After driving around in circles, I searched for another location—only to find that it was closed for a while, which was incredibly frustrating.

Fortunately, I stumbled upon Sandwiches & Smoothies (S&S) across the street. The food was delicious, the smoothies were fantastic, and the customer service was excellent! “The place was really cute though my photo doesn’t do it justice. They had bright lighting and a high ceiling. We went during the Wharf boat parade so it was great hideout from the cold and the crowd.

I ordered on the kiosk when I walked in. The service was fast and the sandwich was fresh. I ordered the Retzo sandwich with chicken cutlet and it had this sweet and spicy sauce that was perfect for the weather.“

Every part of the sandwich is created in house except for raising the animals for the meat.Trying every sandwich at their launch party, every single one was delicious, especially with the housemade buns. However, my favorite was the “Chivito” with beef, ham, bacon, egg, and more. The “Ampburger” tastes like a gourmet Big Mac and it’s everything.Their wedge fries are crispy and nice. The homemade chocolate chip cookies are chocolate heavy and always warm. Super legit sandwich shop located inside some kind of mixed offices building, very close to the metro. From cold sandwiches to wraps to the hot stuff, these guys really know whats up. Very kind and efficient staff without too many frills. Skip that Potbelly down the street, this is the best sandwich spot you'll find south of the Potomac.“

The music was so loud we could not even talk while we ate our lunch. As other people came in we noticed they were also asking for things to be repeated a few times. He was so accommodating and made a special turkey sandwich for my son, who raved to anyone that would listen by our gate that it was the best sandwich he'd ever had lolol.
