“After moving from Florida I have been tirelessly searching for a good taco place in Maryland. I was so happy to find Tacos A La Madre! When you go inside it is very under decorated, but clean and they have a good sense of branding with their black and yellow color scheme. The tacos are amazing, flavorful, and consistent every time I go. The ingredients taste fresh. If I had to choose a favorite, it would be the shrimp tacos and the birria tacos! 🌮 This is our new go-to taco place. You have to go- you won’t be disappointed.“

“While visiting UMD, my daughter and I wanted some ice cream and decided to try Class 520, Location is great, very close to campus. We both ordered bubble tea and ice cream , everything was awesome. Portions are large. Prices are good, service was very nice. Will definitely return.“

“Store layout is great! Would be a really good hangout place if no covid to worry about. Their "cold signature milk tea" is the HK style tea and different than the other bubble tea you had. Highly recommend the "curry fish ball" and their egg waffle (we had the classic style). Will definitely visit again!“

“We're staying in the area for work, and we stopped here for dinner. All I can say is that the coconut soup is the best you'll ever try. It's absolutely amazing. “First visit; I went for Restaurant Week. I ordered the chicken corn chowder, the short rib ravioli and the caramel cheesecake. The chowder was excellent, a great balance of corn and chicken and a goodly amount--but not too much--pepper. I loved it...and a very generous portion! The ravioli was super too--cooked to perfection, stuffed to capacity with cheese, accompanied by a nice hunk of well-seasoned and -cooked short rib. I wasn't able to finish it, so I took some home. I took the cheesecake home too and ate it after a couple of conf calls. Just the right amount of caramel with a couple of strawberries and a creme Anglaise sauce. Scrumptious!! I don't remember many occasions when I've loved all three courses of a meal, but that was certainly the case tonight. I can't wait to go back.“

The menu is somewhat like a tapas place in that the portions are fairly small and if you go hungry, you may need to order more than one. “This is a good restaurant for having Vegetarian food. If you are reading this, I'd strongly recommend trying them. I liked the ambience, service and the food quality. They were welcoming and responsive. I couldn't tip them as I was in a rush, doing my bit by writing here.“

“If you’re a quiche lover, go here—seriously. I had the bacon and pimento quiche, and it was incredible. Perfectly balanced, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the visit. The café itself is absolutely charming—quaint and beautiful both outside and in.

That said, the vibe was a little off. I sat at one of the tables, and because of the woven design, it was pretty dirty—which was surprising and disappointing since they had just opened for the day. It kind of broke the magic of the space.

They were playing “Tell Me Something Good,” and mid-song, it got switched to something way more drab. It felt symbolic of the whole experience: everything looks and sounds great at first, but a closer look reveals something less inviting. It didn’t feel like a place meant for people to linger or settle in.

Still, I’d go back for that quiche alone. Maybe the vibe will shift with time, but for now—it’s more of a grab-and-go kind of spot, not one I’d stay and soak in.“

“Loved eating here. The restaurant smelled faintly of incense, which was a welcome ambiance. Tables are layed out well so it doesn't feel cramped. The space is nice and bright with beautiful decor. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Service was fast and the food was absolutely delicious! Loved every single thing I ordered:

Sheer chai — this tea had a nice balance of milk and sugar

Mantoo classic — these beef dumplings were full of flavor and served at the right temperature, hot but not too much to burn your mouth

Lamb shank — the sauce was packed with flavor and the meat fell off the bones. It came with rice that was a lovely buttery complement to the lamb

Sheer berenj — had this for dessert and it was very refreshing. It's not milky and the pistachios on top added a nice nutty flavor to the rice pudding

Green tea with cardamom — nice way to end dinner“

“I had the pleasure of visiting Minya’s, and it was fantastic! The pizza was absolutely delicious – the crust was perfectly crispy, the toppings fresh, and the cheese melted just right. Whether you’re a fan of classic pizza or looking for something more creative, they have a wide variety of options to choose from. My favorite is definitely the Derho pizza, love the Eritrean fusion of it all!

The service was fast and friendly, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great dining experience. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both a casual meal or a night out with friends.

Highly recommend Minya’s if you’re craving some of the best pizza in town! I’ll definitely be coming back.

No space inside to eat so be prepared to eat it outside, we didn’t mind since it was beautiful out but check the weather prior to arriving. I would come back if I am close by but I wouldn’t take an uber 25 minutes for a bagel here.“

“Closest thing to authentic Texas style bbq in the DMV area. I had the opportunity to try most of the menu. Here’s what I ate.

•Smoked Spicy Sausage- Good. spice hits afterwards.
•Smoked sausage- nice hickory flavored.
•Prime Brisket- moist! Simple seasoning. Nice smoke ring and very tender.
•Spare Ribs- the seasoning makes it flavorful. Tender.
•Dino Ribs- Massive! This can be a meal by itself.
•Smoked Turkey- Tender and juicy. Bland in flavor.
•Mac & Cheese- I had low expectations but they beyond exceed them. Nice, creamy, cheesy and seasoned well.
•Brisket Beans- This has a kick to it due to the jalapeños. Too soupy for my liking.
•Roasted Veggies (red onion, Brussels sprouts, tomatoes) - Good.
•Potato Salad (mustard based)- Heavy mustard taste but it’s advertised as mustard based. Lack spices.
•Cornbread- good
•Smoked Cheese Ball- Interesting concept. Not bad.
•Banana Pudding- Good.

4.4 out 5 stars. Amazing customer service for a casual dining experience. Staff checks in frequently with diners to ensure they’re enjoying the meal.

Vegetarian options: Roasted veggies maybe the only thing close to vegetarian to vegan.

Kid-friendliness: Yes. Infants to adolescents are welcome here.

Wheelchair accessibility: Limited. Easy for outdoor dining but indoor dining is tight for wheelchair access and the picnic tables and hightop tables make it hard for individuals to dine at.“

“This place does not disappoint! The matcha bubble tea I ordered was one of the best bubble teas I have ever had. It was creamy and the perfect amount of sweetness and tapioca pearls. Also, the strawberry tiramisu was of this world! It was so light and perfectly balanced that I quickly ate it all up. The prices are also reasonable and the owners are very nice and patient. I will definitely be going back!“
