“My go to brunch spot in DCUnconventional Diner is one of those places you keep coming back to because the food is quality. The pancakes are some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had in my life. The staff is always attentive and service is always great. Every time a family member comes into town this is one of the places I take them to and they love it! The food is also well priced for the portions and what you pay. Unconventional Diner will always have a special place in my heart. If you’re thinking about coming here please do, you won’t be disappointed!“
“When indecisive, go for the chefs table which includes all of the apps but also an extra tasting per course. Aside from the food which was near perfect, the ambiance is very unique outside dining in a semi enclosed courtyard, railyard bar, and dining in a lodge-like room with fireplace. Some of my favorite dishes were the veggies, surprising because I'm more of a meat eater. Cocktails were excellent but do ask the bartender since not all liquor is documented. Wine list is extensive“
“Had dinner before the Oh He Dead concert on Saturday December 17, 2022. We arrived a little before our seating and immediately were greeted and taken to our spots. Ian was outstanding! He was attentive, descriptive and helped create a good experience. Dan, our bartender, was magnificent. He created delectable cocktails and we also chatted along the way (we had bar seats which I highly recommend). This was very reasonably priced, we left very filled and happy. I want to give the highest possible compliments to Ian and Dan. The entire experience was perfect, largely because of the great food, but they took the experience well beyond a 1 star evening!“
“Eclectic mixture of offerings.Ukrainian borscht is true to what I remember from childhood. Halibut with coconut sauce is brilliant. Steak medallions complement a very Ukranian potato and are of highest quality. The owner, Olena is amazing and sweet.“
“Friendly and knowledgeable staff, in a unique atmosphere. Residents has a chill vibe and a Menu that changes with the seasons. Love the small bites. Highly recommend the baby artichokes on the Summer menu! Visited in Summer and Fall of 2022… Residents never disappoints! Highly recommend.“
“I'm a 14 year old kid and let me tell you this is one of my new favorite restaurants but sadly I live across the country. Its cool because of its history and its right next to the White House. This place works for everyone: kids no problem! Teens feel like kings because the watter calls them sir and mam, the young male adults have a good time because there are paintings nude women all around the place, adults love the vibe, and for grandma who is in a wheelchair it's excessive to her. The food was amazing. Even though my taste buds aren't fully developed and I got the burger let me tell you, it's the best one I've ever had. Everything you think about when you think of a burger is there. For people under 16 I recommend a Sherly Temple also known as a Kitty Cocktail. The one I got there was the best I think I have ever tasted. Thank you for the 5 people who read the whole thing. BTW I'm doing this instead of homework ?.“
“The food was fantastic! The service was fantasticOverall a fantastic experience. We had a awesome time dining with Rose's the staff was very nice and very accommodating to our dietary restrictions. We also received various items that we off the menu that were excellent. And they gave us a treat to take home. I would definitely recommend Roses, P&P, and Little Pearl. Trust me, they won't let you down.“
“I met girlfriends for a Sunday brunch. I expected more options on the menu, and something more exciting. They carry the basic brunch stuff. No starters but I got a peach bellini...okay I got 3 of them. Delish! They allow dogs inside for dining. I am not much of a fan of that. And my service was average, took almost whole meal to get another drink. All and all I will give them another try, wasn't awful and I left satisfied.“
“Amazing service, food, presentation, libations, decor, comfort, on and on. From 1st picture my welcome cocktail all the way to final cocktail and wine in between 2nd picture to 1st course caviar bigger purse with no silverware 3rd picture to 2nd to last course truffle ice cream with all the toppings, including caviar My words don’t do this dining event Justice. Oh, and when I got back to the hotel, I found an incredible burger in a box that I carried back to the hotel without opening. That was breakfast! Will be back.“
“Our server, Frank was incredibly welcoming and kind. We had some lovely conversation with him throughout the meal and enjoyed the service, courses, and the overall atmosphere. Each course was paired well with Audrey's Wine pairing and the dishes were stunning.“
“Absolutely welcome place for dinner with kids. The steak was the best! This place where you want to come back again and again!Parking: Across the street free parking, but it is difficult to find a slot daytime.Kid-friendliness: Absolutely welcome kids! I was with 3 kids. And everyone could choose what he wanted, not spicy food. The steak was very soft and the kids loved it!“
