“I came here yesterday to check out Enchanted Cakes on Harford Road in Parkville. The interior is fun and colorful. I bought a couple of doughnuts and a large M&M cookie. We requested a strawberry shortcake with fresh strawberries and a custom icing design, and she did such a wonderful job. I (the bride) was the only vegan at the wedding, and everyone said it was one of the best wedding cakes they've ever had. “Quality food, good ambience. Our standby for 40 years had been Ikaros a block away, but the owner had to close due to health problems. This was recommended to us as the new best, and it didn’t disappoint. Wine, saganaki and moussaka were all incredible. Wish I had tried the calamari. Only thing that was not incredible was the bread served at table. I’m a bread snob, and while this wasn’t awful, it was merely ok. I would have preferred a thicker, fresher bread and olive oil for dipping, or traditional greek flat bread.“
“What a find! When in Baltimore’s Little Italy be sure to stop in at the Ovenbird Bakery! They are super friendly & helpful and their bread is delicious! I’d recommend the olive sourdough bread. I’ve been toasting mine and eating it with a variety of toppings. Yum!They have sandwiches and other bread choices... Be aware that the deli closes at 3:00 and that discounts on some purchases occur after 2:00. There is also “day old” bread that you can purchase. If it isn’t sold, they donate it. Isn’t that wonderful?! I myself, love to make homemade croutons or bruschetta.Street parking availability depends on the day & time.I’d suggest making a day of your visit to Little Italy.Parking: Free street parking during the day not far from the bakery.“

I was told to get the quesadillas! Interestingly, they were nothing like quesadillas. They seemed like little circular corn muffins with some cheese. They were very moist and delicious. I never leave a bakery with just one type of item. The cronuts were good. They were a little sweeter than I would like. What stole the show was the cream puff. It's hard to make bad cream puffs. I appreciated that the cream was not too sweet at all.“

The cupcakes are a great alternative to a standard cake when you are trying to please a crowd that has various flavor preferences. I brought a dozen to a farewell party and they were a complete hit! The flavors and textures are unique. Also, for every single holiday, they have special cupcakes in celebratory colors to appropriately commemorate each occasion. So far, my all-time favorite cupcake is coconut with a graham cracker crust. It's exciting to not know which flavors they will have on offer. I enjoy being surprised and trying them all! The cupcakes freeze well. However, I think the cupcakes taste best when they are fresh. I prefer to eat them immediately and for breakfast the next day. If Cake had a membership I would eat more Cake. So it is probably better that, to my knowledge, they do not.“

I have been ordering a cheesecake from Sumayyah for the last couple of years because my little sister specifically requests it every time she visits me from out of town. “This is my third time at Pie Time! We moved to the area in January of this year, and so far I have tried a few gems here! The mini Chicken Pot Pie was super good, very savory stuffed with fresh herbs! My partner tried the carne asada pie which he crushed(I assume it was great!) I have tried a regular latte which was pretty good, but the pies are definitely the best thing here! Highly recommend if you're in the area! It's a small cozy spot, so make sure to come early if you wanna grab a table (they can probably seat about 12-15 people inside). They even have a little freezer for pies to go!“

The Chocolate eClair is massive but amazing. I start by cutting it up and take a week to eat it. It is about 12 inches long. We called ahead a.few minutes before all 15 of us showed up and the staff didn't skip a beat. They graciously and quickly got us seated by combining tables together. Everyone found delicious options off the menu and the out of towners couldn't say enough about how much they enjoyed this local spot. The latest configuration of the store is streamlined and roomier which comes in handy when the vast swirling hordes of eager customers descend at busy times. If they are that aware and innovative about space & flow, it can't help to carry over to other areas such as in store baked goods.
