“When I first moved to Capitol Heights, I assumed that I would have to travel far for vegetarian/vegan food or make it myself. And how surprised was I that there was a vegan restaurant down the road! Each day the menu changes, so you could have a favorite every day of the week. And the portions! You can make SEVERAL meals out of one dinner. Is it cheap? NOPE! But something that's good for your body AND soul shouldn't be.“

“So, I'm typically not a food person here but their Acai bowls and their Mixed Berry Bowl i definitely love.

The fruit is fresh, the berries are not bitter and I like that when you ask for Granola and honey, they tend to do a generous amount of it.

My favorite is the mixed berry bowl but sub the strawberries for mangos. I definitely enjoy my bowls better with mangos over strawberries. Just a personal preference but overall customer service was good, the wait time isn't that long and the staff is helpful when subbing items out.

The location is great and there is plenty of parking here.“

“OMG! My favorite place for juice, smoothies, avocado toast and acai bowls now has SOUP! Just had their potato squash soup, and it was better than my homemade soup (which is also delicious). Will be visiting often this winter for soup, cappuccino and "stay away cold and flu" juices. Sooo happy to have healthy options close-by!“

Parking is horrible, but that’s to be expected in Union market. there were a lot of people doing work on their laptops but other than that, there was a pretty good amount of space to be seated if you could find it.“

“There is a reason I've been a regular for a little over a year. When I first encountered this location, I was absolutely satisfied. The food and food presentation was exceptional; THE MATCHA BOWL WITH PEANUT DRIZZLE IS FIRE!!! The lovely ladies that work in the front are so sweet and always welcome me, regardless of being a regular. The atmosphere is clean and clear, I spend most of my remote-academic work in the location. “Stopped in for a quick and lite lunch around 1 p.m. and had next to no wait. I ordered the Fig & Prosciutto toast as well as the Tropi-Kale smoothie. The smoothie was excellent, and the large size is a great value over the medium - $9.99 for a smoothie, but that is in line with Tropical Smoothie and other places that offer similar products. The toast was fairly disappointing though, for $9.49 the piece of toast was much smaller than anticipated. I believe it was sourdough but the size of the toast was maybe 1/3 smaller than anticipated and for the price I would have opted for another menu item. As far as taste goes, the prosciutto was decent but the fig jam was disappointing. I will be back for the smoothie but I will avoid toast items in the future.“

“My father and I come in often. The customer service is always top tier. I’m not sure if this guy is the manager, but Tayron memorizes our order and greets us by name every visit. He doesn’t realize how helpful it is because my dad is losing his memory. He loves his job and sets the tone for all the other staff. So grateful he deserves all the kudos.“

“Walking by on a warm summer's night and decided to try this, rather than ice cream, which also is available near by. VERY glad I tried the smoothy instead. At the employee's suggestion, I tried one with strawberry, pineapple and other flavors. It was delicious. Not sure about the calories but I was walking a lot that night so hopefully I burned off at least some of them. Anyway, I strongly recommend this for a snack or dessert.“

“I almost don't want to review it for fear of this hidden gem being overtaken by hype and becoming packed. However, it would be a disservice to not support the good people at Amen Cafe, so I will. This quaint, lowkey spot, tucked in the corner of Georgia Avenue and easy to walk by, is a MUST visit. The hospitality is unlike most cafes. They're attentive, kind, and make you feel secure in a home away from home feel. The Ethiopian coffee is some of the richest and boldest in the city, and if you want a huge wake up, get the ginger coffee. The fresh juice is refreshing and revitalizing, and always hits the spot. The pastries and sandwiches are solid as well, but by far if you're going to visit, get the Ful or Ful special, its a beautiful, rich spread that is my personal go to. I didn't even know I liked ful and now I'm hooked. I tried other cafes, no one in the city makes better ful than here. So yeah, I love my cafe, I hope it never leaves. Ameseghnalew“

From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with genuine smiles and a welcoming attitude. They were super helpful, answering all my questions about the different smoothies and making great recommendations based on what I was looking for.
I ended up going with the Island Impact smoothie, and it was blended to absolute perfection—fresh, flavorful, and refreshing. What made the experience even better was how fast and efficiently everything was handled. Even though there were a few customers ahead of me, my order was ready in no time.
