“We had our wedding at the Commentary on 5/31/25 and we could not be more thrilled with our experience. Olivia Martel and Chef Fran were PHENOMENAL to work with. Anything we wanted, we got. We wanted a low key, chill wedding, and decided on stations and the pasta bar with a plethora of appetizers and the execution was a 10/10. We loved having the whole bar and restaurant to ourselves in Ballston and welcoming guests from across the country and being in the Commentary’s/Westin’s care. They took really great care of us and we couldn’t be more grateful for the most beautiful day of our lives.“

The Ravini Politiko, coconut cake was the best I ever ate! The Thalissina, seafood pasta had plenty of seafood in it and delicious. Even the cappaccino was delicious, very smooth, no bitterness and taste great with dessert! The server, Baris, was attentive, friendly and did a great job taking care of us. “I thought I had booked the omakase experience, but realized I accidentally selected the wrong option, which was disappointing at first. The staff explained they prepare omakase for a set number of guests, so they couldn’t accommodate us last-minute.
That said, the manager and his staff, our wonderful server completely turned the experience around with their kindness. They comped part of our meal, brought out desserts for my husband’s birthday, and even treated me to a mocktail. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the night feel really special.

The service was warm and attentive, and we still had an amazing time. I’ve already booked omakase for next week and can’t wait to come back!

“I love this place! They have a bunch of local and craft beers on tap and one of the best selections of beers for retail in the area. If there is a beer you are looking for but can’t find, as long as the county sticks it, Ashish (the fabulous, friendly owner) will order it. The store is very clean and bright, I never have trouble finding parking, and the prices are on par with other stores. In the wine side of things, there is a good variety and prices seem a little lower than other area stores.“
