“Who would’ve thought one of the best meals I’d have in Maine would come from a pizza spot in a converted work trailer? Vera Idyllic Pizza is an absolute gem on the side of the road. We stopped by twice in four days because the pizza was that good. The cheese and BBQ chicken pizzas were both amazing — fresh, flavorful, and with the best dough I’ve ever had. “This is the perfect restaurant for a romantic dinner, superb food, and excellent service. Also have enjoyed the best filet I've ever had in my life. I don't eat steak often, so when I do, it makes sense to get the best, and Paul's definitely serves it. Pair it with some great wines, and a lovely evening is enjoyed by all. “Wow this place so far exceeded expectations from minute one. We came in with my elderly aunt and everyone was so attentive and helpful. The hostess was able to get us seated in the tavern area fairly quickly in spite of them being very busy. The atmosphere was very interesting and there were intricate chalk drawings on the walls. The noise level was quieter than I would expect in a pub atmosphere so we were able to chat. The food was incredible, the oysters were super fresh and my only suggestion is to serve these with fresh lemon. For an entree I had French onion soup and a toasted mini baguette and it was delicious. My husband had the chicken which was also delicious and my aunt had the fish and chips which she seemed very pleased with.”

“Let me put the cart before the horse and tell you this was one of the best, if not the best, experiences I have had at a restaurant. Corrinna was lovely. She took time to explain to this uninitiated wine consumer the differences between wines, glasses, and tasting, as well as pairing with foods. Speaking of food, this was also splendid. We started with oysters, which was a first, calamari, pork belly, arancini, and focaccia that melted in your mouth. My main course was the Swordfish with sweet potato puree, fingerling, and swordfish "bacon" jam. This is a silent gem that I selfishly stays quiet for my purposes, but Back River Bistro needs to be visited by anyone who loves a small curated dining experience. Much success to Matt & Corrinna. It is much deserved.”

From the moment we arrived, the magnificent harbor view beckoned us to sit in a big ol’ rocking chair on the Inn’s lovely porch, cocktail in hand & relax completely into the moment. Oh & sunsets? Outstanding! Our first moments at Grey Havens were so warm & welcoming. Actually even before arriving, calls with innkeepers, Ali & Carlos, had us beyond excited for our initial stay. I say initial because of course we definitely will return & soon I hope! I could list endlessly all the delightful elements that the Grey Havens team have combined to create a place in which one can truly & gloriously unwind. From the lovely & cozy guest rooms to the gorgeous bay-windowed common room (with its stunning actual bay-view) the vibe is marvelous. Grey Havens feels quintessentially seaside Maine with just the barest but perfect touch of some lovingly placed & demure whimsy to intrigue a curious eye. Our initial stay dates did not overlap with Blue’s calendar, sadly. However the many tales we heard of Chef Esau’s creations have us drooling in anticipation. We will ensure we enjoy a dinner at Blue upon our return to Grey Havens.”

Generous portions made to order. We had breakfast and returned for dinner! My husband grabbed pastries before we left town. They were huge, fresh and the best we've ever had. Highly recommend!!!!!”

“My wife and I have been searching high and low for a top-shelf dining experience in Maine since we arrived. Today, we drove 2-1/2 hours from Bar Harbor to Wiscasset to eat at “In a Silent Way.” It exceeded all expectations. James Beard-level food and wine. From the oysters to the steak tartare and raspberry panna cotta, everything was magnificent. Well worth the drive. Confident sharing, In a Silent Way, is the most elevated food in Maine. And lovely service as well. Gushing.”

“The wait was an hour. But it was well WORTH the time. They don’t measure or weigh the lobster. They just load it up. I had leftovers. I have a healthy appetite but I couldn’t finish it all. I opted to not even eat the majority of the roll. It was tasty with the awesome warm butter that is served with it. This was my first visit but not my last. Awesome hard working folks.”
