“I wrote off pizza a long time ago. Honestly, 99% of places are just serving the same boring dough covered in what can only be described as pizza garbage. Then I stumbled into Rad Pies while my daughter was at True AP. I figured, sure, pizza’s pizza… how good could it be? Friends, I was not prepared. The quality. The thoughtfulness. The flavor. The execution. It was the kind of pizza that makes you pause mid-bite and question every other pizza decision you’ve ever made. At first I thought maybe I was just having a bad day and my standards had fallen to “free breadstick at a gas station.” So we went back the next weekend to test the theory. We meant to try the deep dish, but instead ordered one topped with arugula, butternut squash, and candied walnuts. Listen… this pizza was so good it makes your eyes roll back in your head, slap-your-mama delicious. I’m not exaggerating when I say Rad Pies is the best pizza I’ve ever had. Yes, I said it. Better than pizza in New York City. I said what I said. Do not walk. RUN to Cushwa Brewing Company and get yourself a Rad Pie. Your taste buds will thank you. Your standards for pizza everywhere else… will be permanently ruined.“

“My husband and I have been dining at Little Alex’s for around 5 years now but today I felt compelled to make a review! The food is ALWAYS delicious & it’s the only local pizza that gets close to pizza from my home town. In addition I want to comment on how CLEAN their restaurant is & what got me today is that this is the first time I’ve used their restroom in-house and it was SOOOO CLEAN. That speaks volumes to me. The floor, the walls, the toilet, the sink - spotless. It didn’t have any spell to it and it is clear that they take great pride in their space. “Having lived in Westchester County, New York, for several years, I like to think I’ve developed a pretty good sense of what authentic New York pizza should look and taste like. And let me tell you, Giovanni’s NY Pizza did not disappoint!

What an unexpected gem to discover in the middle of West Virginia! The restaurant is run by a former Marine, and we were personally greeted by the owner, who prepared a fresh pizza right in front of us, complete with a delicious assortment of toppings.

Oh my, was it good! So good, in fact, that we ended up ordering two more pies to take home!

Everything about this pizza reminded me of what I loved about New York pizza. The crust had that perfect crunch on the outside while remaining soft and airy on the inside, with a wonderful hint of olive oil. The tomato sauce was rich, beautifully seasoned, and bursting with flavor, complemented by delicious mozzarella melted to perfection. Every bite was a reminder of how good a properly made New York pizza can be.

And here’s what impressed me even more. When we got home, we reheated the extra pizzas slowly in the oven, taking our time to bring them back to temperature. They hadn’t lost a thing! The crust was still wonderful, the flavors just as vibrant, and the cheese just as delicious. They tasted almost every bit as good as they had fresh out of Giovanni’s oven. Now that’s the sign of a pizza made right!

And the value? Almost unbelievable! Less than ten dollars for two generously sized slices, made fresh to order, and a drink. These days, finding that combination of quality, authenticity, and affordability is a rarity.

Giovanni’s is proof that you don’t have to be in New York to enjoy a fantastic New York-style pizza. Great food, genuine hospitality, and exceptional value. We came in expecting a quick bite and left with two extra pizzas and a new favorite spot.

“Finally made it over to this very tasty place for a Sunday afternoon away from the farm to run some errands too. The amount of variety of food is wonderful. Salad, pasta, veggies like green beans and squash as well as the fresh pizza and the dessert apple pizza as well as pudding on the bar too. We enjoyed the fresh very tasty pizza. I loved the squash/zucchini mixture on the buffet it was a nice option in the middle of January. Definitely will be back! For $12.49 per person it was definitely worth the money. “I love the food here. I've always had great food and it's really affordable compared to other places. I usually get delivery because I don't eat out anymore but this isn't really a place for that although you can if you want. The delivery drivers are really great though, always make sure you tip them good. Their veggie quesadillas and French fries are really good.
The only downside is the parking lot. There's always parking when I go but it's tiny. It does have 2 entrances though, as it's on a corner.“

Update: I went back to get a calzone at 6:40 PM. I was informed the pizza oven was down only after I had already seated and waited a couple minutes. My favorite table was also off center and wobbly. Just all around disappointed today.“

“I don't get a chance to go out to eat often, but it was my birthday and my family took me to Cafe del Sol on Salem Ave. I've been there before and it was always nice. But this visit was far above what I've experienced before. Our server, Caleb, was phenomenal. I'm used to friendly enough staff, but Caleb seemed personally motivated to make sure my family felt welcome and that we had a great experience. He succeeded and I hope that the next time I get a chance to dine out, we will be lucky enough to have him as a server. We had the smallest oops with one of our menu items and he was like a man on a mission to make sure everything was taken care of quickly and that everything was perfect. “Went November 2025. Molly was our server which enhanced our experience. We both had the fries and burgers. I had the sweet potato fries and had caramel to dip. The burgers filled the buns and was very tasty. Spectacular service. Molly was very friendly and attentive. The dinner was even better knowing your server was checking in. “We order the steak & cheese & crab fries w a pizza every time & let me start with saying we picked up from the place & drive home before eating which is about a 20 minute drive the steak & cheese was not greasy at all the fries were loaded with real crab melted cheese & believe it it not the fries were still crispy & delicious after the drive home with plenty to share with the hubby.
