“I highly recommend Rise Pizza and Pub! Every time I have been here since they opened the food has been absolutely amazing. I crave their pizza and wings. My favorites are the house-brined chicken wings, the grilled Caesar, and the pepperoni melanzana pizza. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.“

Jeff let my friend play drums and music there, of the breweries we went to in Portland this was our best experience in the entire city. “We ate at Solo Italiano recently and had a nice dining experience. Overall, our food was outstanding, though our coffees and desserts were not up to the same standard as our other courses. The ambiance was very nice. In particular, the restaurant was very quiet, though we were there on the early side. The biggest negative was our waitperson who I felt could have been much more welcoming. Also, he/she forgot one of the courses that we had ordered. Nevertheless, we will return to Solo Italiano for the food which was really excellent.“

“I just want to go here everyday until I’ve tried every pastry. This spot is super cute, in the best neighborhood in Portland (don’t fight me). The staff were all incredibly kind and welcoming.The pastries all looked so amazing it was hard to choose! I ended up getting the pistachio croissant, was was topped with a hard shell of dark chocolate and chopped pistachios, and filled with a great pistachio paste (similar to an almond croissant). It was incredibly decedent but so delicious. I worked at a very prestigious French bakery, and I prefer Belleville’s croissant to any that I had while working there.I appreciate their traditional coffee menu, too, which works so great any of the pastries.I’ll absolutely be back!!“

“Kudos to Severino's Variety for supplying 20+ Italian sandwiches for a celebration of my friends. They were very helpful even delivering the sandwiches to the car of the person picking them up. The sandwiches were delicious and the store put the onions, oil, salt and pepper on the side. Everyone involved praised the meal! Thanks again to Severino's and their staff.“

“Excellent! We had the house salad … like no house salad I’ve ever had! Lots of goodies, super tasty and the large was plenty for two! My hubby had rigatoni carbonara. I had the crab raviolini. We also ordered bread service ($7 was a bit high).Rigatoni carbonara was very tasty but extremely rich. He wished it would have been cut with an acid for balance. My ravolini was perfect in flavor and size.We sat at the bar (not our fave but we didn’t have a reso). Stools were NOT comfortable. Bar/waitress (Lora/Lori I’m pretty sure that’s her name) was friendly and solicitous to us.It was great to be in a neighborhood (and not in the Old Port). We’ve driven by the restaurant and never been inside … glad we did this time. We’ll be back!“

“This place is a rare find. They are local folks in a sweet part of a Portland neighborhood right across from Morans market. It is very clean and the food is amazing. “First time in beautiful Portland Maine, the five of us coming from Indiana were looking for some new local eats. Blocks away from where we’re staying was Anthony’s Italian Kitchen. Walked into a warming Italian atmosphere and greeted instantly by the owners smile and welcoming ambience. He handed us menus with content and grace. I proceeded to ask what he recommended. In short words he said Spaghetti & Meatballs, Eggplant Parmesan, or the Lasagna mentioning everything was made in house/homemade, I was thrilled for authentic cuisine! I ordered the Spaghetti & Meatballs per his recommendation, as he told me multiple times how much I will LOVE it. Waiting on my food I admired the radiance of the restaurant and getting joyous for a meal that I longed for all day. The moment came and I ate. He was absolutely right! One of the best Spaghetti & Meatballs dishes I’ve ever eaten/tasted. It was so amazing, two others in my party also got Spaghetti & Meatballs that they thoroughly expressed how delicious our first meal was in Maine. “I order at least once a week...the front staff seem knowledgeable but the real magic happens in the back, right? So let's look at the pie...crispy, fresh, high quality ingredients and will accomadate changes with a smile. The cookies needs some mention also, the Lemon Ricotta, Cannoli Cookie and the small chocolate one are the best...don't get any others and ice cream seems to have been melted and re-froze almost always?! “What can I say?....This place is awesome. The pizza is perfect. Soft, chewy crust with little charred bubbles. The toppings are not your run of the mill Pepperoni and sausage etc. They have some interesting combinations that are very interesting and delicious. I highly recommend quanto basta.“