“Very nice place worth a look, with a wonderful collection of drinks that cover the entire walls of the building. We were treated to very pleasant service with a waiter who took the time to take care of us and with whom we were able to chat. He is very very jovial. The food was, although conventional, very tasty. The meat was excellent. In short, we had an excellent time in this bar-restaurant which we would recommend.“
“Went there during DC restaurant week. Beef tartare is my favorite. Seasoning is well balanced and the beef texture is nicely contrasted with the chips. Halibut with the brioche crust is good too. The buttery crunchy crust enriched the fish’s flavor. But other dishes like the duck breast and scallops are more mediocre. Maybe it’s just my expectations are a bit too high.“
“The food was amazing, the service was amazing, the drinks were amazing. We did the 3 course dinning option and it was worth every penny. I will def be back to try more food options and enjoy the balcony when the weather is warmer. The space is very mature and sexy.“
“My partner and I walked in at 6:30 PM on a busy Friday night without a reservation (I didn’t realize they had started taking reservations!) The host said the only options were bar seating or outdoor seating under heat lamps. We didn’t really want either of those options, but understood that since we didn’t have a reservation, we could not be very choosy. The host then kept looking at his reservation app and offered us a very nice table as long as we could be finished by 8:30 PM. We said that two hours is plenty of time! He said he felt bad that there wasn’t room for us but we assured him this was perfect and we would definitely be finished by the time he needed the table back. He was so kind and accomodating. The rest of the staff was also excellent (as always!) and the food was outstanding. I have always loved Purple Patch and will certainly return soon. Thank you PP team for being awesome!“
“EJ was incredibly nice and helpful, all the drinks were fantastic, and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming. Dan was exceptionally polite and crafted excellent drinks. Despite our large group, we were served in a timely manner and with great attention, had an amazing night!“
“Came here recently Friday night for my birthday dinner with friends—overall it was great! Service was good too.Food was delicious! Highly recommend the Maine Lobster Ravioli, Clams with Saffron Spaghetti, Dry Aged Roseda Beef Striploin, and Mushroom Risotto. For shareables, the Wood Fired Oysters and Crispy Brussel Sprouts were good, but wasn’t a huge fan of the Ricotta Dumplings. For desserts, we tried all three desserts but I only enjoyed the Key Lime Pie. Cocktails were pretty good! We ordered different rounds of shots and they came out pretty tasty.Parking is a bit tough here—there’s street parking if you can find a spot, or there’s a small parking lot in the back but not too safe if you’re by yourself.“
“Came as a large group so we ordered basically half of the menu and every single dish was delicious. The hummus and pita, the fries and aioli, the Venezuelan tequenos, the Greek wings. Also the Siddartha cocktail is one of the most delicious I've ever had! Will definitely be coming back!“
“This was our second time visiting. The first was two years ago. I'm pleased to say I would give 5 stars then, and 5 stars now. The service was great from the time we entered until we walked out. I can't remember the drink I had but was a "spirit free" option. I was nervous because it had cinnamon, but was perfectly refreshing. My husband had the optimal wit beer. We had the Pork belly for our appetizer that was nothing short of delicious. We both had steak, he had a ribeye and I had the filet. Perfectly cooked and worth the price. We were too full for dessert this time but will be back and save room!“
“Highly recommend this place. We were in DC for spring break with kids and found this place by walking in the area and looking to sit down to have early dinner. We loved the vibe, service, drinks and main reason we chose it was the OYSTERS. My husband ordered branzino, one of the best we ever had, I ordered the crab and bacon soup and a side dish of mussels salad, just as good!“
“10 stars for Alex. He took care of us even while there was another reservation ahead of us. We arrived a bit late. But his customer service is the best I have had in a while. Drinks were great especially that nimbus. Chicken and biscuits could use more mumbo sauce.“
“My husband made a reservation for my birthday dinner and the food, service and atmosphere was exceptional. Our server Francisco was top notched and very professional in detailing the menu and offering suggestions on drinks and food. A must go to when in DC, you won’t be disappointed.“
