The best part was our server "Ciara R", she was excellent and provided the best service to my party guest. I would definitely have another event here and would request to have Ciara again. “We recently had an early dinner at Sunshine Grille. The waiter was very kind, knowledgeable and attentive. And the food was amazing. I had the Salmon bowl and my husband had the pork chops! Oh, and the dessert’s! Of course we ordered a dessert to go! We’ll be back soon!“

“I got the vegan jerk chicken, yams and kale (greens) and I am so obsessed. The chicken is a wonderful texture including the breading which was perfectly crispy. The greens are addictive and I wish I had 10 more portions. The yams are good, a bit too sweet for me but not an issue at all. I will definitely be ordering from here a bunch more! “Marta manages to be both lively and cozy simultaneously in a rowhouse that previously housed Salt (one of my all time favorite upscale restaurants) We went for a friend's birthday, and all 3 courses were delicious, beautifully presented, inventive, and not the same old menu that you find everywhere. Very sweet wait staff was super attentive, educated about the food and wine and made great suggestions. Our original wait staff had an emergency and had to leave in the middle of service, but seamlessly another wait person stepped in to covered us. Kudos to the front of house team for handling with such skill and ease. But the food was definitely the star of the show. For me, the standout was the tuna cannoli. I'm not even sure I can do justice to this deliciousness with a crunchy outer "cannoli" shell with a slight hint of sweet surrounding a creamy center of tuna crudi with little dots of avocado cream. And all was covered with a pistachio "dust." The spicy meatballs were delectable nestled in a cloud of creamy spicy ricotta. And the Duck and Foie Gras Panzotti (little triangle ravioli) was creamy, delicious and the perfect combination of delicate tastes. And the Tiramisu Affogato ended the dinner on a delicious note! And for two people with drinks it was really pretty a good deal for the quality if the food, service and location. We will be back! Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5“

“I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Ampersea! From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. Joey was absolutely fantastic - setting us up at a table with an amazing view and checking on us multiple times during our visit. He offered to take our coats after we were seated and then offered to take pictures of us when we were on our way out. Ampersea has definitely been the most positive experience we have had during our trip. I can honestly say that Joey is the sole reason we cannot wait to come back to enjoy a meal and a drink (or 2, or 3 haha) once the weather is nicer! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!“

“Our first experience here was amazing! We began with a drink. I got a glass of wine and while the wine list isn’t extensive it was good for the price! My fiancé got an old fashioned and he enjoyed it! We got the Thai chili wings to start which were soooo good! Crunchy and full of flavor! For our entrees we got the burger smash style with caramelized onions instead of red onions! We also got the cauliflower crunchy tacos! They were spectacular! Both of us had drinks a starter and entrees for under $80. You could easily eat here just a meal for $30 a piece! Great experience!“

“There are not enough stars in the sky to give this place. Talk about creating fantastic dishes they make such wonderful flavor combinations. They use fresh ingredients it’s very evident in the high quality of food that they provide. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing and the vibes are indescribable. My waiter was Jimmy today I ordered the Halibut after I asked what it was 😂😂😂. He told me it was delicious and one of his favorite fish. The man was spot on it was absolutely amazing how every was seasoned and grilled to beyond perfection. My girlfriend ordered the Chicken Chesapeake it was an absolute hit.I don’t know which one was better but I’d love to have a serving of either one again anytime. Oysters were perfect this place has quickly become a huge place of interest. We both look forward to returning and I will suggest this amazing food to anyone. What great food and a great time.“

“Went here for a family celebration and my husband and I couldn’t stop talking about the food on the way home. The 3 course meal + wine pairings was such a great value and I now know I need to have more Cabernet Sauvignon in my life. The truffle frites were some of the best I’ve ever had, actual truffles not just truffle oil. And the grilled Cesar salad, with the fried capers; will be doing that from now on! I loved everything I had, and everything that was shared between family. Would definitely recommend this place!“

For a diner, it’s certainly higher end. Not pretentious but the food is very good.

Ordered the Cod which I loved. Flavor profile worked while being on the healthier side. Paired with their Pinot Noir and was lovely

“I just wanted to say what an awesome experience Barracudas and Billy provided for my family. We held a surprise 90th birthday party for my Mom there on Saturday and it was perfect. The food was delicious as usual and the service was phenomenal. Abby did a great job taking care of us. Big shout out to the kitchen staff and everyone else who assisted in making my Mom feel loved and appreciated. I live 2 hours from the restaurant, but I make it a point to stop in almost everytime for food and drinks. Everyone has their own opinion concerning the restaurant and staff. In 10 years I have never had a bad experience here or seen anything out of the ordinary reacting to the staff or ownership. I have seen intoxicated patrons but that's it. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a meal or a drink. You won't be disappointed.“

“I stop by once in a blue moon- most recently on the Saturday before Christmas while finishing up my shopping. I overheard a staff member telling another customer the wild salmon Niçoise was her favorite so I decided to order it. It was delicious, packed with flavor and very filling. I would absolutely order it again.

This location’s interior would benefit from an interior upgrade or even just a refresh. Of course the space is still functional, but it has a 90s/early 2000s feel to it and it would be nice to see how it would feel with some new touches. New tables and better lighting can really go a long way.“

“Used to be one of my favorite diners around, and I'm a diner sort of guy. But I went for breakfast yesterday, and came away disappointed. The pricing was high for an old school, non-fancy, non-retro diner. Many breakfast menu items that would come with other stuff at most diners were add-on options and not cheap. While there between 2-4 tables were occupied, but despite that the waitress brought the wrong type of toast (mistakes happen... no problem), and compounded that by not coming back to offer a top-off on coffee until I had stacked up my plates and was ready to go.

Was going to give a 3 stars, as I'd rate the three subjects above as 3.5, but opted to go with 4 based on nostalgic appreciation of better experiences at the diner.“
