“Last month our flight to Portland was delayed a considerable amount of time due to weather issues and it looked as though we would not be able to make our 5p.m. reservation. My daughter called from the tarmac in Boston where we were rerouted and refueled and explained the situation. The hostess, Susie, was very understanding and compassionate And said that even though our table was booked for another party a 7, we should come in and she would see what she could do. We got there late but Susie greeted us warmly and told us not to worry about being rushed that she had arranged things so no one would be inconvenienced. The atmosphere was warm and cozy; the food so very delicious and our waitperson, Anika, was the best. Atmosphere, impeccable service, food and warmth all rate 5 stars and another visit next time we are in Portland.“

“We came to Gelato Fiasco daily on our trip to Portland. They have a wide selection of flavors and the ability mix and match as many flavors into an order. Our favorite part is the number of fixings that are packed into each serving. They certainly don’t skip on that. Whether it’s the Maine Blueberry with crumble or double caramel with cookie, each flavor is unique and delicious.“

I meandered down to this company and, upon introducing myself, the owner gifted me with a bag of Margaret P. Driver, a coffee which she has created in our rum barrels! So, what happens when you take the best rum made in Maine, or the world for that matter, and infuse it into quality coffee beans?????????????? You get an explosion of taste that will literally leave you speechless!! Here I thought our rum was incredible and mind-blowing all by itself, but this lovely lady who owns this company has taken it to the next level! The coffee is smooth and boozy. I am addicted!!!!!!!! I find myself at my home coffee bar simply inhaling the aromas from the bag! There are only two of us in this big house who drink coffee. Well, when I brew Margaret P. Driver, the 12-cup pot vanishes within seconds, with my housemate and me fighting for the very last drop! If the combination of our rum and their coffee isn't deadly enough for you, then try their frosted brownies!! OMG!! I nearly passed out eating them!! They are incredible!! The brownies also pair beautifully with the coffee!! Wow, wow, and wow!! I will be stopping in for more of the coffee infused with our rum on a regular basis!! Furthermore, I recommend that tourists stay on Diamond St for an entire day, not just for a few moments!! We have our bar, Three Of Strong Spirits, then there's Bite Into Maine, and the icing on the cake, Coffee By Design! Diamond St is the happening place to be!!“

“Extremely laid-back, low-key homegrown atmosphere. You can sit in the cafe, which is a living room converted, and look out at one of the most incredible ocean views on this side of the country, while enjoying naked pine wood interior, kind workers, delicious treats and sandwiches, lemonade, coffee, and tea. I am so used to the hustle and hustle of being in a big city, that the hospitality and intimacy of this place overwhelmed me.“

It was far from my typical, and I can appreciate that the coffee was of a good quality, but my experience would've been much more enjoyable if I could've been directed to flavors more suited to my palate. “Stopped in during a recent trip down to Portland and was blown away. When I walked in I was told about all of their goodies, allergen info, and extensive options by a woman who completely matched my energy and excitement :)
I left with way more goodies than I could eat in a week so I froze some. The bagels were out of this world!! As a former New Yorker, finding a gf bagel has been HARD until now. They froze really well and taste delicious. I got a variety of sweet treats and was not disappointed by any of them. We will be sure to stop in any time we're nearby or passing through.“

“I love Dunkin Donuts. They have the best Ice Coffees, Coolattas, smoothies bagels and more. I still consider Starbucks the best but Dunkin Donuts is the first best and favorites. Why? Cause they make they stuff that I like and love just right the way I like it.“

It is large, well-stocked, and most of all, the different food stations are amazing. Made to order items at the food stations are terrific and make for a nice meal. The hot bar is also excellent. “Located on the ground floor of the Westin Harborview hotel, in Portland, this is the only alternative to the restaurant for a cup of coffee and a quick bit. Unfortunately, we found the hours were short, and it is not open every day. It is a small cafe, with no tables or chairs. You place your order, pay and get your coffee to go, The barista was very nice and did a good job preparing our coffees with care. There were two types of muffins and packaged coffee for sale, but that was it. No other choices for a quick bite, no sandwiches or other bakery goods.“
