Charming and very competent. The food was great, too. We've never eaten there before, but have visited the Freeport restaurant many times. Never ever disappointed.“

“Stopped in during a recent trip down to Portland and was blown away. When I walked in I was told about all of their goodies, allergen info, and extensive options by a woman who completely matched my energy and excitement :)
I left with way more goodies than I could eat in a week so I froze some. The bagels were out of this world!! As a former New Yorker, finding a gf bagel has been HARD until now. They froze really well and taste delicious. I got a variety of sweet treats and was not disappointed by any of them. We will be sure to stop in any time we're nearby or passing through.“

“Our first time family dining experience since this restaurant has changed ownership to Foreside Tavern. A wonderful experience, expert service, a terrific menu and delicious food. I was especially impressed with my Thai Salmon sandwich! The salmon was definitely fresh.! Protions were over the top family sized so we had plenty of wonderful take home to enjoy again. We will return. Also, other families were being seated while we were there. Thanks to all the wonderful Foreside Tavern staff for making our visit memorably delicious.“

“We came to Gelato Fiasco daily on our trip to Portland. They have a wide selection of flavors and the ability mix and match as many flavors into an order. Our favorite part is the number of fixings that are packed into each serving. They certainly don’t skip on that. Whether it’s the Maine Blueberry with crumble or double caramel with cookie, each flavor is unique and delicious.“

“My husband and I had lunch here before an appointment nearby. This restaurant had delicious food. My husband ordered the Down east Ruben, which was made with deep fried haddock with Cole slaw piled high on the bun with melted cheese. He said it was delicious! I opted for the classic BLT. Again, the sandwich was delicious. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and ample bacon was piled on top. I watched a young man bus the tables. He was extremely thorough cleaning the tables and seating. He even washed the items on the table (salt & pepper shakers, ketchup and hot sauce bottles). This young man then set the tables for new customers. Being a bit of a clean freak, I appreciated this young man's work. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.“

“I stopped in Blazes today, had been craving a burger, and they didn’t disappoint! The cowboy burger was delicious, burger cooked just right, the onions and peppers perfectly caramelized, the sauce, bacon, and cheese, exactly the fat you want in a good burger. The bun was perfect and gave the perfect bread to burger/toppings ratio. And the side of onion rings was great, good portion, nice and crispy, not burnt and not soggy. Highly recommend!“

“My wife and I started our week's visit to Portland with dinner at the Union restaurant in The Press Hotel. We were so lucky that coincided with a special 3-course lobster meal which we both ordered and loved from start with lobster croquettes to lobster pasta to the desserts. We added the tempura green beans to the appetizers which were so specially delicious. A cold bottle of their spanish cava complimented the food. Our waiter Yajia was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is a delight to sit in and look at. All in all a wonderful, memorable start to our trip.“

“We wandered in today and sat at the bar. We were so impressed with both the service and the food. The bartender was cordial, friendly, and extremely attentive. We had a flatbread that was absolutely delicious and chicken, bacon ranch salad with house made ranch that was exceptional. Closer than any.
