“I don’t normally do reviews but had to share my experience. Obviously reviews are subjective so I must say, I almost skipped out on this restaurant because of the reviews. I am really happy I didn’t because me and my husband had the most enjoyable experience on Valentine’s Day. The food & drinks were delicious! We had the blue martini, beet salad with salmon, pan fried haddock and shrimp linguine. So 2 cocktails, a pricey appetizer and 2 main courses and the check came up to $100.00 for 2 persons, which is affordable compared to other restaurants. The service was great, server was very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was comfortable. I mean it wasn’t the best decorated restaurant you will find, but that’s why it’s a “tavern”.The ambiance is certainly like a tavern. There is bar on the side of the restaurant if you want pub style or you can opt for sit down dining. I really enjoyed my experience and will definitely be back. By the way the restaurant was quite full, so the negative reviews don’t seem to be sticking.“

“This was my first visit to Orchid Thai, and the team here truly impressed me with the kind and speedy service and amazing food. The kitchen and Chef Sandy were pumping out delicious food at an incredible pace. Everything was perfect. We had chicken satay, crab rangoons, and chicken red curry. We will be back for many more meals. “Amazing farm to table food and drinks. We stopped by downtown Portland on our way out of town from a corporate retreat. Came in and sat at the bar, Cameron provided first class service, was incredible knowledgeable and attentive. Guided us through the menu and ensured we had a 5 star experience.“

There are bento box lunch specials and chef's choice sushi and sashimi, or you can order rolls from the lunch menu; I had a wonderful red snapper ceviche roll and of course, their wonderful miso soup!“

“We had such a delicious breakfast at Marcy’s The people working there are so friendly and very attentive. Everyone worked together and our coffee cups and water glasses never were empty we even were offered the remainder of the delicious milkshake that didn’t fit in the glass. Milkshakes for breakfast-perfect! The food was tasty and cooked perfectly and the portions were hearty. Loved the decor and the whole vibe of the place. “The wife and I went to the “Green Elephant” in Portland, it was amazing, yeah actually we don’t think there’s words to explain amazing good the food was, we definitely want to come back! The host and server Lisa was absolutely amazing!“

“I think if I won the lottery, the first thing I would do would be clone Crunchy Poke, implant it in my living room, and eat poke bowls for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I can't speak enough to the high quality, delicious, and fresh ingredients. This is key when eating poke (for obvious reasons), and has never been a concern of mine when I eat here (which is embarrassingly often). Their portions are extremely generous, especially given their SUPER fair prices, and the ability to (seemingly) include endless add-ons for no additional cost. My go to order? A build your own bowl with either salmon (for hot days) or unagi/eel (for colder days, as this fish is warmed up), with a base of white rice, avocado, green onion, red cabbage, red ginger, and any combo of their sauces (the House Poke Sauce, Japanese Mayo, or Unagi Sauce are personal faves). Try the Fried Garlic, Fried Onion, Furikake, Masago, and Tempura Crunch as yummy toppings. Crunchy Poke is family-owned and has super friendly staff, which is always a plus. Good for dine-in (an amazing option for a quick, hearty, healthy lunch!) or takeaway, Crunchy Poke is a MUST TRY for anyone craving poke. LOVE!“

“It’s almost an unwritten rule: never dine at the same restaurant while you’re on vacation.I broke that rule for Bayside. My first visit - I was seated quickly (easy for a table for 1) and enjoyed a classic French toast (yes to the local maple syrup, and add a side of fresh strawberries, please) and a cup of black tea. The next day I knew I had to come back to try the lemon curd French toast, and I’m glad I did. I mixed my seasons, sipping on an apple cider mimosa with cinnamon sugar rim, and I have no regrets.Aside from the incredible meals, the staff are welcoming, friendly, and eager to please. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy, even when seated at the corner of the bar (talk up the bartenders, they’re all fantastic).Any other restaurant in Portland would have a hard time convincing me to dine there on my next trip.“

