“Best Peruvian chicken, everything else is just charbroil chicken. Nothing compares to the flavor. The only dislike I have is that the beans count as a side, and rice counts as another side. “It's impossible not to compare Don Pollo to other local Peruvian chicken places, like Crisp & Juicy or el Pollo Rico. Because of that there's a high bar set. The chicken is fresh, juicy, and well seasoned, but I'd have preferred a more crispy skin. The black beans and rice lacked flavor, definitely needed salt. The fries were where they lost me. They weren't fresh, weren't seasoned, weren't hot, and worst of all, they were kind of soggy. The sauces were very good. You get a bright green spicy sauce, that seems to be made from fresh peppers, perhaps jalapeño. Then there's a mayo based creamy orange colored sauce. Frankly because the chicken is so well seasoned, I don't think it needs sauce, but it's nice to have the option.“

“This place is almost always hopping so we decided to try it for ourselves. The chicken was very flavorful and juicy, the yucca had good flavor but also was very soggy by the time we got home a little less than 10 minutes later. The beans were a bland, but the Peruvian fried rice was top notch.

It won't replace our normal go to spot for pollo a la brasa but it's easy to see why these guys have been in business since the 80s. Would definitely recommend trying this spot out.“

“I went to Crisp and Juicy on April 23rd, in the evening alone. I hadn't been to the restaurant in a long time, so I was a little indecisive on what I wanted. The young lady that was at the register was as sweet as could be, and I'm sorry I didn't get her name. I wanted to order a platter for 2, and asked what her recommendation was to feed 2 people. So, I ordered what she recommended, and asked for a lot of sauce. The order came up quick, and I thanked her. Bless her. She gave me so much sauce. I just wanted everyone to know how much this impacted my evening, because my oldest daughter Ayanna loved your restaurant! She was murdered in 2020. She was 18 years old. “We were initially reluctant to try this place because my son is vegetarian. So we were surprised by how much vegetarian options they had, not just sides. My son had the veggie burrito but they also had a veggie platter, veggie quesadillas, veggie empanadas, and taco salad (ask for no chicken). My husband had the salcipapa, which is a Peruvian street snack of sausages and fries. Nice clean sitting area too.“

“Finding a Nicaraguan restaurant is really hard, so I'm glad the first one I went to after coming back from Nicaragua was Gio's. Now I don't have to worry about finding another one.

The owner, Santos, is a great guy, very friendly and accommodating. The menu is varied and still serves chicken, only now it it Nicaraguan style.

This is a great place to try if you want a twist on Hispanic food you've never had before.“
