“We had the passing of an older relative. I was desperately trying to plan an after services luncheon for a small group of about 30 people. It was nearly impossible . The owner of Cat Face Cafe was incredibly kind and understanding and accommodated us by closing a little bit early and allowing us to do a buyout. He was very fair and reasonable with the cost and so accommodating. I cannot stress what an excellent job he and his team did. The food was delicious, the place was perfect for our group and it was nice to celebrate our family member in such a cozy comfortable spot. Everyone was thrilled with ordering special coffees and having the unique sandwiches and delicious salads. I should add that this was all done with 48 hour notice. I wish we lived in town so that I could support this business. Great food, yummy drinks, kind staff and comfy environment. Support Cat Face Cafe! Thank you all again :)“

“What a true Gem. New to the area and we were very pleased with everything. The prices were amazing for what we ordered. The Ruben was Outstanding. Our server( Dawn) was very nice. We Loved the Old time Irish Pub feeling. A must stop for food,beverages and shot a game of pool. We will be back and we will refer all of our campers .“

We had the BBQ for 2 with pinto beans, cashew queso with chips and collard greens (originally to get in a green veggie but wow, delicious!) “Just wanted to share our experience with a wonderful waitress. I’ve ungraciously forgotten her name, but we came in on a very busy Saturday tonight and sat right next to the host stand. She had just finished serving a very large party, and couldn’t have been more kind and upbeat. Making jokes with us, and running around nonstop. Drink refills were instant, food was hot and delicious. It is truly people like this that keep us coming back, she deserves some recognition!“

“The Pilot House came in a very close second to Mabel’s Lobster Claw — and that says a lot! The food here is absolutely delicious. I had the lobster roll with clam chowder, and both were incredible — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. My husband ordered the baked crusted haddock and loved every bite, and my mother-in-law had the fish tacos, which were just as good.

The atmosphere has that classic small-town coastal feel — casual, welcoming, and full of local charm. What makes it even better is the history tied to this place. The building originally stood as part of Kennebunkport’s old railroad era and was later turned around on its lot in the 1970s. It sits beside the Spirit of Massachusetts, a 19th-century schooner that nods to the town’s rich maritime past. Between the amazing food, friendly service, and a little piece of local history, The Pilot House is a spot we’ll absolutely return to. Five stars all the way!“

“How could anybody complain when we’ve just been through a pandemic - We’ve been through a shutdown, many thousands of people have died, schools closed & kids had to learn from home (and then had hybrid learning), many businesses folded & people lost their jobs, the job market changed & people worked from home - Prices went up considerably which made it much harder for some people to get by & many could not make it - I feel that it is remarkable that The River Tap & Grill has done as well as any restaurant out there - Kudos to the owners, the staff & to all the others who have made this possible -“

“This little hole in the wall restaurant was a great surprise. It's a short walk from the main area of OOB and is located right on the beach. The tables are literally set in the sand. Beyond that is dune grass and the ocean. I had the best tacos in my life! They featured cole slaw, pulled chicken and sweet Thai chili sauce. Delicious!“

The pulled pork nachos are my favorite thing I've had so far!
We went in with a large group and everyone's food came out hot at the same time. The wait staff were all super helpful and patient with a large group and kept the table cleared of dishes at every chance.

“Food was mediocre. The taco chicken was a bit dry but the sweet chili sauce on the tacos gave it more flavor. Service was slow, we ended up getting our food before our drink which was odd. It was clearly a busy day though.
What I love about this place is the atmosphere. It’s a boat shaped restaurant and you can sit in the back on the sand and they had live music all day (on a Saturday) which was what made us stay there so long.“

“In OOB for a quick getaway with my two kids. Stopped here for breakfast both days. The food was on point, kids loved the French toast and chocolate chip pancakes. But the service Marley gave us is what really stood out. She made my kids and I feel right at home.“

“I loved my salad and the service was good. The place is quite large (and not very busy) but there were long periods of time without service. Not our servers fault. Our booth was very nice and roomy but not visable to the rest of the restaurant. Our server really seemed to care. I was a little annoyed that the “free refillable sodas” that came with the kids’ meals was only for certain sodas. Not clear on the menu and not explained when we ordered. The kids would have been happy with cokes or sprites. $22 later on soda, when the bill came, we realized sofas weren’t so free. I don’t mind spending money but hate wasting it.“

“We stopped here after my husband a job in Scarborough, and wow… what an incredible surprise. The whole place has that true Maine vibe — cozy, welcoming, and super friendly. Our server Eric was awesome from start to finish. My husband ordered the pork schnitzel and absolutely loved it. I had the butternut squash linguine with prosciutto, roasted squash, arugula, and their homemade crostini bread… incredible. I even saved half so I could enjoy it again another day. Hubby tried two of their 5oz beers (Space Ghost and Santa’s Reinbeer) and enjoyed both. But the show-stealer? The apple crisp cheesecake. 🍎 Hubby took one bite and said, “This is so good it should be outlawed.” And honestly, he wasn’t wrong. It was ridiculous in the best way. We left talking about how we’re glad we live two hours away, because we’d be here every day if we didn’t. Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area. Amazing food, great vibe, great service.“

“We were in Portland for the day, and we had agreed on Longhorns for lunch.
My brother in law had the sirloin steak, done to perfection!
I had the Baked Pork Chop not dried out, actually juicy and loaded baked potato excellent.
My sister had the chicken, again very good.
It was early for lunch, but the service was excellent, our server very attentive, but not overly so.
It was quiet, so we could carry on a conversation, without loosing the conversation.
I would recommend it during off peak hours as I was told by a regular, they can get very busy.“

“Food came out quickly. Waitress was efficient. The nachos were really good and the Key Lime Pie dessert martini was delicious. Bathrooms needed cleaning, both men and women's were kind of gross. Women's was super sticky floors and I saw a few bugs on the floor in both bathroom and main dining area.“

“I come specifically to Old Orchard Beach every year just to eat at The Bell Buoy. They serve the best seafood and are very closely located to the pier and beach. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but the lobster is a huge selling point. Friendly staff, great food, good service, and a mere walking distance from many of the other attractions. I cannot recommend this place enough, and hope it remains open forever.“

Tucked away right next to the pool, this spot was exactly what I needed—a laid-back escape from the downtown hustle and bustle of Kennebunkport. I was initially confused about how to get in (thought I was lost for a second!), but once I found it, I knew I’d discovered something special.

Plenty of shady spots to lounge, a great indoor-outdoor vibe, and seriously relaxing poolside energy. A lot of games for kids. The menu hits all the right notes—classic food and drink options that are comforting and satisfying.

The real highlight? Kayla, the bartender. She was an absolute joy! Super friendly, attentive, and full of great local recs. Her service was top-notch, and she made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. We chatted, laughed, and I left already looking forward to coming back.

“ordered the whole clam belly basket today...was no bellies. actually looked lime mixture of calamari rings and very thin strips of clams..asked waitresses if I was given clam strips buy mistake she went to ask someone became back and said the calm bellies were just small...ummm... No!! there was none! anyways .was charged for whole belly basket and that was that..will be trying other places next time .“
