“I was looking for a specific kind of cake for my daughter's baby shower. She is an artist and wanted a simple, but specific "naked" cake to add her own topper she created along with some fresh flowers. I called around the area and got snubbed a couple of times. One of the places I called actually referred me to the Walmart Bakery in Severn, and told me to ask for the bakery manager, Tonya. I did a google search and saw they had great reviews. I went to the store in the morning and met with Tonya. She was INCREDIBLE...Personable, knowledgeable and so reassuring. She knew exactly what I was looking for. I placed the order about 2 weeks in advance and when I picked it up the day before the event, I was blown away. The cake was exactly what we wanted. The best part was how the cake tasted. I had more people ask me where I got the cake than anything else we served. There was only a couple of tiny pieces left, and that's because we saved them before the cake was gone. The cake was a "10!" Tonya was instrumental in helping me decide on all of the details. I am serious, she is one of a kind. Next time you are planning an event and looking for a special cake, call Walmart in Severn, MD. You will be pleasantly surprised.“
“What a find. Lots of good bakeries but this place is elite. There’s always a line out the door as there are specific times in the day the breads will be baked. Check their website for details. Otherwise you very well could end up getting there when no inventory is left. This place is awesome.“
“We were looking for a place to stop to eat on the way home from DC. So happy we found Bon Fresco! We got the London Broil sandwich and the Fresh Mozz and Tomato sandwich. Both were fantastic! We ate them so fast we forgot to take pictures! The bread was perfect. Soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. If we weren't full we could have eaten multiple of each. The staff was very friendly and the service was fast and pleasant. There are plenty of tables to sit down and eat and the ambiance was that of a deli. We loved it! If we are ever back in Columbia, MD we will definitely hit up Bon Fresco again!!“
“I stopped at Morning Mugs Coffee before an Orioles game (Go O’s) and it was the perfect cup of coffee before a game. The cafe was vibrantly decorated, with a relaxing outside seating area out front. All the pastries were fresh and delicious. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Just a great spot for the City of Baltimore.“
“This bake shop is one of my very favorite places and this review is long overdue. Wonderful sandwiches, and the baked goods are to die for. The sandwich menu is pretty consistent and some baked goods are made each day. However most baked goods are made in small batches and vary day to day. There are specials-one of my favorites is the griddled Mac and cheese. Today was a Lord of the Rings celebration with Samwise stew! I also scored a King cake brioche donut and a tiramisu croissant. I am in heaven!“

“I had no idea what we were in for. What a pleasant surprise! You know it's an exceptional spot when there is a swarm of people continuously going in and out--nonstop. Busy, busy, busy! When you walk in you are serenaded with easy acoustic music and your nose goes in overdrive due to the numerous sweet aromas--chai, espresso, cakes, breads and pastries. The back and right sides are areas deemed for sitting, gathering, studying and...eating! The cash wrap is in the middle section and the items for sale are on the left. There is NO direction or signs on how or what to do when you get in so I figured I'd make my review a bit of a guide: If you're here solely for picking up an order, making a custom order, grabbing a slice of cake or for coffee, you can go straight to the cash wrap. If you are here for pastries (etc.), you'll start on the left. This area is self-serve. Grab a tray, a tray liner and OPEN the little disinfectant oven container to grab a pair of tongs. Brace yourself. You are now ready to turn around into the abyss of desserts. DON'T THINK ABOUT CALORIES. DON'T THINK ABOUT BEING JUDGED FOR ADDING 100 TREATS TO YOUR TRAY. TREAT YO'SELF. Along the wall are breads, coffee beans, and other bagged items. The containers in the middle of the section contains all the freshly made items which you can open yourself and use your tongs to place them on your tray. Each item has a display card that includes ingredients and calorie information. If you want to remember what you selected, take a picture because the packaging is not English. *In addition to the pastries, there are cakes and cake pieces--cake pieces are only available until they last--you MUST try one. Cakes is what Tous Les Jours excels at. The cake section is on the left side of the cash wrap. If you want cake, you'll order it at the cash wrap. I tried the sweet potato pastry (5/5), the melon bread (2/5), strawberry shortcake (2/5), chai tea (3/5), milk crème bread (5/5), strawberry yogurt cake (5/5). It is officially my favorite bakery.“
“This must be a popular place as two different Baltimore friends have brought me here. The first time, we came in the late afternoon and almost everything was out. This time, we got here earlier. I was told to get the quesadillas! Interestingly, they were nothing like quesadillas. They seemed like little circular corn muffins with some cheese. They were very moist and delicious. I never leave a bakery with just one type of item. The cronuts were good. They were a little sweeter than I would like. What stole the show was the cream puff. It's hard to make bad cream puffs. I appreciated that the cream was not too sweet at all.“

“I've bought bread made by the Breadery at other markets, but Friday was the first time I ever made it into the shop. The place is a carb lover's dream. It's one of those spots that invites you to roam and look at the coffee, the olive oil or even a six-pack of local beer. The real star though is the bread of course. Simply put, their sourdough is the best I've ever had. It's a perfectly chewy, slightly salty bread that is perfect for every application. Their cinnamon swirl bread is much loved by the kids at home for its French toast qualities. It's one of those places that makes you want to try everything and makes you realize how awful our store bought, mass produced sandwich bread really is.“

We had a 10" round almond cake with amaretto raspberry filling and French buttercream icing for our "personal" cutting cake. We also had a half sheet yellow/chocolate cake with cannoli filling and French buttercream icing for our serving cake (cut behind the scenes). We had 75 guests and we had about 20 servings leftover.“

I have been ordering a cheesecake from Sumayyah for the last couple of years because my little sister specifically requests it every time she visits me from out of town. “Major props for treating gluten free bread as the half-sized slices they are. This is the first place I've been to that spreads the sandwich contents across two small sandwiches. Every other place either attempts to stuff the insides onto puny slices (rarely) or more likely, simply gives you less. In those places, not only are you paying through the nose for GF bread, but you then get less food for the privilege. NOT SO at Atwater's.
