“I was looking for a birthday cake last minute for my pup’s birthday. I called around and most places were unable to accommodate me due to the tight turnaround time. That’s when I reached out to VS Doggy Treats on Google. I spoke with the owner and she was so sweet and more than happy to take my order. She made the cake in literally one day! I was so happy. When I went to pick up the cake, she even threw in some organic treats for my pup. The owner is such a sweet soul and she deserves more business. Her customer service is top tier! Thank you again. If I had to critique the place it would be they need a 2nd barista, or a cheap intercom system. The tiny place only holds 6 people (and a dog!) and 5 of those are standing around waiting for their coffee.“

For the morning of my wedding, I also ordered several quiches and pastries. “I miss when they used to do that monopoly thing where you would buy foods and fill out this paper monopoly bored for prizes. It was so much fun, I remember dozens of glue sticks being used dry pasting the food labels onto the paper bored with my family. It was placed in the middle of our dining room table like a bowl of fruit, and me and my little brother would beg my grandma every time she went to the store to get the “monopoly food”. She always did, even though it costed more than the regular groceries that were the same exact thing. We never won anything, no free vacations or Nintendo DS’s, but it still brightened my day every single time I glued a piece of paper on that damn board. I think we won in that way.

“All their food tastes as good as it looks. I did takeout for our whole family and we got everything from tacos and burritos to the chicken soup and the tilapia platter. Everybody was happy with their meal and it was all fresh ingredients, made to order, hot and good. The down side was the wait - they were overrun with phone orders and could not give me a proper estimate. They told me it would be 30 minutes but it took over an hour. Would have been better to just set that expectation in advance - frankly, the excellent quality of the food was worth the wait!

“We enjoyed our tea and sandwiches, but unfortunately they were out of the vegan mayo (I’m allergic to raw eggs). When it came to the scones we were deeply disappointed! They were dry and crunchy! When I brought them back they apologized and said they would make fresh ones. We sat down and chatted enjoying our teas. When we realized it had gone a long time, I went back to the counter and asked. They looked sheepishly as they realize they forgot them in the oven and they were even crunchier. So they promised they would make a new batch, a THIRD batch for us. When they finally arrived. They were hot a little bit crunchy, but the texture was very strange. It was not like any other scones I’ve ever had before. I have been to Emma‘s before, I’ve been to other tea room, I have had scones in Europe, I have made scones myself, but these were strange… we figured that these had been baked in an air fryer because the texture was so strange. So the scones were big let down, especially since we had to pay separately for the clotted cream and the jam that was an almost another $12 just for that. I will never have scones here again.“

“Nice crew here. Saw me pull in and ran out to check my destination, immediately put me in a door. Pretty tight to maneuver and it will be a blindside 90 to get in the dock. Wasn't busy when I showed up. I can see how it could be a nightmare if it was though. Started loading me within minutes of hitting the dock. I did arrive about 45 minutes early.Assume there is no overnight parking from how small the place is and they also have day cab drivers that work here so they park all their trucks in the lot at night“

They also forgot to bring out the sour cream for the pierogies. The women were nice about it all.

“I worked here for 10 years in the industrial Engineering department (Maintenance). Compared to other companies in the industry the salary is kind of low, but for anyone looking to start a career in this field it’s probably the best option there is. They will accept anyone who is willing to work and learn and they will train you. Most people spend a few years learning the trade and then move on to make more money. Myself included. I don’t understand why ownership would allow their best guys to leave that way rather than structuring something to compensate them for all their experience and skill, but that’s just how it is there. This is not to say you can’t make a decent living there because you can, but just not what could be made elsewhere. The high pace makes for a great learning environment. It’s extremely hot there, but most places are. That place will always be like a second home to me. I loved working there. If they could match my salary I would go back. That will never happen though for reason I’ve explained here already. They have extremely good benefits compared to anywhere else. Cheapest and great coverage. 401k is kind of low. Overall, best place for low experience people and a great place to work, but not somewhere to expect $100k a year or more. I always send people to them for jobs still and I’ve been gone for a couple years now. It’s just a great place to work.“
