“This place was jumping!! Line wrapped fully around the counter and out the door! And their food explains why! From their pastries to their pizza everything was so tasty! We also got this sausage with jalapeño and cheddar cheese wrapped in a melt in your mouth croissant! It was so delicious! I ate all my food before thinking of taking a picture because it was that tasty! oh ya, and don’t forget to try one of their house made crullers!“

“This cute little place is located just off the highway in Kittery, but beware of the very small and busy parking lot. Delicious bagels and delicious coffee! Comes in handy if you're hungry and need a pick-me-up. There's also a Dairy Queen, and festival toilets around back.“

“I cannot say enough about how happy I was that Popovers was closed on Tuesday. My wife and I were originally intending on going there, and needed to find an alternative. We stumbled upon Elephantine. Wow! We walked into this charming little cafe and were transported to Paris. The products looked delicious, and we soon found out that they didn’t only look delicious. The young lady, who was serving us, was exceptionally friendly and added to our pleasure. We ordered a yogurt, with, as I can recall, a pistachio, brittle granola, sliced fruit, honey and so on. We also wanted to just try some of their bread in toast form so I asked if we could order something that wasn’t on the menu. We just ordered some sourdough bread and wanted to have it with butter and jelly. The server promptly made it happen. The food was delivered and all of it was prepared at a very high level. Everything was not only prepared well in terms of ingredients and quality of the food, but it was also cooked/displayed nicely. The medley of food, atmosphere, and music made for the nicest breakfast I have had in a long time. We would recommend this shining star to anyone! The Elephantine is top notch!“

“Breakfast sandwiches are excellent and the woman working there was so nice! My husband really enjoyed his latte. Bonus you could order online and everything was waiting for us. We then went next door to the Belle Farm gift shop and that was very impressive. It had a lot of unique items. The woman working there was also incredibly nice! Looking forward to returning to both places!“

“Best vegan breakfast sandwich on the Seacoast. I always get the build your own breakfast sandwich with tofu, vegan sausage and cheese with pickled onions and spinach on a bulkie. Delicious!!Everyone here is super kind and I look forward to going as often as I can.Vegetarian options: They always have a really good selection of vegan options.“

“Coffee was pretty good, but it wasn't really "traditional" Turkish coffee. They just poured boiling water over finely ground coffee in the cup they served it in. To charge $3.5 (plus tax + tip) for that is silly. Those who know how to really make a Turkish coffee where cold water and grounds are brought to a boil on a hot surface, know that it takes time and careful attention to make sure it doesn't bubble over, it's not over-extracted, etc. I wouldn't care so much if they didn't have a sign that literally says they make it the traditional way (should have taken a photo to post here). It comes in a nice cup and with a sweet marshmallow-like treat, which is a nice touch. The interior is cool and they have some traditional snacks that are really good. I'd maybe try a drip coffee or something else if I go here again, but I'd skip the "traditional Turkish coffee" unless they start making it properly.“

“I adore this place in so many ways! The food is so delicious whether you get one of their salads, a sandwich or one of their pastries/treats. The decor is inviting and bright and when the weather is ideal they have a cute little patio to sit on overlooking the river. Service is wonderful too! I can't rave about this place enough.“

This may have something to do with the fact that they were roasting cardamom when I was in there, so the smell was AMAZING, but even after that faded away, I enjoyed being in a warm, friendly place and sipping on my delicious pourover coffee. Common Roots has a surplus, boasting an inviting atmosphere which has helped to make it a local watering hole for the townsfolk of North Hampton and Rye. The owner is warm and focused on bringing the best experience possible to customers. His leadership cascades to other employees, so you feel the TLC with every interaction. “This is hands down my favorite cafe in Portsmouth! Very vegan friendly. Such a bright, cozy and eclectic vibe inside with kind and helpful staff. This place has phenomenal coffee and tea drinks with multiple plant based milks. They typically have a few vegan pastries/ treats on display near the cashier and they have three clearly labeled vegan wraps on their food menu. Grateful for a space that caters to everyone’s dietary needs/ preferences!“

“Update 2 years later: I can't boast enough about Ginger and Clove. We have returned many times since my original review. We love this place, it has housed many sweet breakfast, brunch and lunch moments for my family and we will continue to frequent. If you haven't been here you are missing out, you NEED to experience the food and atmosphere at least once in your life.This restaurant is an amazing addition to our community! I brought my son for his kindergarten graduation. My waitress noticed his excitement and made sure to match that while interacting with him. “This was the only local coffee option for miles and it had everything you could want for a nice breakfast snack or meal. Fresh made egg sandwiches and baked goods like donuts scones and fritters and coffee and various espresso drinks too. Give this place a try the service was very friendly and fast and there was plenty of seating. Nice and clean too!“