“This is a fun little bakery! Despite being small they had so many options of pastries. I got a blueberry danish, pulled pork pop tart, key lime pie and a jalapeño sausage roll. We also got a vegetable rice ball, which was really fun. The danish was my favorite item! It was super good. My boyfriend thought the sausage roll could have had more sausage (was just a sausage wrapped in pastry). The pulled pork pop tart was pretty good and similar with the key lime pie. The staff were beyond friendly and nice. I will definitely be stopping by this bakery every time I am in Portland!“

“We were up Maine for a basketball tournament and chose this diner to eat at. We had a little wait for 5 of us but it was worth the wait! I had the steak n eggs breakfast. The steak was lightly seasoned, soft and very tasty. The home fries had a light seasoning as well and after we ate I felt like something sweet, I had their carrot cake, very pleased. The waitress was great, made sure we had our refills and anything else we needed and came back after a few minutes from bringing our plates over asking how everything was. I had an amazing experience here and I would travel 90 minutes just to have their breakfast again, great job to all the staff. Kudos to the cooks! The food was amazing!“

“We were all pleasantly surprised by the quality and delightful flavors of the food at Pai Men Miyake. The pork steamed buns were an absolute treat and they make me want to try the other options. The beef short rib, tantanmen, and chicken and pork ramens were all fantastic with tender meat that fell apart. The spice levels of all bowls were delicious. If you are craving fantastic ramen, this is the place for you!“

“Today, Mother’s Day 2024. We came with a party of 13 including 2 toddlers and everything was great! I was nervous because we are a rather loud family and didn’t want to disturb their other guests, but most were very accepting of our loud loving family. Our servers name was Adam and we can’t say enough good things about him! He accommodated all our needs and was so kind and respectful. We have been to RRG somany times, but this server was the absolute best to deal with our family! If you go there, ask for Adam…he won’t disappoint. She and her staff exceeded my expectations both times and were delightful to deal with at every phase. The dining room is private with spectacular views through the glass doors. The deck is perfect for pre-dinner cocktails and the entire experience is high-end. If you need to dazzle a group, Stephanie will make you look good.“

“Wow, what an amazing little place in Portland. Service is awesome and extremely nice. The interior decor also makes the place very intimate and a vibe. It's a little small and gets pretty packed at night but it's well worth the wait. The food is immaculate. Delicious, flavorful, and so authentic. Prices were hit or miss but overall, it's very well worth your money. I highly recommend the Gong Bao Chicken ($20) as well as the Double-Cooked Pork ($19). A wonderful experience all around. “Hands down the best Indian restaurant in Portland. Came here based on friend’s recommendation and My family and I loved it!! The food was really good and probably the most authentic in Portland. Our favorites were the Tandoori chicken and Chicken Karahi. Great Ambience and outstanding service! If you can’t find street parking, there is a parking deck right next to the restaurant which made it super convenient. Would definitely come back again!!“

The entrees came out very fast and were tasty. I had carne asas burrito. Coworker had sizzling hot chicken fajitas. At the end, they brought out what seemed like two corn chips with whip cream and strawberry drizzle. This was a very pleasant surprise because it tasted like a graham cracker after a few seconds. Everyone bent over backwards to ensure we had great experience. Tables were super clean. Menus were clean as well but they offered QR alternative. I wish I wasn’t visiting and lived here because this would be my go-to place. Menu had many options and I would come here for regular dinners but also for celebrations.“

We also ordered bread service ($7 was a bit high).Rigatoni carbonara was very tasty but extremely rich. He wished it would have been cut with an acid for balance. My ravolini was perfect in flavor and size.We sat at the bar (not our fave but we didn’t have a reso). Stools were NOT comfortable. Bar/waitress (Lora/Lori I’m pretty sure that’s her name) was friendly and solicitous to us.It was great to be in a neighborhood (and not in the Old Port). We’ve driven by the restaurant and never been inside … glad we did this time. We’ll be back!“

My wife has a food allergy that she can not eat mammals and they were very accommodating and made it a wonderful experience for us. The wait staff and bartender were both friendly and informative.
