“Silver Queen Cafe continues to be a local gem. After our original dinner plans fell through this past Saturday, we were able to snag a last-minute 7:45 PM reservation, and it turned out to be a fantastic evening.
​We’ve visited before and always appreciate the cozy atmosphere and their commitment to fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Even though they were sold out of a few popular items we had our hearts set on—the fried oyster tacos and the black bean burgers—the experience was still top-notch. Our server, Jamie, was incredibly helpful in guiding us toward new choices, and we ended up thoroughly enjoying the mushroom blue pizza and the seafood nachos.
​What really stood out was the level of service. Not only was Jamie attentive, but the bartender also made a point to come by our table to check on us, which was a great personal touch. It’s clear the staff here genuinely cares about the guest experience.
​Silver Queen Cafe is exactly the kind of neighborhood spot that deserves to be celebrated. We’re lucky to have them in the area and will definitely be back soon!“

“We went to dinner here this evening with a large party of 10. While we enjoyed our food and our server was great our overall experience was not 🤦🏼‍♀️. I don’t know if we just had an evening of bad luck or what. First after sitting there a bit a VERY large picture fell off of the wall directly onto me and my 18 month old daughter, then there was a gnat in our drink, and my dad walked outside and a piece of shingle fell off and hit him in the head. Like, I seriously couldn’t make this up. 🤣 like I said food was good and so was our waiter but I feel like a little more could have been done after the picture situation. A cupcake and free drink didn’t really cut it. Had it just fallen on me I wouldn’t have been so upset but the fact that it fell on my daughter made my soul leave my body. We will give it another shot at some point and chock tonight up to the full moon or something just be careful where you sit your kiddos.“

“Went here for a family celebration and my husband and I couldn’t stop talking about the food on the way home. The 3 course meal + wine pairings was such a great value and I now know I need to have more Cabernet Sauvignon in my life. The truffle frites were some of the best I’ve ever had, actual truffles not just truffle oil. And the grilled Cesar salad, with the fried capers; will be doing that from now on! I loved everything I had, and everything that was shared between family. Would definitely recommend this place!“

“don't know if it was the server or the kitchen but our food took forever and then my salad was incorrect. I asked for no tomatoes they gave me tomatoes but no cheese. asked for cookies and creme ice cream took half hour for Ice cream to come out when I told our server to cancel the ice cream cause I had to be out forest hill by 230 and it was already 130 ,(we had already been there 1 1/2 hours for 2 kids meals a sandwich and salad) then the ice cream came out incorrect so I canceled my ice cream order. it was early in the afternoon no line at the window and only 6 tables of guest all small groups.“

“This stand is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you walk up, the smell of perfectly seasoned beef sizzling over the coals hits you — and it only gets better from there. I ordered the classic pit beef sandwich, sliced to order and piled high on a fresh kaiser roll. The meat was tender, juicy, and had that perfect bark on the edges. I topped it with their house-made tiger sauce (a killer horseradish-mayo blend) and a little onion — simple, but absolutely packed with flavor. Service was quick, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their meat and the experience they’re giving customers. Sides were solid too — especially the hand-cut fries, which were crispy and golden. They are the closest to boardwalk fries that I have had on this side of town. Prices are very reasonable for the portion size and quality you're getting.I'll definitely be back!“

“I just have to share the fantastic experience we had tonight. My husband and I went to The Local around 6:30 pm (prime time without reservations lol). The only available seats were a high top table in the bar area. They asked us if that was ok and we said “sure”. Within a minute or so after being seated, it became apparent that our vision of a nice relaxing dinner would be impossible in that room. The Preakness was about to begin, and that bar was loud and hopping! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, I love to see people enjoying themselves. It was a party, but just wasn’t our vibe tonight. We decided we would go elsewhere. We politely informed the hostess that we were going to leave because it was just a tad too noisy, but that we would definitely return again soon. We stressed that we were not mad, or upset. As we were walking to our car, a very nice gentleman followed us out and asked if we would consider returning if they could sit us elsewhere. We said “Of course!” We didn’t think there were any other available tables, but he said they would work something out for us. We told him we didn’t expect them to go out of their way for us and that we could wait. Within five minutes, we were seated at a lovely table in the dining room. We later learned the gentleman that helped us was none other than the owner/ executive chef Zack. We went on to have a delicious dinner with the most attentive and charming server. They demonstrated exemplary customer service, which sadly is lacking in many other establishments. We weren’t expecting any special treatment, but they certainly went above and beyond for us, and it was very much appreciated! When we were leaving, Zack happened to be outside, so he made sure to ask how our experience was. We told him it was amazing, and that his restaurant has been one of our favorites since it opened. We told him we would be back soon. Our experience there tonight is just one of many examples why this restaurant stands out, and why we will always highly recommend them! “August 24. Five of us came to enjoy lunch together. Very disappointed. My ultimate grilled cheese was not ‘ultimate’. Very little cheese, no tomato, and crab cake/meat was sub par. Another lady received the wrong lunch and then had to send back her lunch when the correct order was brought. Another lady had to send back her hot fudge sundae. We were told the hot fudge was made last week! It would have been nice if a manager had come to our table. Have been coming to Manor Tavern for decades and have never been so disappointed. Am coming again in September. Hope things are a bit better!“

“We've been here a number of times. Typically it's because of a soccer event, and not by choice. I don't particularly like the food. The only restaurant i know that won't cook a burger to a desired doneness. Every time i see an order or side of fries, it's like they're from the bottom of the bag. Small little potato bits. Have to eat with a fork to get enough to fill my mouth. Service is hit and miss, especially when you're stuffed in the back dining room.“
