“Always love Comus Inn! Food is reliability delicious. Service is good but today they had a bike fund raiser and tables outside. We lost our server midway through bc she was helping the outside tables. Someone who I think was prob the mgr stepped in to help but it was noticeable. Please hire more people. Crab toast was awesome as was the duffle pancakes, BLTA, smash burger and eggs Benedict.“

They gave us special printed menus with our names printed on it for the celebration and upon leaving a glass with some fruit candies. The brunch was plentiful and delicious, with a variety of items to fill our plates, including an omelet station. A wonderful experience that made for a memorable afternoon!“

“Long post ahead, warning! I walked in around 9 pm and the hostess didn't bat an eye at my dining alone, and didn't say anything about it, which I appreciate. I was seated right away with no problems and immediately got a chance to look over the menu. I will admit, it took a little bit longer than expected for my waiter to come over, but as a lone diner I sort of expected that. I looked like I was waiting for someone, I'm sure. The look and feel of the place was very upscale, but they didn't have any problems with me walking in wearing a nerdy t-shirt. I was seated in this cute little booth for 2 with curtains on the side so, if I wanted a more private dinner, I could have it. It was a cute touch! The restaurant also offered patio dining and since it's by the creek, that would have been a downright charming experience were it not the usual Maryland summer. Despite having a bar, the restaurant was respectably quiet and low-key, making it an easy dining experience. I wasn't in the mood for something wild, and this place really hit the nail on the head. My first waiter Kevin, however, was the picture of polite helpfulness. He answered all of my questions, made some wonderful suggestions, and was incredibly pleasant to talk to. I was delighted to find out that this place takes part in DC restaurant week, so I was able to take part in that promotion. Under a suggestion from Kevin, I ordered a glass of their moscato (I wanted something light and sweet), and the wine was so good I brought home a whole bottle. Not really on them, but it does reflect their excellent selection. Dinner itself was delicious. The red pepper soup was refreshing and flavorful, without being too filling. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection and was flavored in the perfect way to make the actual flavor of the meat shine. The potatoes were both light and fluffy, but also had the little chunks of potato that I prefer in my mashed. The best part was desert. About halfway through my appetizer, Kevin introduced my other waiter, Maddy, who took over after he went home. She was as much of a delight as he was, and made possibly the best recommendation of the night. Desert was this blackberry tart that I did not have room for but could not put down. Gooey and crumbly all at once, with a warm center that was almost caramel-y even though it was fruit based. Topped with a light cream to balance it all out, it was absolutely delicious. I will be thinking of that tart all day tomorrow. The prices on the menu were a little high, but I wouldn't go so far to say they were unreasonable. If I had wanted a cheaper option, I could have gone to any chain restaurant ever. In the grand scheme of downtown Frederick, with it's many small businesses and one of a kind dining experiences, I think this was reasonable. For reference, a lot of meals were between $20 and $30, but a good steak is almost always $30+. Despite the price, I had an exceptional dining experience, and would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for upscale dining, without the upscale requirements.“

“**Cotton & Rye at Leesburg Resort - 4/5 Stars**

I recently dined at Cotton & Rye with my family during our stay at the Leesburg Resort. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and offers a menu filled with classic American dishes with a bit of a twist.

I ordered the **Miso Glazed Salmon** with a side of **Parmesan Fries**, and both were delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked—moist, flaky, and full of flavor thanks to the miso glaze. The Parmesan fries were crispy and generously coated with cheese, making them a perfect pairing with the salmon. I also tried the **Mockapolitan**, a non-alcoholic cocktail that was refreshing and well-balanced.

My family had the **NY Strip Steak** and **Chicken Wings**, and they were very satisfied with their meals as well. The steak was cooked just right, and the wings were crispy and flavorful.

The only downside was the slow service. The meal was leisurely paced, which was a bit frustrating, especially in a resort setting where you expect things to move a bit quicker. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but the wait between courses was noticeable.

Overall, Cotton & Rye offers great food, and I enjoyed my meal, but be prepared for a more laid-back dining experience. With some improvements in service speed, this could easily become a top dining spot within the resort.“

“Excellent accommodations! Superior service! From the on-site luxury spa, gorge tennis courts & golfing course to the relaxing and fun pool, I don’t know I must rave about first! Let’s start with Austin the Awesome! We arrived late after a bare-knuckle 4 hour drive, and we were exhausted from working all day and driving to the conference that evening. Well, Austin’s welcoming attitude lifted our spirits when we arrived. He greeted us at the car, took care of our luggage and escorted us to our rooms. He was personable and highly intelligent college student that is going to take the sport industry by storm for sure! Delicious dining options on site; and so many options onsite to wash your worries away. I was there on business, however I felt like I was on an 5 star island resort. If you are passing thru VA or looking for a great vacation spot, I highly recommend The Landsdowne Resort—when you do ask for Austin the Awesome!“

“I went into the Tavern because a man from the cafe next door was following me around and kept trying to get me to talk to him. I walked up to the bar, told the bartender, Matt, what was going on, and asked if I could hang out for a bit. He not only let me stay, but asked if I would like some water and asked me for a description of the man. Eventually, the man walked in and asked to sit next to me. Matt got him to sit on the other end of the bar. The man started taking pictures of random people, including me, so Matt asked him what he was doing and made him delete the photos he took of me and the other patrons. The man eventually left. I would have never expected so much help from someone in this situation, and I can't thank Matt enough for the help he provided. Fantastic service overall.“

Our meals (regardless of Piedmont not having the pork tenderloin)we’re prepared to perfection and so delicious. Salmon and Chilean sea bass(taste like rock fish)w/lobster mashed potatoes & our Pinot’s were superb. I didn’t get dessert, so not chocolate sauce, fruit w/a candle for me. I put my own confetti on our table.

“The vanilla latte was brought out in a very timely manner and in cute presentation with a small cookie. 10 minutes after we were brought our eggs Benedict and biscuits and gravy, accompanied by the yogurt parfait which was quite delicious. Overall, the eggs Benedict was the highlight of the meal, followed by the fruit parfait, and the biscuits and gravy which did lack a bit of flavor, though it was filling. The booths were intimate and the atmosphere was perfect for an early Saturday morning.“
