“The fried clams were a bit overcooked and had a taste of older oil in the breading. On the other hand there was so many extra clams that they over spilled the excellent roll that was perfectly cooked. The french fries were excellent along with the coleslaw. Service was very good and the order didn't take too long to come to the pickup window. I'll try back in the near future.Parking: Plenty of spots overlooking the salt marsh and tidal creeks. Best to come at high tide.“
“Where do I start?? I completely enjoyed my experience at Scales from start to finish. They came recommended by two completely different people (a resident and someone who frequents the area) so after the second time hearing the name, it was settled. I had to try it. We had a short wait in the lounge area for the dining room to open and had a drink. The Lavender Haze with the pea flower infused gin was fantastic; Woke my taste buds right up! Our waitress was incredibly helpful and graciously answered all of my 784 questions to help us settle on what to order (everything sounded so amazing, I couldn’t decide). We settled on the grilled octopus for the appetizer and while in Maine, I HAD to get lobster. I have no regrets!! Everything we tried was phenomenal. After seeing other tables order the scallops, I would’ve loved to try them too but had absolutely no room left. I can say this was the best meal I’ve had in a very long time. When in Portland, Maine EAT AT SCALES!!“
“I was in the area on other business and this old warehouse building looking like it’s built with parts of wrecked ships that washed on at waterfront. I’m like what kind of cool building is this?? “Exceptional lunch! Had the beautifully flavorful brown butter lobster roll, the special smoked smelt smørrebrød, and a whoopie pie. Everything was delicious and well-made. The smørrebrød tasted spot on to versions I’ve had in Copenhagen, it was a serious treat.“

“We got the lobster stew, clam chowder and the crab sandwich.Everything was good, lobster stew has a very buttery and creamy taste. Crab sandwich was delicious and would recommend it over lobster roll.They have half sandwich options with sides of chowder so it’s great if you want to try out several items.“

The staff was slow on a Friday night because they got randomly busy and the server said “it never is” which shouldn’t be the case. This place deserves to be busy! “We visited Maine Oyster Co. while staying in the area for a short visit in Portland. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy with many different seating options available. Sean & John were very warm, and personable. We were more than happy to hear about their experience as oyster farmers, and the oysters they produced, which were incredibly delicious. Maine Oyster Co. was not only a great spot for oysters, but a good way to get a taste of what Maine is all about- friendly people, and great seafood.“
“OMG dog friendly;!!!!!!!! I had the pulled pork and it was very. Tasty but needed a little more sauce and more of the onions. Don't forget the delicious Cole slaw. Don't get me wrong we will be back for more food and DARK BEER!!!!!“
“Awesome experience at the Freeport Oyster Bar tonight! The bar tender, Sarah, was great at making sure we had everything we needed. We tried a bunch of the “Share” items. The menu was well curated from local vendors and we had a ton of fun with this menu. Get a bunch of oysters, drink some local beer, and eat local food! We will be back!“
“This was my first visit . It's a nice clean restaurant and seafood market that doesn't smell like one. The employees are friendly and helpful . Before visiting I did call because I was unsure if they had a place to eat in . My guest had coffee and they said it was great ! We both ordered combination plates of haddock and scallops with onion rings . We were served ice water when we were sat. That was nice . They had premium quality napkins and plastic cutlery . The haddock was amazing ! Along with the onion rings ! Perfect ! The scallops were huge ! But very wet so they were not crispy . I asked . So I was hoping to get bacon wrapped scallops or a lobster dinner which was not on the menu . They do sell live lobsters in tanks . Although the breading didn't have much flavor the oil they used tasted very clean . No after taste . We ordered a cup of seafood chowder to try but we're too full. Would liked to have seen more onion rings for the up charge as they were delish ! I will be back for sure ! Next time I'll try the steamed lobster dinner or the Maine man lobster roll ! Blueberry habanero sauce ! Yum ! Ps I'd prefer tartar sauce in individual cups instead of large squeeze bottles used over and over. On table room temp then in fridge then out and in . Mayo spoils . That would probably be the biggest complaint and other places do it as well. My guest said the pickles were good !“

