“We stopped on the way home from Frankenmuth. We always stop when on trips up north. Today was HIGHLY disappointing. I ordered a corned beef sandwich. The bottom bread was soaked, I’m guessing someone didn’t drain the sauerkraut. I pointed it out. Instead of taking the plate to the kitchen to remake the sandwich she went to get a new bun. About 15 minutes later. I said EXCUSE ME , she said she’s waiting for them to make it ?? It wasn’t toasted or anything what’s to make ?? Still waiting…she brought me a piece of bun. Now the cheese is cold all in a clump and I had to make my own sandwich. I could have done that at home. I have NEVER not tipped until today. Most was brought home so I can warm it up and make it properly. I didn’t hit DO NOT RECOMMEND only because over 16 years this was the first incident. The waitresses handling of it was very poor !! And it wasn’t busy what so ever.“

“We came in during family weekend at SVSU so it was a busy night - I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing the staff was. Our server agreed that was 'kinda skimpy' and said she would 'go yell at him for us'... We never saw a manager to flag down, which is unusual at Applebees, and will probably go to a different Applebees next time. We do like menu and the food, but there's an Applebees at every exit!“

“Yesterday was my 3rd visit, I've now had the #3 in several sizes, tasty each time. Very full and filling. The person who suggested I eat here compliments the bread, saying it's his favorite bread. I haven't experienced being shorted on napkins. The layout is convenient and appealing. They play good music here.“

I asked her if they had any for sale and she went out of her way to hunt one down for me. She brought drink refills without having to be flagged down and was just really nice. Kitchen clearly knows what it’s doing. Place was clean—floors spotless, tables wiped, bathroom stocked. No complaints there. Service was polite and quick (hard not to be when you’re the only ones in the building). Just can’t shake the ghost-town vibe. At peak lunch hour? Weird. Makes you wonder if something’s up—slow location, bad word-of-mouth, or just a fluke day. TL;DR: Food good, place clean, service fine—but noon and nobody here? Strange. Worth a stop if you’re hungry, but don’t expect a crowd.“
