“I think my parents might like Patrick, a server and bartender, more than they like me. Seriously though, a great year round restaurant for this area. Never have even had a meal there that I went, "That was just OK." I always leave thinking, "That was great."“
“The food was very good and fresh. Our granddaughter had a sandwich called a Rachel that had plenty of turkey, cheese, coleslaw on grilled rye and it was delicious. The French fries were seasoned just right. I had a wonderful salad with grilled chicken and dried cherries. My husband had the quesadillas. The main bar was extremely crowded with the local crowd, but the adjoining room had pinball machines, games and a pool table to our granddaughter occupied which was nice because the service was extremely slow.“
“This food was delicious. The service is wonderful. The waiter was so polite and welcoming. You got your food out at a very decent time. It’s just a small menu for a small corner restaurant. It was clean there. Everything felt nice no problems with the drinks or food. The price was at decencies. I definitely recommend that restaurant if you’re near the area.“
“I can honestly say A+ on all sides! My breakfast was hot, fresh, delicious. Quality ingredients. I feel good about what's coming out of that kitchen for a breakfast diner. The team was friendly, helpful, and busy serving all guests with a smile. Don't let a little line stop you from visiting the Lighthouse Cafe! It's worth the wait, and they will take care of you ASAP! You are their guest not a number! Good Job Lighthouse!“
“The culinary landscape in Northern Michigan in winter is a bit tundra-ish. Unless one wants to make the trek into Traverse City and spend a couple hundred dollars, the pickins' are a bit slim. This establishment has been on my radar for a while, but every time we've been in the area, the restaurant has been slamming busy. February is a great month to give it a try. There was no wait to get in and the front house staff was efficient and friendly. The food? Wow! We loved it. Everything - the perfectly fried chicken, the crisp but airy waffles, the chorizo in the burrito - was perfect. It was obvious that attention had been paid to detail and that standards were high. My one small complaint is that it is a bit tight and very loud in the interior part of the restaurant. I could not hear our waitress as she described the specials. That won't keep us from returning!“
“This place is a great place to stop and get some ice cream! The home made soda is really good too. The kitchen sink ice cream is my favorite. It's a scoup of all the ice creams that they're selling. Like mixed in one ice cream not you get a scoop of each ice cream they sell.Just go and have a great time!“
“Our family thoroughly enjoyed a hot, delicious brunch yesterday at Platte River Inn! The service was wonderful, our food was fresh, and the atmosphere was quaint.Kid-friendliness: Coloring books and crayons offered for children while dining in.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is handicap accessible and there is seating to accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility devices.“
“We ordered to go because it was about to close. We got into the room and one of the bags had the wrong order. The restaurant was kind enough to drop the correct order to the place where we were staying at the resort (met the server halfway and was very apologetic). I think the food was great.“
“Will definitely return here. Walk-in, order food, find a table, and the food gets delivered. The fire burger is amazing and everyone in my party thoroughly enjoyed their food. Very clean inside and some great wall art in the restrooms. Can't wait to go back in the summer and try a milkshake.“
“We booked a bed and breakfast package that included daily vouchers for breakfast at the Thistle. At this time (November 2023) the Wild Tomato is closed. The vouchers are good for any breakfast entree and a juice or coffee. Kids 6 and under eat free! Although the kids menu was only $7 including a juice or milk. The breakfasts were big portions and delicious. The Thistle is located in the Kinlochen just fyi! I only wish they offered regular half and half in a little carafe for coffee, not the little creamer cups. Service was so kind and responsive! Don't forget to tip based on the full price of the meal.“
“Wonderful food when we went there one time... tried 4 or 5 other times to go back and they are closed. They do not update their website with current hours or closings and they do not have an outgoing vm message to advise either. We drove there for nothing sooo many times. Won't be trying again. Wasted too much time and gas only to find it closed.“