“Wow. This place is absolutely wonderful. Went here for the first time ever on a date with my boyfriend. The food was so delicious and seasoned to perfection. The dessert we got was divine and the service was excellent. This is a great place to go on a little fancy dinner with your partner or to have a celebratory dinner. And the drinks are made so delicious.We got lucky and actually had a table available Saturday night, but it was packed for the most part. 11/10 will go here again.“
“Came here with a big group (7) for dinner on a Friday night during the off season in early March. We were seated right away upstairs which was extremely convenient. We ordered a few of the mojito pitchers for all of us which were really good. Each of us ordered appetizers for ourselves. I got the sunchoke dip and the rock potatoes. The sunchoke dip was interesting and thick in texture. The flavor was okay but maybe missing a little spice. The rock potatoes were AWESOME, really well seasoned and the dipping sauce complemented it really well. Super cute vibe and watching the karaoke at night was a fun way to end the night!!“
“Jillian was attentive and friendly. The service was great. The drink menu seemed limited. There's a huge wine list, not much for craft beer drinkers while being located in a craft beer city and there was a "shmedium" cocktail list. Come here for the raw bar. Legit one of the best oyster spots in Portland. The calamari was good, but nothing to go crazy about - it definitely scratches that itch when you're craving a light battered basket of sunshine. The lobster grilled cheese sounded glutenous but was so worth it - absolutely order this. It was LOADED with lobster. The fries that come with it are delicious and I don't go crazy over fries. My fiancee got the salmon BLT and when I asked what he thought about it... He responded, "it was good". ? There's a reason why he doesn't do the reviews LOL. Anyways, he did love it though. Would we come again? Yes. Is this a good date night spot? Yes. We'll be back.“
“Portland, Maine’s Best sandwich/wrap shop of 2023 Po' Boys & Pickles is the real deal! The authentic Creole New Orleans' flavors are on point. Counter service was fast and friendly. The Blackened fish sandwich($15) is not to be missed! The sandwich is dressed with Cajun Cole slaw, sliced tomato and red pepper mayo. This is a huge sandwich, easily shareable and absolutely delicious!! The bread is from Leidenheimer Bakery, New Orleans. Founded in 1896, Leidenheimer's is the last of the old-school Po' boy bakeries. Po' Boys & Pickles has made the commitment to using the best bread and most authentic ingredients in all of their Po' boys and sandwiches. Truly an homage to New Orleans!! You can taste the goodness in every bite. The perfect accompaniment was a basket of sweet potato fries($6).The fries were perfectly crisp, not greasy, plentiful and delicious. Great quality, inexpensive dining experience!! I love this place and you will too! Highly recommend.“

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for a special celebration.The haddock and mussels were cooked just right, and the bacon & white bean ragout added a lovely depth of flavor. The butternut squash risotto was creamy and delicious, and the spinach provided a fresh contrast to the dish.My mother's Tournedos au Poivre was also a hit. The pepper-crusted beef tenderloin medallions were cooked perfectly, and the green peppercorn and brandy cream sauce was rich and flavorful. The garlic mashed potatoes and autumn vegetable medley were the perfect accompaniments.We'll definitely be back!“

We ordered the chicken piccata (best I ever had) and chicken Constantine (really tasty dish with nice amount of vegetables). For dessert we had the bread pudding and death by chocolate. “The service was absolutely fantastic, we had the same server both days we were at the hotel. Since it was off-season the hotel was much cheaper than normal. The server recommended the pancakes and we were not disappointed, the next day I got the scrambler with a pancake on the side. All of it is delicious. The prices are a little higher but you were getting freshly cooked food including whole potatoes, eggs, pancakes etc.“

“I went recently for Sunday Brunch with a group of 6. We had reservations and they sat us immediately upon arrival. We were sat in the outside seating area which was nice and cozy. Despite it being winter, they have the outdoor area tented off with multiple outdoor heaters. It's nice because it's bright and the daylight comes through. The food didn't blow me away, it was really good, but not mind blowing. I'd definitely return if invited but wouldn't drive out of my way to get brunch. I had the French toast with blueberry compote and it was ok. We received the Sweater Weather drink (in error) and it was probably the best tasting thing on the menu! I highly recommend it. The coffee gets 10 stars. One of the most delicious cups of coffee I've had in a long time.“
