“FABULOUS!! Probably one of the best meals for delicious food I have had in the USA in the 10 months since moving to NYC from London. I was in Bethesda with friends for a wedding, and we were recommended to come to Persimmons for dinner- it was amazing. Our starter of raw tuna and avacado was divine. My crab cakes were real Maryland crab. The scallop were delicious, and the halibut lightly baked and firm. Highly recommend. And the service was exemplary.“

“I have been coming to this restaurant for 20 years. It is charming, very dog friendly on their beautiful patio , reasonably priced and delicious!! Tonight we ordered the take out Valentines menu (my husband has a broken ankle) and it was delicious! We have ordered many of their “comfort meals” during Covid and all were very tasty and very generous. My husband is 5’10” and a former football player and I honestly think their meals for two Could feed three! We are so happy to have this great restaurant in our neighborhood.“

My back ground is culinary/hospitality industry and was so impressed by service and also food quality.. His family and my family celebrated our special occasions every year. Now, we are coming back here again on August 27th to celebrate his 68th wedding anniversary and their 90years birthday also. This is his wife's pick and I and he are excited for next week event.“

“We went to the restaurant down at the wharf….. To start, the hostess at the front was on her phone and not really paying any mind to the people walking in the door. Come to find out after that was the floor manager. Then we get sat and none of the workers talk about who is in charge of that section. We did. It get me is or silverware. The very nice bartender comes up, gets us some water and menus gets us started and finally the sever comes over to us. The server took our order and checked on us twice. When the food was brought to the table we still didn’t have silverware and had to ask the food runner. Our server had a a ten top when we arrived and she was checking on her the whole time not paying any mind to the other tables she has. It was to the point I had to go up to someone ask for water refill bc both our glasses were empty. We finish our meals that were very good and no one but the bartenders are on the floor. I see our sever walk over to the restroom, she comes out looks at us and sees that we are sitting doing nothing, then walks over to a new 10 top and disappears. It’s at thing point I now have to walk over to the bartender and get our check and they are the ones that cash us out. Thank you to the bartender that took care of us“

She does not speak any English but the server had no issue explaining everything in Spanish for her, I also let the manager know it was her birthday and I was surprised she spoke Spanish! She assured us everything was going to be great and even came over and had a wonderful chat with my mother and us all in Spanish I really appreciated all this! I was worried we wouldn't be able to celebrate fully but we had a wonderful time! Steak was great and we all absolutely loved the ‘surpise' of the restaurant, sauce was a family favorite. “We were looking for a place to eat while we were in Keyser, which there really isn't a good sit down restaurant in town. We settled on the Chat & Chew across the bridge in MD. The place was really busy, but we were seated right away. It took several minutes until our server came with menus. She was very pleasant and had a good sense of humor. I asked how sweet the tea is, and she brought me a "sample" to taste. I did not think it was sweet, so settled on water. I ordered the Italian Sampler, which was one of the specials: Lasagna, meatballs, and Fettuccine Alfredo. The portions were large and it tasted great. The only issue was the food was luke warm. Our server took it right back & heated it up. Overall, a very pleasant dining experience.“

What it lacks in ambience is quickly forgotten once you bite into their cheeseburger. I hope this place never changes. It’s a throwback to the 80’s with the old menu boards still on the wall. You expect the Stranger Things crew to come hang here.“
