“🌸 A Toast to Life, Love, and Literature—at Stella’s on the Square! 🌸 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Today, Stella’s on the Square wasn’t just a venue—it became a living, breathing storybook filled with laughter, tears, and love as we celebrated the extraordinary life of Cathy Cote (1967–2025). An aspiring author, a quiet storm of strength, and the kind of woman whose presence lingered long after she left the room. Her family turned the space into something magical. 💌 Pam read beautiful excerpts from Cathy’s unfinished book—words so heartfelt you could almost hear the pen still scribbling. 🛠️ Paul, her husband and emotional rock, was the embodiment of steady, supportive grace. 🎬 Crickett Cote, author and screenwriter, and chef extraordinare delivered moments of wit and warmth like a poetic stand-up act—honest, raw, and hilarious. 👧 And Darcy, Cathy’s youngest daughter, carried herself with quiet strength and glowing love, a reflection of her mother’s legacy wrapped in grace and soul. Cathy’s spirit filled every corner, whispering, “A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.” And wow—was it ever. 🎶 Live music swayed with the floral decor. 🍴 The food was “hug-your-chef” good. 🍸 The cash bar? Let’s just say it kindly turned tears into toasts. But Stella’s—oh, Stella’s! The staff weren’t just servers, they were part of the experience. They moved through the room with compassion and charm, making it feel like your favorite aunt’s living room (if your aunt happened to have impeccable taste and event-hosting superpowers). Every detail—every flower, every flicker of candlelight, every note of the music—was a love letter to Cathy. She may not have finished her book, but today, we all lived in the final chapter together. A chapter written in hugs, memories, and a little Chardonnay. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate something—or someone—truly special, let Stella’s on the Square be the backdrop to your next unforgettable moment. ✨ Cathy would’ve adored this review. But more than that, she would’ve adored that so many showed up, laughed, remembered, and stayed a little longer than planned—just like she always did. #CelebrationOfLife #CathyCote #StoriesLiveOn #DarcyStrong #StellasOnTheSquareMagic #LiveLaughRemember“

“In my years growing up in Portland and then moving to the outskirts of the city, I’ve finally found a Restaurant /Tavern with my first choice Owner’s special I give four stars, atmosphere friendly service excellent. The experience with my lady and one of our sons and I had the best experience, and the price just right they have found a new customer. I couldn’t have found a great place that we have enjoyed. “cost $30 for fish n chips. they serve the smallest portion of fish ive ever seen. each fish filet was maybe 3 bites. they burned the batter it was in so it was extremely crunchy and burnt tasting. I got the fish tacos, and the tortillas were so stale I had squeezed all the ingredients out of my taco when I tried to take a bite and tear a piece off. whoever is running that kitchen needs a different job... like maybe janitor.“

“This is nothing against our server because she was great and very sweet and accomodating... management on the other hand... my husband and I went here to celebrate my 30th birthday... He heard really great things about this place from a number of his coworkers and people that live locally and let me tell you... we were both were very disappointed. The food was alright, nothing I'd really rave about... but the cocktail menu... VODKA, VODKA, AND MORE VODKA. Not much variety at all... which coming from a bartender/server of 10+ years, if you knew what you were doing then you would know that not everyone loves vodka. I ordered the cucumber cooler, which is typically made with gin... just because you use Effen Cucumber Vodka, does not make it a cucumber cooler... that was the most horrible tasting drink I ever had to force down. Clearly the "customer is always right," does not apply to this establishment. Any good manager would take it off the bill and accomodate the guest and offer something else. NOPE NOT THIS PLACE!!! I ended up forcing myself to drink it because I was not letting my husband pay for a nasty drink to be dumped down the sink anyway. So I order the Aperol Spritz and it was alright. I will say they need more variety on the cocktail list, and I will give you a new recipe for your Cucumber Cooler FREE of charge... GIN (anything but well).. muddled cucumber & mint, touch of simple syrup, splash of lime juice, give it a hell of a good shake, & top it off with soda water... I'm sure you will get way better reviews off that one menu change. Good luck this summer cause y'all are gonna need it!“
“The Magic Lantern Theater holds a special place in my family’s heart. We’ve been coming here since the 1980s, and it’s become a beloved tradition to visit at least once every summer.
There’s just something magical about the atmosphere. The historic charm of the theater transports you back to a simpler time—a feeling that’s increasingly rare these days. Whether it's catching a movie or just soaking in the nostalgic surroundings, every visit feels like stepping into a piece of our own family history.
The pub inside is also a great bonus, offering a solid selection of food and drinks for all ages. It’s the perfect place to relax before or after a movie, and it adds to the welcoming, small-town feel that makes the Magic Lantern so special.
If you ever find yourself near Bridgton, visiting The Magic Lantern Theater isn’t just recommended—it’s a must.“

“I like this place. Very old school place where you can grab a beer amongst lots of locals enjoying themselves. Best pizza in the area as far as I am concerned and reasonably priced. You go into the small bar area or dining room, and make your way to the large deck overlooking the lake. This place reminds me of a time when I would go to the local bar with my parents. Everyone is always laughing and having a fantastic time.“
