“I love this place! They have a bunch of local and craft beers on tap and one of the best selections of beers for retail in the area. If there is a beer you are looking for but can’t find, as long as the county sticks it, Ashish (the fabulous, friendly owner) will order it. The store is very clean and bright, I never have trouble finding parking, and the prices are on par with other stores. In the wine side of things, there is a good variety and prices seem a little lower than other area stores.”

“I have nothing but good things to say about Gourmet Asian Bistro (7224 Muncaster Mill Rd, Derwood, MD 20855). It offers Chinese, Thai, and sushi. I've eaten there 3 times in the past 2 weeks, and it's been excellent every time and affordable! The vegetable tofu soup ($2.95) is huge, satisfying, and full of veggies. The wonton soup ($2.95) has 3 good sized wontons. Both soups come with a bowl of tastier-than-average fried wonton strips on the side that I end up munching on during the entire meal. The sizzling black pepper beef ($16.95?) was tasty, but I was more impressed by the noodle dishes. The beef chow fun ($14.95?) and the Singapore mei fun ($13.95) were beautifully seasoned and cooked perfectly. I've also gotten the salmon nigiri ($5.95?) a couple times, and it's generously portioned and fresh with great quality salmon. Every meal ends with a complimentary tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream and fortune cookie. There are plenty of good Chinese restaurants in MoCo, but Gourmet Asian Bistro is my current favorite for best flavor and value.”

“I had went to the dollar store to get some cleaning supplies and got hungry so I came in to get food, I haven’t ate subways in like 5 years plus Mrs. Zulma and Mrs. Linsee helped me made the whole process easy for me again very helpfully and gave me good scoops as well Food was delicious too. “Overall, we had a great experience. I try not to read reviews before visiting a restaurant because I prefer to judge it for myself. We chose this Outback because we wanted a sit-down dinner without driving to Rockville or downtown Silver Spring.

I hadn't visited this location in over 10 years after a bad experience with a broken Alfredo sauce that the staff couldn't resolve, but I figured it was time to give them another chance.

We started with the warm bread and butter, then ordered appetizers. There was a mix-up because the menu at our table differed from the one in the lobby, but our server, Michael, quickly corrected our order without any issues. The appetizers were fresh and flavorful. The only minor criticism was that the chips with the spinach dip were just a little overdone.

For dinner we ordered the Kingsland Steak & Shrimp Pasta, Queensland Chicken & Shrimp Pasta, and the Filet with Alice Springs Chicken and a grilled shrimp skewer. The Caesar salads (with ranch instead of Caesar dressing and no croutons for my son) were fresh and prepared exactly as requested. I accidentally ordered the wrong pasta, but Michael immediately fixed it. He kept our drinks full, timed everything well, and all of our food came out hot and fresh.

The only issue was with seating. Another party that arrived after us was seated first and received their food well before we did. I spoke with the hostess, Cindy, who explained that she calls multiple parties at once. While she acknowledged my concern, I believe seating guests in arrival order creates a better first impression. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry, I know a guest's experience begins the moment they walk through the door, and those first impressions can affect the entire meal.

One other observation was that service overall seemed a bit slower than expected despite plenty of open tables. It may have been staffing or workflow, but it's something worth improving.

That said, Michael provided excellent service, the food was fresh and delicious, and this visit definitely restored my confidence in this location. I'd happily return.”

They were knowledgeable and quick to answer any questions, ensuring a seamless dining experience for our group. The hot and cold bar offered a wide variety of options, though the highlight of our visit was the churrasco service. The selection of meats was outstanding—beef was especially tender and flavorful, while the pork, shrimp, chicken, and salmon were equally impressive. “My work splurged on us a lunch for us consisting of the Rasa Tantori Tasting Bundle. This meal is advertised as feeding 10 people, I think they are underselling just how much food you get. Were 10 extremely hungry people and then we were 10 very satisfied and perhaps overly full people a few minutes later, with food to spare! Nothing was particularly spicy, there was a little heat on one of the dishes, but nothing crazy. The variety of food is well balanced. Chicken, tofu, saffron rice, Greens, salads, chickpeas and curry with 2 chutneys, even dessert cookies! I recommend this meal if you are looking for an easy way to order a variety of food in one go that can feed 10 hungry, or 14 less hungry people. Especially if any of them are cautious about trying Indian. It was delicious well made. Not to mention conveniently delivered.”