“Excellent food, service, and ambiance, but portion sizes for the price (at least the sandwiches) leave a lot to be desired and make miss the old sandwich, salad, and soup place down the street, Bread Line. BL might not have had the name, but they sure had the immigrants and their food was excellent. The range of differing options here at IF is great though and the table service option is a nice touch.“
“I got the private room with my friends, and really enjoyed the brunch here. The three-egg omelet was delicious with the chicken sausage and the cheese, but I do wish that tomatoes were offered as a topping. It would give a nice acidic taste to the omelet. The servers were very nice and offered to take pictures for my party. The aesthetic here is also really nice. Overall, highly recommend for brunch.“
“Always a gem. Great creative food, atmosphere that allows conversation, and service that is not pushy yet involved, if that makes sense. And, although they were only a few minutes late with our table, gave us a glass of champagne... we did not suffer!“
“The entire experience was amazing - it was like front row seats at the theater but even better because of the interactivity. The chefs were talented and fun, the environment was comfortable and intimate, the food was inventive and delicious, the presentation was artistic, and the service was impeccable. Thank you for such a memorable evening!“
“Eubin took excellent care of my husband and I on our visit to barmini. It was our first visit (of many more to come) and every single cocktail was mind blowing. I had originally booked a flight, only to have to change it to a la carte in order to make dinner reservations. I wish we had cancelled dinner and stayed at barmini! I cannot find enough positive words to describe this experience. Worth every single cent and more. A must visit! We will be back! (And sit at the bar. The show of every cocktail being prepared truly adds to the experience!) the cake for my birthday was a spectacular gesture as well!“
“My husband and I visit last week while we were in DC for our two year anniversary. We decided to celebrate our actual wedding date by going to The Dabney. Our first michelin star restaurant experience set the bar high. From the start, the team was quick to answer our questions and was open to having us bring in a stroller since we had a newborn with us.Our server Ryan was absolutely exceptional and phenomenal. He did all he could to make the night special for us. All of the staff shared personal stories and tidbits of information throughout the night.Everything was meticulously crafted, plated, and presented to us with pride, joy, and love. The tiniest details made the largest impact on creating an overall completeness to each dish.It was breathtaking, palate pleasing, borderline overfilling, and will be a lasting memory and true highlight of our trip.If you are debating visiting this location, do it. Book that reservation. Try something new. Create a memory. And spread the word. A place like this deserves to be experienced.“
“Absolutely amazing experience! I almost never write reviews, but this place was so incredible that I had to this time.We went on a Friday night and did the 7-course tasting menu and drink pairing at the chef's counter. I'm sure it's not part of the experience every time, but it actually turned into about a 9-course tasting because they served some extras not on the menu that they were excited to share. Every aspect was incredible.Starting off, before we even arrived, with personalized contact from Brian to ensure that they knew everything from our names, if it was special occasion, dietary restrictions, etc. It was clear they wanted to make sure it was a special experience for us before we even stepped foot in the restaurant. On arrival the environment was incredible and the whole staff was friendly and consistently went out of their way to make the evening memorable. The food was, of course, incredible. But even more enjoyable was the detailed explanation of both the food we were being served and the wine choices for pairing. We learned a lot about how they prepared the food, where the ingredients were locally sourced from, etc. Not only was it informative, but their true passion for the quality of what they were serving really shined through.Just as top notch as the food, the service was incredible. They were true professionals that knew exactly how to strike the balance between being highly attentive without interfering with our date. The pacing of the servings was absolutely spot on. We neither had to wait between courses nor had courses stacking up. Everything was executed flawlessly.Hands down the best dining experience I've ever had. Great food, great environment, and absolutely exceptional service. We will be back for sure and will enthusiastically recommend it to anyone seeking a top-notch dining experience. Extremely well done!“
“Ada’s on the river is a fantastic spot for an elevated meal. They food was delish and the atmosphere is very nice. The drinks are great as well. The views are great! It’s a fun spot to meet up with family, friends or to have a date night.Parking: There are 2 different paid parking areas near the restaurant and you can also try your hand at street parking.“
