“YUMMMMM!!! It is hard to describe how much I loved this gelato. The employees were friendly and helpful, and so nice to offer samples when I had questions on the flavors (the samples were given with metal spoons… so nice not to use single use plastic for that). I ordered the large size cup and the portion was generous for the price. I had three different flavors in my cup and all of them had a nice amount of toppings mixed in… this is a nice way to have the gelato as many gelato shops only have the toppings laying on top so you don’t end up with many in your serving. I have visited Italy and have had many gelatos over the years, but this is hands down the best I have had! My favorite flavor was ‘A Big ‘Ole Peanut Butter Pint’... a week and a half later and I am still thinking about this flavor!! Also, we were with someone with a dog and there was no outdoor seating. We asked the employees if we could grab chairs from the restaurant and bring them outside and they had no problem letting us do that (it helped that we visited at a time where they weren’t too busy).“

“Note: asking for crunchies as a topping at other places means chocolate crunchies, but here the “crunchy coat” means their special mix of peanut, sprinkles, and a few other things! I was surprised when I got my order- but it was good!

Very generous portion sizes for the price, and their soft serve is just so, so good. I tried the toffee soft serve (a flavor of the day) and it was a little too sweet for my liking, but the vanilla and chocolate are amazing. Soft serve sometimes tastes very chemical, but this tastes like the real stuff!“

“Best Gelato I’ve ever had! I’ve been to a few different places but none even compare. I had the Hazelnut and Sea Salt Caramel and they were mouth watering. My bf had Maine Wild Blueberry and Oreo and we almost went back for more that night! Eagerly waiting for Boston Creme to come back so I can try it!!“

“As an avid ice cream lover, I can confidently say Dear Dairy's ice cream is undoubtedly the absolute best I have ever had... I've never been to their storefront, but I found their ice cream at my local dairy barn in a small town in Maine. I do not foresee myself stumbling upon anything better anytime soon. The flavors are the most rich I have ever tasted. My personal favorites are Sourdough Cookie and Vanilla de Veracruz. This is the best vanilla ice cream I think I will ever have in my entire life, and that's not an exaggeration. Please do not ever retire this one; I simply don't know what I would do!“

“My son has been asking for sonic ice cream since summer began. Deering ice cream was the only person/place/truck who had sonic. (And we've been to a lot). He was helpful to keep me informed of his location, as I drove to find him.(he is a movie ice cream truck after all). I drove 30mins to another town to hunt down the ice cream man for my son and IT WAS WORTH IT. Super kind gentle man! Great variety of ice cream choices“

“Tried this place for the first time as I explored downtown Portland and wow is it yummy! I got the salted caramel and it was some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had. I know others complained about not being able to
sample but I personally like this policy. Cuts down on waste + keeps line moving quicker. Service was fast + friendly. I look forward to returning and trying other flavors.“

“pop up with Meet on the Street last night. Prix Fixe four course menu 😋. Food was outstanding, service…outstanding. Drinks?? Always outstanding! The gondola in the bar is always a fun little spot to sit. Such a great space on Wharf St, especially when the snow is falling. Food is warm and lovely, and the staff is always happy to see you. 100/10.“
