 13th on the top floor. My friend called ahead for a large group & had the menu picked out in advance. My birthday was just a few days before so he also mentioned that to the restaurant & they added it to our personal menus! What a sweet & personable touch! To make it easier on our waiter, we split the table up by vegans/vegetarians on 1 side & meat-eaters on 1 side. By the way, BIG SHOUT OUT to our server, Elvis!! He somehow remembered everyone’s allergies & dietary restrictions and remembered whose drinks go where if someone switched their seats briefly. Elvis, I don’t know what to tell you, other than that you made my dining experience at a restaurant where I normally am not able to eat anything, so memorable that I will literally never forget it. He brought out dishes that accommodated everyone, and then if a vegetarian dish had tahini or pine nuts in it, he would bring me the same dish without it. This was for ALL courses, from the appetizers to dinner and even to dessert! I seriously cried happy tears on the inside!Anyways, everything here was absolutely fantastic. I’m still dreaming of so many dishes - the labneh, toum, the bread, fattoush, crispy Brussels, mujadara, and more. While it was mine & my husband’s first time dining here, a few others have dined here before and have raved about it. I can definitely say, that I am another happy & raving guest and will be recommending this restaurant for years to come. Can’t WAIT to be back!“
“First time in this Greek restaurant in Alexandria. On recommendation, we went to this restaurant for the Easter meal.Well decorated restaurant, welcoming and helpful staff. For this special day, there was of course lamb (which was cooking on the barbecue on the terrace!!).The meal was very good. The wines too, with the advice of the waiter. There was also music, it was a very nice atmosphere.A very nice restaurant where we are comfortable and we eat well.To do without hesitation!(Lunch meal on March 31)“
“Came here for dinner and was very impressed. Everything was fantastic. The atmosphere is cozy and not too noisy. The service was great, and the timing was appropriate. All of the food was prepared well and tasted great. I had the Kabobs, which were tender and juicy, and there was plenty leftover to box up. I definitely recommend coming here if you haven't already.“
“Loved this spot for a late-night friend reunion! The location is convenient to walk or take wmata to and there's lots of indoor seating + some tables outside as well!I visited DC from out of town and wanted to find somewhere with 1) fresh food options and 2) vegetarian options for my company. The food at Zorba's fit perfectly! Customizable options and very kind staff made ordering easy. The food felt really nourishing and tasted delicious on a cold, windy night. I liked how the falafel was firm on the outside while soft and lush on the inside.I live several hours away but my organization is based in DC. I enjoyed the food and service so much that I'd consider catering for the office from them!Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options from falafel to sides to vegetarian platters.Dietary restrictions: ask staff before ordering if you have dietary restrictionsParking: parking is always hardKid-friendliness: kids can eat here, it's casual and would be okay for family diningWheelchair accessibility: this is in an old building so wheelchair access to most of it is difficult“
“I really like this place for a breakfast meal on the way to work. It's small and not much room inside when busy. Bench top seating along the front windows and maybe one or two outside tables during the nice seasons. Service has been amazing over the several months I've worked in the area.“
“Iconic carry out with terrific Greek food. A downtown DC institution and deservedly so. Spanakopita and lamb are always delicious. One tiny downside: no time to ponder what you want to order — there can be long lines and the owners keep things moving. Take a look at the online menu beforehand.“
“We stopped in here for a quick dinner while staying at a hotel nearby. The restaurant is small, but cozy and it was very easy to order. We had a spread sampler with tyrokafteri, taramosalata, and tzatziki and pita and it was very good! It's not often you can find taramosalata, so that was a nice bonus to find that. We also got a horiatiki with pork souvlaki and the salad and pork were delicious. The only downside was that the olives were sweet, which is something my wife and I have never seen before, especially not at a Greek restaurant. Olives aside, it's a good restaurant and one that we would visit again if in the area.“
“We made a reservation for 5 PM but they did not hold/reserve a table for us. The place is small and they did the best they could, but there is really only one large table. It was a disappointing since we were in time and made the reservation far in advance online and even called the restaurant to make sure they had our reservation. The table service and food were good.“
“In town for a surgery and took a chance and boy was I blown away by the hospitality. I'm Italian and it reminded me of home, the owner was so welcoming and nice. Now let's get down to the food.. it was AMAZING Greek food everything tasted fresh and delicious. Rice pudding (a family recipe) was the icing on the cake great way to end an outstanding meal.Must try!“
“While driving N to Alexandria from Stingray Pt, VA via 301 Bridge and on Indian Head Hwy, got hungry and used Google to find us a place to stop and eat.WOW!Great food. Cream of Crab soup had a very rich flavor and lots of Crab and more. My wife's onion rings, made on site were equally superb.I had the 8 oz Cheeseburger with bacon, lettuce, tomato.Huge and top of the line beef, one of the best I have had in years. And, only $9.00!For our frequent trips back and forth , we will ensure that a portion of our trip is on Indian Head Hwy and not on I 95, so we can stop and eat at Charlie's, or call ahead and takeout.“
“Original location of Perfect Pita chain and has a local vibe that cannot be replicated with small, cozy vibe to store that offers no seating. Breakfast pitas are the sneaky underrated offering of the store along with excellent stuffed grape leaves, hummus, rice pudding, and always fresh pita bread for sandwiches/“
“The lady behind the counter was super sweet. Great variety of offerings on the menu and very reasonable pricing. My coworkers sub was dripping with cheese. I think they might have forgot my cheese, but it still tasted great. I'll be back again soon!“
