“This was easy when staying at the Crown, nice atmosphere with happy hour until 6pm. Service is great and food is good for a small menu but great choices. I had grilled chicken thighs on rice with a side salad and it was very tasty. I’m back again but just with chicken Caesar salad, good beer and drink choices too.“

When you walk in you immediately feel like you’re being welcomed into someone’s home. The aesthetic, the playlists 1110/10. The staff are all beyond kind and friendly. Danny immediately made us feel at home as he explained the personal story and flavors behind each drink. I cannot say enough about how great the ambience, service and drinks 110000/10. The baked Alaska is a MUST TRY. I’ve never had anything like it before and cannot describe how priceless of an experience it was. Also, you can ask for a little gato on your drink and take it home for a small adoption fee!! Can’t wait to go back again!!“

“In town for my birthday and found Trouble Bird in my search for a good cocktail bar. I was absolutely NOT disappointed. Bartender and server(didn't get their names) were very knowledgeable, drinks and food were made with care and the service was excellent. I come from a control state so their rum selection felt like it was excellently curated, and offered a lot of balance. Felt like a kid in a candy store. (Though a little worried it came across as more of a drug addict to the bartender😂) Definitely plan on returning next time I'm in town (probably even before I head back home this time around) and would certainly recommend to friends and family.“

“The wings were very good. However, the gumbo was not. It was very skimpy on the meat, and I didn’t find any okra at all. It was also a bit under-seasoned for my taste.

The Henry Pineapple Peach drink was good, but in my opinion, it wasn’t quite enough to share.

That said, Jordan was great! I hope I get seated in his section next time. He was very patient while we were being indecisive and provided excellent service throughout our visit.

“We recently visited Focus Social Club for the dinner reservation experience, and overall, we had a great time.

First, the space is absolutely beautiful. I love exposed pipework and brick walls, and this place nailed the aesthetic. The decor gives off an upscale industrial vibe that's both stylish and inviting.

We had a large party, and we were seated right away. Our server was amazing—friendly, attentive, and incredibly patient with our group throughout the evening.

Now let's talk about the food. Everything we ordered was delicious, including the spinach dip, firecracker shrimp, lamb chops, teriyaki salmon, platters, and Philly cheesesteak egg rolls. But the star of the night was hands down the vegetable fried rice. I don't know what magic they put in that rice, but it was perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and so good that we started ordering extra sides just to eat by themselves!

The drinks were also mixed perfectly and complemented the meal well.

One thing to note: this is not a budget-friendly spot. Be prepared to spend a little money, as even a couple of items can add up quickly.

As the evening progressed, it became clear that the venue caters to a younger crowd, especially once the DJ arrived and the nightlife atmosphere kicked in. We definitely noticed the shift in energy. While we may not have been the target demographic, we still enjoyed the early-evening vibe, great conversation, delicious food, and excellent service before heading back to our hotels.

If you're looking for a beautiful space, great food, good drinks, and a lively atmosphere, Focus Social Club is worth checking out. My advice: go earlier in the evening if you want a more relaxed dining experience before the nightlife crowd arrives. 💜“

“I’d heard good things and so I had to check it out; I’m glad I did. Probably the one downside is parking, either street or garage, but you will pay. Staff are very friendly, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. We ordered a potato, and a smothered onion (with pepperoni). While both were good, the potato was truly a star and one I would probably order on every visit.“

“Food rocks, beer prices are INSANE. Literally has to be the cheapest beer in DC. Bar service is great, food runners got mixed up a couple times. Overall, I love this bar. Has the authentic local feel that's missing from a lot of DC sports bars. My only suggestion is they start selling merch because I would rep a Problem Child shirt, hat, and/or koozie on a regular basis.“