“Excellent fries, good burgers!We had the cheeseburger combo (2 cheeseburgers with fries) and the Hilltop burger.The fries were world class. Top fried, crunchy, super seasoned!The taste of the Hilltop reminds me a lot of a McDonalds BigMac. I think he had around 180-200g of meat. Also very good.The cheeseburgers were also good, but they lacked sauce. I would recommend pickles, mustard and ketchup.“

“My girlfriend and I made a trip to Portland this weekend for my 35th birthday. This was our first time here.Our server Shawn hopefully I spelt his name right, was amazing. He was Very attentive as well as knowledgeable on the drink and dinner menu.The focaccia bread was a great starter as I had saw other reviews said to try it out.My girlfriend got the swordfish with risotto which was cooked perfectly which is hard to do. I got the hanger steak medium rare and that was cooked perfectly as well.I don’t drink so I got an athletic brew and my girlfriend got a cosmo and she said it was delicious.We got the cannoli at the end for dessert and it was so yummy! With an added birthday candle!We would definitely come back if we come back to Portland. Thank you for a great birthday dinner!“

“Can't say enough about this place. Very good food. They have a salad bar all day and also have a hot bar all day and then they have pizza slices ready to go along with breakfast sandwiches and soups. Their menu is very big and will say the food is excellent.“

“LOVE the island bake shop! The deck is wheelchair accessible and you can enter through that side door to avoid steps. They have such a great variety of cold sandwiches, baked goods, pizza, and appetizers. My favorite was the sausage pizza and their blush vinaigrette salads. They even serve a hot dog on a brioche bun, which was delicious. We kept coming back throughout our trip to enjoy wine(&beer) on the patio to watch the boats and say hi to the locals walking past. “I'm updating this as I've been to Amatos manyl times since I posted the first review. I've upped the stars to 3 from 4 because I've had several things that I hadn't had there before and they were all very enjoyable. One thing I definitely appreciate is that with very little exception, the food is consistant from one Amatos to the next. It's nice to know that when I'm on the road and it's too late to make something for supper, I can find an Amatos and get something and know that, if it's not where I usually get it, it will be just as good as where I bought it the first time. Thank you, Amatos.It's fast Italian food on the fly. It's definitely a step (or even two) over McD's, BK's, Wendys, etc. Italians plus other hot & cold sandwhiches, salads plus a nice selection of Italian dinners makes it a good choice for singles or familes or any group in-between.“

“Oh my God is this place delicious. Best Sicilian slice I ever had. The dough is totally unique and amazing. And the sauce on the cheese and pepperoni is sweet and tangy. Portland is lucky to have this place. Heard it was great but really surpassed my expectations. And I'll always remember going because it was my son's 1st birthday that day and this was a late lunch after celebrating for a day already.Parking: Look it's downtown Portland. The more familiar you are with it the easier. You can park in a lot a few blocks away or if you get lucky you can grab a spot on paid parking in front. Be careful though they ticket often, so pay.Kid-friendliness: We had our one-year old who was getting a little tired and we didn't get any dirty looks and they provided a high-chair. We went early with only two other couples there.“

“Authentic environment with reasonably priced food and general items. Also the best sub sandwich I’ve ever had. Recommend the loaded steak sub. Breakfast was also wonderful - got the breakfast wrap. Staff goes above and beyond in service. I forgot a small bag with souvenirs at the table and they held it for me until the next day, not even knowing if I’d be back. Great place! Glad I found it.“

“Your people are genius! Not only did they blow my mind with the unbelievable combination of carmelized pears, chicken and fontina but the best tiramisu that I’ve had outside Boston’s north end. The staff was friendly, hospitable and efficient. I would highly recommend!“
