“This was a fabulous find. Being the Southern inspired menu, we opted for the fried green tomato appetizer, panko breaded deviled eggs were an unexpected and unusual offering that was phenomenally delicious. We also enjoyed their cajun pasta to round out the meal. We had courteous service from staff that were friendly, responsive and informative and efficient and fun. Very reasonable priced for quality and quantity of food. Highly recommend.“

“We had dinner here on October 27, 2025. We were greeting by very friendly staff and were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. We start with drinks. Erik had an Old Fashion, while Cheryl had a Belle's Punch. The drinks arrived in a reasonable time, were well presented and tasted great. For dinner Erik had the Shrimp and Grits, while Cheryl had the Delta Rice Bowl. We also got a Jamie's Cornbread and Fried Pickles. The food arrived in a reasonable time frame and was well presented. The food was fantastic being delicious and filling. We had no room for dessert. This was an excellent dining experience that we highly recommend.“

“#blueandwhitecarryout an Alexandria staple patronized by the locals and visitors alike. A tiny venue but very welcoming and gave a feeling of belonging! One employee in particular by the name of Charlie was quite popular as longtime customers piled in to say hello or catch up while he prepared an array of food items to include the fried foods. Mimi wanted to try the fried chicken breast (she loves chicken) and initially I was told there was a 15 minute wait, a customer ahead of me stated it’s definitely worth the wait as he smiled. So having a free day off, I waited and I am so glad that I did! The chicken breast also has the wing attached and it’s placed piping hot between two slices of “cheap white sliced bread”. I was asked how I would like it so I responded as many others before me did: salt, pepper and hot sauce? When I say that was the most perfectly seasoned, fried and juiciest chicken breast I have ever had (5/5). They are a food stand opened early and closes early only M-F! “We went to the express one. We didn't know because we are from Mi. They didn't have pancakes there. The waffle was fancy and a little too sweet but it was good. I tasted my sons French toast. It was tasty and I don't eat French toast. They are a little pricey but I would go again. I forgot to take pics but the food looked really good. They have really nice to go food containers too. Definetely keepers.“

“Kristin W. From the Waldorf location was absolutely amazing. She was very in tune with my table. Constantly checking in on us and making sure that we had whatever it was that we needed. She kept a smile on her face. So even if she has anything going on, we could never tell. I will highly encourage more people to visit this place and ask for Kristin W. as a waitress.“

“Randomly found this spot and decided to drop in. I was greeted with a warm welcome, given recommendations and even received a water with a Bible verse in the cap. I got the whiting nuggets with fries and I wasn’t disappointed. Food was piping hot and fresh. I also got the hibiscus pineapple drink which was really good! They’ve gained a life long customer.“

“I was In Falls Church visiting a friend and had to try HSCAFÉ.. @MamaNemsRVA_ I ordered Ribs potato salad collards and yams and I loved it I always post pics as an aspiring food critic but it was so good I forgot !!! For Dessert I ordered Sweet Potato Pie Banana pudding and pound cake which will last me a while but tasted them all for reviews and all three 10/10!!“

“This was a 10 out of 10. We were in for Thanksgiving dinner. We had the turkey entrée. And the braised beef. Which was cut with a fork tender. Everything was beautifully seasoned and tasty. And very generous plates. Plenty to take home for after Thanksgiving leftovers.  This was my first time ever having Thanksgiving in a restaurant. I have to say this was a home run. This could be my new go to........ Ps Staff was GREAT also..... All around great experience......“

“Perfect space for a drink and meal before walking Lee Street on Halloween night! The food was flavorful (steak salad & gumbo) and served quickly with care. The bartenders G and Raul treated my guy and I like family. Their energy was infectious and they ran the bar effortlessly.“

“We have dined at the restaurant several times over the years. Before our experience this visit, I had read some negative reviews regarding service, food quality and cleanliness. I have to say that we found everything wonderful. We had reservations but arrived much earlier than expected to the restaurant. The Hostess was very accommodating and found an open table right away in the room with the Bar. (I would have enjoyed a table in one of the dining rooms better, which might have been the case had we stuck with our original reservation but we couldn't be picky since the Hostess was kind enough to provide us with an earlier lunch !) The food was delicious, served in a prompt time. Our waiter, Zach, was attentive and very pleasant. Even the servers who brought the food from the kitchen to our table were so nice ! My message in this review is "don't base your possible experience on the negative reviews" !!!“

“I love the food at EllaRay’s Cafe. I go there every week. I usually call my order in and pick it up in 15 or 20 minutes. I prefer the vegetable platter and an extra side of beans. The portions are enough for two meals for me. I love breakfast there also. Glad I discovered them.“
