“We stopped into Six Spoke Brewing Company on a Sunday a few weeks ago, literally just before closing, while driving around Corktown looking for a new brewery to check out. It ended up being one of those unexpected finds that I'm really glad we made time for.

The brewery itself is clean, open, and has a great atmosphere. It wasn't overly crowded, which made it easy to relax and chat with the bartender.

They don't have an overwhelming number of beers on tap, but honestly, they don't need to. Every beer we tried was exceptionally well-crafted. Each one had its own distinct character, was balanced, and simply tasted great. I'd rather have a smaller lineup of excellent beers than a huge menu of average ones, and Six Spoke absolutely delivers on quality.

One thing I thought was really cool was that they pour directly from the holding tanks instead of traditional tap handles. We also grabbed some beer to go, and they canned it fresh for us right there on the spot, which was a nice touch.

The bartender was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about craft beer. We ended up talking about breweries around Detroit, and he had some great recommendations and insights into the local beer scene.

Overall, this was a fantastic first visit. Great beer, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be making the trip back again.“

“Brewery Faisan is a pretty cool place. It’s located in a renovated industrial type of building, and the space across the street is all green space now. It’s like a little island in a somewhat worn down area. The interior is very comfortable with plenty of tables and a bar, and the atmosphere is relaxed with lots of light wood tones. There is some outdoor seating too, but the inside sounded better on my visit. Their beer selection had something for all palates, and I tried a little bit of their tripel and their Italian pils. Both were good and had no off flavors, so I was happy with the beer. I bought several cans to go, and I was thrilled to find out you can buy singles, so it’s easy to sample a lot. The King Eider Belgian dubbel was my favorite so far, and it’s a very drinkable version of that style. You should definitely give this brewery a try if you’re able to.“

“Fantastic beer coming out of the east side of the state! Watch out west side breweries. Great beer selection wirh brews that a consistent and varied. The IPAs are tasty and hoppy while the porters are robust and warming in the cooler months. Big, big fan of Elephant Juice and Sweater Weather - this combination covers my whole year. The brewery is a nice space, funky and welcoming. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable, can't go wrong here.“

“In a sea of crappy cocktails, and misinformed clueless bartenders- Jennifer at the Atwater is a shining star beacon of expertise. Food was good but she makes a STELLAR Old Fashioned. Probably the best I ever had and had a ton of poorly made ones. Highly recommend.“
