“Connie's Chicken and Waffles.......what can I say other than OH MY GOD IT'S SOOOOOO GOOD!!!
Ordered the fish and waffles and did NOT disappoint!!! The fish was flaky and light and hot, served with hot sauce (on the side). The waffle was a crunch berry waffle and normally I am not a crunch berry fan, but decided to give it a shot and would have been SORELY upset if I had missed it! This waffle was light and airy and the crunch berries were soft and wonderful. The whole thing melted on your mouth.
The best part of the entire experience was the fact that Ms Connie was ACTUALLY THERE! She is the sweetest, most welcoming person to grace that location. Nothing against anyone else there, but her "Hello friends!" And big smile greeting all passers by gives you a sense of her true spirit. Kevontay and Tevin were phenomenal to interact with and made the eating experience great. PLEASE VISIT THIS RESTAURANT! You won't be disappointed!!“

“Upon entering Connie's Waffles, nestled inconspicuously in a Baltimore business park, one cannot help but feel a sense of discovery akin to uncovering a hidden gem. The slight overcast sky of the morning did little to dampen the warmth exuded by this charming establishment. As my friend and I searched for a brunch spot amidst a plethora of options, a quick Google search led us to Connie's, and the promise of chicken and waffles was too tempting to resist. Little did we know, our culinary adventure was about to transcend expectations.
The establishment, though seemingly solitary at such an early hour, was anything but lonely. Its ambiance was inviting, a haven for the early risers seeking solace in the comfort of a hearty meal. The food, oh, the food was a testament to the artistry of soul cuisine. My traditional order of a crispy waffle paired with impeccably seasoned chicken fingers was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors. Each bite resonated with the tender love and care of its creators, as though each dish was an ode to the timeless tradition of southern hospitality.
My companion’s choice of shrimp and waffles proved equally revelatory. The juxtaposition of succulent seafood and the warm embrace of a golden waffle was nothing short of a culinary symphony. The shrimp, fresh and perfectly cooked, added an unexpected yet delightful twist to the classic dish, affirming Connie's place in the pantheon of brunch excellence.
However, as with any journey, there are moments of longing. In this case, it was the absence of grits that left a small void in our otherwise jubilant experience. A staple beloved in these parts, the lack of grits was a minor detour on our path to gastronomic nirvana. Yet, this omission is but a whisper in the grand chorus of Connie's offerings.
Connie’s Waffles stands as a beacon for travelers and locals alike, a place where tradition and innovation converge. It harkens back to the storied halls of Wells in Harlem and the famed Roscoe’s in LA, establishments synonymous with the quintessence of chicken and waffles. In Baltimore, Connie's has carved out its niche, offering a soulful respite for the weary and the hungry.
In conclusion, Connie's Waffles is not merely a restaurant; it is an experience, a journey through the rich tapestry of flavors that define southern cuisine. On my personal scale, this establishment earns a well-deserved 9 out of 10, a point shy of perfection only for the absent grits. Yet, even in their absence, Connie’s shines brightly. For those venturing to 222 N. Charles, a visit to Connie's is not just recommended—it is imperative. Your palate will thank you, and your soul will be nourished.“

“I've got high hopes that this place finds a permanent home at R House. The MoBoy sandwich was fresh with bright veggies, crispy catfish, juicy fried shrimp, and a tangy remoulade. The banana pudding could've used some fresh banana, but was exactly what I wanted it to be otherwise. Looking forward to some red velvet cornbread that I saw being prepped or some pillowy beignets suffocated in powers sugar. The whole staff was super friendly and really sold me on the place. You should go...now.“
