Stopped in during a visit to bar harbor this past weekend and were well taken care of by the staff who provided great food and beverage recommendations, also attentive with the service! Be sure to try the blue corn chips and if you like spice - try the hot salsa!“
“We were here on vacation from Indiana and loved the atmosphere! Happy hour oysters and drinks were awesome (the gin blueberry special drink is great). Staff was very nice, Skylar and Amy (Aimee) were very friendly and knowledgeable.“

“I my opinion, this is the best restaurant in Bar Harbor. The lobster bisque is exceptional! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Was here 3 years ago and back again yesterday! Perfect Maine!“

“You must eat here! The atmosphere is lovely and laid back. The drinks (and mocktails) are wonderful. The food... the food is fantastic! You can't go wrong with the apps, but the Dilly Pickled Veg is the perfect little zippy snack while you wait for your dinner. The entire dinner menu is truly inspired. The bang bang fried chicken is always a personal go to... but I opted for the Crab BLT tonight and was blown away! My hubby had the Lamb Shwarma and practically licked his plate... the pita alone was a light, fluffy delight. If you order the fries, which you most certainly should, get the garlic aioli... you'll thank me later, it's also good with the lamb. ;)“

“We tried Royal Indian for the first time one month ago. We had the butter chicken, butter lobster, naan, and lamb korma. It was our first time eating Indian food from a restaurant and we were very pleased with our meals! The entrees were very filling and some of the best food we’ve eaten in bar harbor. The staff were all super friendly and quick. We’re now using this as our go to takeout order spot!“

“This place is a MUST! Over the week we have been in Bar Harbor we have ate at A LOT of places, Tap & Barrel is hands the best meal I’ve had here by a long shot. Marina was super knowledgeable and gave 15/10 service! You will not regret stopping here and grabbing a bite to eat or even just some drinks!“

“A fantastic meal! The owner sat down with us to help us figure out how to best open the lobster because we hadn’t done it many times. He and the staff were extremely friendly. Very reasonably priced and the food was incredible! Highly recommended! Thank you!“

“It was our first day in Bar Harbor and we chose Galyn’s for dinner. It was delicious. We sat on their front porch overlooking the harbor. The food was great and our waitress was so nice; very pleasant. We had the stuffed crab mushrooms, haddock sandwiches and blueberry crisp-a la mode for dessert. Yummy.“

“Wanted to try this place for lunch and it did not disappoint— I had the Maine lobster dinner and it was all delicious. My husband had the lobster roll with a salad. Our server, Kevin, was very friendly and attentive. We were hoping to sit inside since it was quite breezy outside, but didn’t know they don’t serve inside until 4 p.m. and we didn’t want to wait. If you can eat inside it is much better—still pretty views without the elements! You can sit by the firepit, but I believe the menu is limited. Parking around Bar Harbor is tight—we managed to get a spot in the lot near the Inn.“

“It's an interesting spot. Nice view of the harbor, good for people watching. It's a big place. We ate inside. I'll say, out waiter, I believe his name is Erman, very good waiter. Ok, so drinks we had a Tullamore Dew Old Fashioned. I think it was called an Irish Old Fashioned? Partner ordered a margarita. Both were pretty good. Appetizers, Poutine and Lobster salad. Both were really good. For entrees, we got the Shirt Rib and a Steak. Short Rib was pretty good. Steak was good but a tad over cooked. All in all good spot service and a filling meal.“

“Nice place with very vibrant atmosphere. Very few vegetarian options , the quinoa burger was not available, but salads and hummus plate were good. Other members in our group had fish n chip and chicken salad , and they loved it. Would be good place for sea food lovers. They have some draft beers which are also nice. Overall a good experience in a prime bar harbor downtown.“

“Yesterday my daughter and I were excited to take my husband to Blaze as we had such a great experience previously. We had our lab/Pyranese mix Tucker Lee with us. Sam, the bartender greeted us and she proceeded to take our orders/make us drinks. We enjoyed our meal and enjoyed the music next door. Tucker Lee Sat at our feet watching his surroundings and waiting for some treats from us. He let out a little bark 3 times. They were quick minor barks looking to go make friends and he quickly settled back down. No one was near us and no one in the surrounding tables even flinched as we were in a dog friendly town/bar or so we thought. Sam decided she no longer wanted us there. With my drink still half full she told us she was going to get our bill together as she was uncomfortable and that we should not have a reactive dog in public. She then went on to tell us she works with animals. This same dog that apparently made her uncomfortable with a quick minor bark was greeted at other restaurants in Maine with open arms, a bowl of water and lots of petting. He was also greeted in Bar Harbor along the walkways and trails by many people wanting to pet and interact with him. The guy with the parrots had Tucker Lee interact with them. It is her loss and now Blaze's loss. I hope she enjoyed the generous tip I left to ensure the others were compensated as it will sadly be the last time we visit Blaze or recommend it. Great food and drinks is one thing but friendly and decent service is an absolute must. You cannot insult your customers especially their beloved pets. Also if you are going to be a dog friendly bar be sure your bartender greets all dogs with water, a treat maybe and an acknowledgement. Tucker Lee got none of those. Only a judgement on his size. Big dogs deserve love too!“

“Great location within the strip of shops. There is plenty of outdoor seating. We went around 3 pm, so after lunch rush. We waited for around 5 minutes (they had to clean a table). Our server was nice. He took our drink order, and it came out in just a few minutes. We ordered our food, and it came out within 10 minutes. The shrimp po'boy was good. The sauce had flavor but just a little much on the sandwich (it was hard to pick up and put down, got soggy). The chicken salad sandwich was pretty good and light. The lobster roll was a good portion size and didn't have too much mayo. The potato chips had light salt, which tasted good with the sandwiches. The lobster salad was basically a bunless lobster roll. The portion was large and came with a vinaigrette dressing. I ordered a blueberry frizz. It was very sour and didn't taste much like blueberry. Handicapped accessibility would be limited; no ramp (that I saw) to eat inside, you could eat outside 1st floor, which is under cover. The bathroom is tricky, getting in and out with 2 doors that open the same way.
Parking: Street parking that can be difficult to find a spot.
Wheelchair accessibility: Limited to outside, under cover.“