“Bronze is an amazing restaurant. Chef Keem and his staff are professional, serve amazing dishes and have a great vibe. The staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and the ambiance is amazing. I've been here several times and recommend everyone to visit.“
“This a good place for a bite in the morning or a relaxing dinner in the evening. The menu is okay but could use some better dining options. For breakfast, stick with the basics, trying to over create a simple meal takes away from the meal. The pancakes do need some work though, not sure it they are trying to use gluten free flour but the pancakes just aren’t right. The dinner menu is good but could use some more variety. I do recommend a stop in and enjoy a good meal (just stay away from the pancakes)“
“Was a great experience. Had travel issue getting there and was a little late, but they did their best to work with me within their policy. The food was amazing and Belinda's service was great. The restaurant lived up to the talk about it. Will be back.“
“Family time, good service didn’t wait long for food and it was great! I’ll admit it’s a little on the pricy side but it’s definitely worth it!Kid-friendliness: My kids had fun eating and watching games, also had nice decorations around the restaurant“
“Great food but staff is very overwhelmed by the level of people during peak brunch hours. They are nice but definitely need help. Prices are on par for del ray but on this occasion it definitely didn't feel like a del ray experience. Will be back at a different time/ day to see if this is just a Sunday brunch issue.“
“As I was heading out Washington D.C I decided to come here to grab a quick bite. It was packed but I got a seat in less than 10mins. My server was friendly, attentive and answered all of my questions nicely! The food was delicious. Came out quickly and everything was well seasoned. I enjoyed my time here and would come again! The parking lot was tight though so please be careful when finding a spot.“
“Today, we were incredibly fortunate to visit a unique restaurant, Monocle, located on Capitol Hill. We initially chose it due to its proximity to our hotel, but it turned out to be a true "Washingtonian gem." Opened in 1960, this restaurant has been operated by the same family ever since. The menu is concise, which we believe highlights the culinary excellence presented in merely five dishes. We were in search of "authentic American steaks from real American beef from real American cows." What we received far exceeded our expectations. Both steaks we ordered were exquisitely prepared to perfection. We both agreed that these were the best steaks we've ever had the pleasure of eating in our lives. #MasterpieceAs if the meal itself wasn't enough, our server, Marinos Apostolopoulos, provided us with a genuine journey through the history of this establishment. We are deeply grateful!Given its location near the Capitol, the restaurant has been visited by at least half of American politicians over the last 60 years, including Presidents Nixon, Kennedy, Bush, and Clinton. Celebrities like Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, among other incredible individuals, have also frequented this place. The number of VIPs and their dedications displayed in their own photos hanging on every wall is truly astonishing. One of the servers celebrated his 50th work anniversary here two months ago with a surprise party for 250 people, an event that was featured on the front page of the Washington Post, which we had the opportunity to read. The place is beautiful, with incredibly friendly service and excellent food. The wonderful experiences we had will stay with us forever. It's worth traveling for moments like these. We highly recommend it and would love to return someday.“
“This place is nothing short of spectacular. We've added it to the work rotation about a year ago and it's never disappointed. The staff and owner are amazing! Easily the best casual Italian food in the Alexandria area! (Their garlic bread is definitely the best thing since sliced bread!)“
“This is a total K-Street lobbyist bar with nice drinks at insane prices. The room is dark and swanky with great artwork of politicians from both sides of the aisle, upscale bar snacks come with your table, and you’ll pay $35 for an ounce of Woodford - but you may spot a member of Congress, too. This is a spot frequented by corporate accounts and special-interest types, but it’s a cool, old-school DC room and perfectly executed.“
“Christina is the Best! She so pleasant and nice. She could run the entire Resturant. She’s always smiling. Knows everyone by name. Knows most regulars drinks and just super pleasant! Always great to see her and drink my morning caffeine drink.“
