“How have I driven by this place without stopping for YEARS? Today my wife and I stopped in for a couple of tofu bahn mis and they were fantastic. Fresh vegetables on lovely, crispy bread with an outstanding, flavorful sauce. The thai tea was superb as well, and super friendly service. We will be regulars from now on; great prices too.Vegetarian options: They seem to have a tofu version of every dish. Only tried the bahn mi and it was fire.Parking: Lot can be a bit tight, but we found a spot quickly.“
“Thank goodness--we finally found a great place for pho! We ordered the spring rolls and pho tai (rare beef, on the side). After having a sauce for the rolls that was straight out of a bottle at another place, we were pleased that this one was more authentic. The rolls were tasty--incorporating mostly lettuce and a small amount of pork and shrimp--but not the best we've ever had. I prefer to see whole shrimp and more meat in a greater ratio to the filler. The pho was definitely the star. Delicious, sweet and herbaceous broth served with rare beef, and a nice balance of basil, cilantro, sprouts and noodles. The interior is cozy and welcoming--as was the woman whom we assumed is an (the?) owner. Next time we're craving pho, we know where to go!“
“We are visiting from the Boston area. I was nervous trying a new pho place but I will say this place was delicious! The broth is rich, sweet, and full of flavor. My kids ate all their food. My wife and I got the spicy beef and chicken pho and the flavor of the broth was on another level. Please try it out! The waiter came by and asked us how we are enjoying it and also wanted to meet our kids. The service was personal and sincere! Thank you guys for the meal!“
“Was surprised to see this location under new ownership and new direction. We tried it and it was very good!I had the Chicken Pho and she had the Vermicelli Bowl with egg roll. Both meals were excellent! The drinks were cold and service was top notch!Highly recommend trying this restaurant!“
“We had lunch here. Food was great! The scallop small plate was well seasoned and delicious! Sushi was also good. The miso soup tasted a little interesting but good. They are open for dine-in but stated we had to order at the counter than eat at the table without waiter. I saw only one person working and we were only ones there. She was kind enough to come by and take our orders at the table.“
“I have been to Veranda's noodle bar multiple times and I had to leave a review of this place. I've been to other spots that have Pho in Portland, but Veranda's by far has the best Pho in Portland that I've had! The environment is also very quaint and almost has a homey feel to it. It's a small restaurant inside but personally I like it this way! Service is always amazing and they can help you with packing up the Pho to take home if you'd like. Steak & Flank Pho (4 out of 5) - the broth is flavorful and perfect! They also provide plenty of sides for the Pho (mint, bean sprouts, lime, and jalapeños) if you choose to add them or not. The Pho has a good portion with plenty of meat. Overall, it's a great spot that I will come to again in the foreseeable future!“
“Walked in about a minute after they opened. Very friendly. Ordered two bahn mi: one lemongrass beef and one lemongrass chicken. Both were delicious. Bread was perfect. Meat was very flavorful. Condiments were excellent. Need to try more when we're in Portland again.“
