“I’ll make this short and sweet (like ice cream). Fielders choice is a must try. All the ice cream is homemade. Hard and soft serve are both amazing. They are generous with their scoops and staff are all very friendly. You can get ice cream in the drive through. Don’t let the line deter you, it goes pretty fast & it’s worth it. Listen to me when I tell you, you gotta try it!“

“I am not much of a sweets person but we enjoyed the Ice Cream here. It tasted like real ice cream and the prices were average. They also had Acai bowls which was nice. They have picnic tables and corn hole outside, and booth seating inside. We have been a few times over the years and will definitely go back when we're in the area again!“

If you have a sweet tooth, prepare your willpower. Mine disappeared almost immediately.
The candy selection is huge, with everything from nostalgic favorites to classic favorites, plus plenty of fun gifts and novelty snacks to browse while you wait.
The real star, though, was the gelato. I went with the caramel brownie and pistachio, and both were incredibly creamy, rich, and full of flavor. The caramel brownie was loaded with chocolatey goodness, while the pistachio had a smooth, authentic nutty flavor that kept me coming back for another bite. A combination worthy of a return visit, it is.
They also offer milkshakes, bubble waffles, smoothies, churros, and other desserts if you're looking for something beyond ice cream.
Trust your feelings on this one. Your sweet tooth will thank you.“

“The Gelato Fiasco in the Old Port is always a fun stop when you want something sweet. There are a ton of flavors to choose from, the gelato is rich and smooth, and the staff is usually happy to let you try a few before deciding. It can get busy, but the line moves well and it’s definitely worth stopping in while you’re walking around downtown Portland.“

Sign me up. Husband is a Cookie Monster so, after dinner somewhere else, he found this spot and drove us here to satisfy the sweet tooth.
When we saw the line of people and bustling parking lot, we knew we were onto something.
Fortunately, the menu isn't that large or complex so it moves quickly and we waited probably 10 minutes if that.
We tried an old school vanilla hot fudge sundae with nuts and whipped cream (me) and my husband got the chocolate brownie soft serve and absolutely loved it as well.“

“Best Gelato I’ve ever had! I’ve been to a few different places but none even compare. I had the Hazelnut and Sea Salt Caramel and they were mouth watering. My bf had Maine Wild Blueberry and Oreo and we almost went back for more that night! Eagerly waiting for Boston Creme to come back so I can try it!!“

“For nostalgia this place still hits home for me. I came back to try bubblegum ice cream. They haven't had that flavor in years. It's been a long time since I've been back. I did however get a strawberry ice cream cone and it was really good. The price was nice too. Plenty of places to sit outside.“

“The best blizzards in southern Maine are at the Saco DQ, love that they use whole M&M’s in their blizzards instead of being all chopped up. Also they give plenty of treats in the blizzards and aren’t skimpy like other DQ’s I have been to.“

“My son has been asking for sonic ice cream since summer began. Deering ice cream was the only person/place/truck who had sonic. (And we've been to a lot). He was helpful to keep me informed of his location, as I drove to find him.(he is a movie ice cream truck after all). I drove 30mins to another town to hunt down the ice cream man for my son and IT WAS WORTH IT. Super kind gentle man! Great variety of ice cream choices“

The gondola in the bar is always a fun little spot to sit. Such a great space on Wharf St, especially when the snow is falling. “Unique ice cream place worth visiting!! This isn’t your run of the mill “basic ice cream flavor” shop. They spend lots of time crafting unique flavors in ice cream form. That’s part of the fun! It’s like science and ice cream merged - Mt Desert was the creation! Love the cozy shop feel. Super cute. Also love that they offer a couple vegan ice cream flavors. The vegan biscoff was to DIE for. Absolute creamy goodness & biscoff explosion. Go- you won’t be disappointed & your taste buds will rejoice!“

“Loves this place! We came 2 days in a row! Food was awesome, we had the crispy chicken wrap, poutine and smash burgers. All 10/10. Rooftop view was awesome! And we had George as our server and he was great! Polite, good mood, very accommodating! Highly recommend!“
