“This was easy when staying at the Crown, nice atmosphere with happy hour until 6pm. Service is great and food is good for a small menu but great choices. I had grilled chicken thighs on rice with a side salad and it was very tasty. I’m back again but just with chicken Caesar salad, good beer and drink choices too.“

“The drink menu is creative, telling how the drinks were inspired.

I had two drinks. The first one was “Summers, Horses, Dreams”, love this one, it is a twisted from lychee martini, adding green cardamom which is insane delicious. However, I think the drink need to be colder.

Second drink was “Little Hats and Fast Trains”, highball style with Mazapan foam, I believe this is a type of peanut candy, and tamarind flavor. The foam was tasty but the tamarind was tart for me.

The staff was really helpful and nice. The atmosphere and the vibe was okay, good for dating or go with your friend.“

“This was a pretty neat find as we wandered around the area! The tap wall was excellent to be able to try various types of beers and other drinks. Ordered the crazy fries, birria tacos, and the tuna poke wontons and all of them were excellent though the wontons were a clear favorite at our table. “During our visit to Washington, our family had the pleasure of dining at this remarkable restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the atmosphere — the interior breathes history, with the establishment dating back to 1946. We spent quite some time admiring the vintage photographs and décor, which allowed us to truly feel the soul of the place.

An elderly gentleman who served us was incredibly kind and welcoming, patiently helping us choose from the menu. We ordered delicious pasta and mozzarella sticks — everything was full of flavor and very reasonably priced.

This restaurant is a true gem, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. A warm, authentic, and memorable experience.“

“I’ve now dined here for dinner and brunch and both experiences were top notch. I’m impressed with the commitment to healthy foods and preparation throughout the process. The menu was intriguing and we enjoyed all of our selections. From the focaccia bread to the beets to the fennel salad and fried meatballs, the appetizers were delightful. The raviolini and beef heart bolognese pastas were remarkable too! My hubby loved his veal and the I forgot to mention all the fun mocktails (kids tried the elderberry and I enjoyed the homemade ginger ale)! “The Haymaker is a great cocktail bar and has some of the best and hardest working bartenders in DC. When we arrived, the bar counter seats were almost full. Three cocktails in and the whole place was packed with 90/95% having cocktails, our refills still came quickly. Why only 4 star? They have changed the food menu and not for the better. The dumplings are still great. We also had the quesadilla. My wife liked it, I thought it was generic. We both thought the loaded tots were a major fail, the 'load', what little there was of it, had all fallen off and was in the bottom of the bowl. The draft beer choice is also weak, with Goose Island being their premium beer. I hope they change up their menu for the better.“

“I had a 30 year high school reunion on May 3, 2024 at 3 pm. Everyone had a great time meeting with old friends again. The restaurant is quite spacious and accommodating for our needs.“

We originally weren’t to fond of one of the food items out she relayed our concerns to the manager and kitchen and got it squared away to ensure we still had a good time. “What a cute concept! I’ve heard about Metrobar but finally went recently. During the cooler evenings, there are heaters for the outside seatings, and inside the car is just as toasty.

Ordering is a little weird. You can order drinks from the bar or scan the QR code. However, when using the QR code, the drinks come from outside, not made by the bartender in the metro car.

There’s also food on side where you can go outside and order or you can scan the food QR code. However, ordering from the QR code, you have to pick up the food a little ways down from the bar.

Now that the concept is more understood, it’ll be easier for me to order more appropriately.“

“Came on a Saturday night. Wasn't crowded at all. Wish it was opened up, but I guess it was too chilly. Ordered the shredded beef tacos, delicious!! I ordered a cadillac margarita, it was ok. Not as strong as o would've liked. The calamari was also ordered, it was just ok. Will definitely be back for those tacos. Nice little roof top. It did feel like we were being rushed at the end, but all good.“

The rebrand into Problem Child was the greatest decision to happen. Everything works - the staff, the event nights, the drinks, the food it all works in perfect cohesion. I’ve been a regular since it’s opened and it’s become second home, a testament to Justin and his staff. Lots of navy yard locals can and do relate. They’re such a great brand and do a phenomenal job in marketing themselves, so one thing I’d like is bar merch. Shirts, hats, coozies, stickers, vests the whole nine. I and navy yard want it all. I love talking about the place, and merchandise provides a great conversation starter on the topic. Hopefully we’ll have some merch soon!“

“I've been to District Alley on H St and District Alley on U St. The three owners Nate, Danielle and Marq are very hospitable and kind. The atmosphere is very welcoming. They have notable DJ's who spin at both spots, the drinks are on point and so is the food. I highly recommend you check them out.“