“Wow! I was very impressed with my waiter Josue he was absolutely excellent and exceptional! Not only was he very attentive to our needs but he always checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. This restaurant is a jewel and If you're in the area I recommend taking the time to come in! Thank you for your great service!Vegetarian options: I am not vegetarian therefore I did not really look for these options but i did see a few things that could work for vegetarians.Parking: Enough parking, you wont have any issues here.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes this is a place that is wheelchair accessible“
“Absolutely delicious food, excellent service, warm and enjoyable atmosphere, nearby parking, beautiful location by water and downtown Alexandria street shops. The two of us shared a calamari plate for appetizer, the short ribs that came with broccoli and mashed potatoes, and a flourless chocolate cake and everything was not only delicious but the portions were big enough to bring some of each plate home. I also had an alcoholic drink that was as delicious, but I forget the name! I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch, dinner or just an appetizer and drinks. Apparently they have a great brunch on the weekends as well.“
“A friend of mine took us here for a late dinner lastmonth since they told us it was great. They weren’t wrong, our experience was great! We came at around 8 PM on a Friday and they were a little busy but we got a table. Our server was super friendly. We started with the calamari as an appetizer which was tasty! As my entree, I got the Margarita Flatbread. Overall it was good! The toppings were tasty and it was cooked perfectly.Overall, if you’re in the Foggy Bottom area of DC, Circa is a good spot! I’ll be back.“
“A group of friends and I happened upon this restaurant by chance because of a reservation snafu at a nearby brunch spot. They accommodated our party of 6 with no wait or deposit. The food was good and the bottomless mimosas were great. I will certainly come here again.“
“Delicious! The portions were very large. I could of had another meal to take home. Everyone around me also got To Go boxes. Everything tasted very fresh. The chickpeas in the hummus were dried which was something I never had before and thought it added a really nice texture. The only thing I didn’t care for was the Pita. It was super thin and tough. I like mine soft and warm.“
“RT's is a neighborhood treasure. I have been going off and on for years but have been twice in 2 weeks because the flavors are amazing. The crab and crawfish imperial is to die for. I wanted to try something different last night but could not imagine watching someone else enjoy my favorite dish. The she crab soup could use a bit of lump crab for texture but was good. Everything coming from the kitchen looked amazing. Can't wait to go back again.“
“Great experience. The team takes you through a meal experience. They are very clear in explaining the food being placed in front of all diners at once. If you want exceptional food and service (with a fun and interesting wine experience - thank you Alex) definitely go to Bresca. We are regulars for a reason. Our last group included a vegetarian and he raved about the quality of his food.“
“As someone with dairy and egg allergies, I was extremely grateful for the many vegan options on the menu. We came our first night in DC and had the delicious vegan nachos and vegan BBQ “chicken” bites and I was beyond impressed. We had such a great experience that we came back again…. And again while we were in DC. Everyone in my family (vegan and not) raved about their food and our service was phenomenal. Add in the great bookstore attached that the kids and us enjoyed while waiting for food and this place is a must go. If you’re a beer lover, try the Busboys Haze and you won’t be disappointed.“
“As a lover of expertly crafted cocktails, I am incredibly grateful for Salt. In my humble opinion, North Arlington is lacking when it comes to craft cocktails so I'm happy Salt decided to fill this need. The cherry on top is the tasty food to go with the tasty cocktails!“
“My name is Meredith and my family and I ordered breakfast from our neighborhood IHOP in Bladensburg, MD, which we've been coming consistently for years. This has been again one of the best restaurant experiences we've ever experienced. Dionne (Our Waitress) and Julia (Store Manager) who have served us for years, greeted us with friendly smiles, professionalism and extremely prompt amazing service! All the food was was outstanding, super fresh and mouthwatering. The ambiance is very beautiful and laid back. Their dedication to excellent customer service and professionalism is second to none and reflects great credit upon themselves and the IHOP brand. My overall rating undoubtedly is 5 out of 5 stars without hesitating. Dionne and Julia both deserve big raises and the biggest recognition/honorable mention for their amazing friendly service, attentiveness and professionalism. Thanks IHOP for hiring these jewels of employees to represent your magnificent restaurant business! :o)“
