“Impossibly wonderful food and vibe! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“Before attending an evening with Phil Rosenthal, I decided to grab a quick bite to eat at Central Provisions. I walked over from my hotel and not having a reservation, I managed to snag a solo spot at the bar downstairs. By the time I left, there was not a seat to be had so I was very appreciative that I had the opportunity to dine here.

The service was impeccable-friendly and engaging without being overbearing, and the food came out quickly.

Despite wanting to try every single item on the menu, it was just me so I had to limit my options. I finally settled on the beet salad and the bone marrow toast. Both were absolutely phenomenal and well balanced.

For dessert, I could not resist trying the caramelized zucchini cake, and I did not regret it. It was a unique dessert that was not overly sweet and presented the flavors as well.

All in all a fantastic meal and a restaurant that I would absolutely frequent if I lived in the area or the next time I visit.“

“This place absolutely blew me away. For starters we tried the mussels with french fries and aioli dip, pumpkin bisque, and the maple oatmeal bread with maple brown butter. Every single bite was perfection. For our entrees, the mushroom tagliatelle, and veal ragù were rich, flavorful, and beautifully plated. We topped it all off with some Walnut Block wine, pure heaven!

It was my first time in Maine, and fell in love. The food, the flavors, the ambience, everything was incredible. Watching the chefs work in the open kitchen felt like being part of a live Netflix cooking show. I’m officially obsessed.“

“A lovely side of vegie fried rice with delicata squash, radicchio, scrambled egg, mushrooms, and scallions. A delicious light, healthy meal after some Portland errands. The hot jasmine green tea is so soothing and uplifting. This places always a great choice for a quick, fresh, solid meal.“

Everything was delicious. The only areas where we were a little disappointed were 1) timing - our entrees arrived moments after we got our appetizer; 2) willingness to make a simple substitution - we asked if an ice cream could be substituted with sorbet in a dessert due to a lactose issue. The wait staff said the head chef doesn't like to make substitutions. While we understand that approach in general, this was a simple change. However, this didn't dampen our resolve to return again.“

However, our (and our neighboring table) were disturbed by a very loud party of 5 '(birthday group) with no consideration of fellow diners. I understand that Wayside has no control over the behavior of the rude, but it's disappointing to have an enjoyable evening spoiled by the behavior of fellow diners.“

“My husband and I had lunch here before an appointment nearby. This restaurant had delicious food. My husband ordered the Down east Ruben, which was made with deep fried haddock with Cole slaw piled high on the bun with melted cheese. He said it was delicious! I opted for the classic BLT. Again, the sandwich was delicious. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and ample bacon was piled on top. I watched a young man bus the tables. He was extremely thorough cleaning the tables and seating. He even washed the items on the table (salt & pepper shakers, ketchup and hot sauce bottles). This young man then set the tables for new customers. Being a bit of a clean freak, I appreciated this young man's work. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.“
