“Decided to stop in at this Panda Express location and try their new brisket along with some chow mein, I really liked the brisket, tender with really good flavor along with the chow mein. The restaurant lobby was kept up neat and tidy and our server Jasmine has such a pleasant upbeat personality, just made our dining experience more pleasant.“

This restaurant is different than most. The food actually matches the price, and the general vibe of the restaurant is calming and comfortable. Plus, the serving sizes are quite large! “I’ll start with acknowledging that some of the reviews I read are very concerning. My experience this past week, however, was a good experience. The atmosphere was nice and nostalgic. We ordered warm sake, and the dumplings to start. The dumplings were huge and really tasty. We did the meal for 2 and got the pepper steak, and beef and broccoli and it came with rice, eggrolls, shrimp toast and crab cheese. I’d never had shrimp toast and really enjoyed it. It was cooked perfectly crispy and had a nice mound of shrimp on top. The service was attentive and very fast and accurate.“

“This is our go-to Chinese food place! Quality is consistent and portions are great- we always have leftovers for at least one more meal or a couple lunches. My husband likes the General Tso chicken and pork fried rice. I choose something different each time, but the Szechuan tofu is delicious and the vegetable eggs rolls are amazing. I’ve also had the curry chicken and the Hunan chicken, which are tasty as well.“

As a food enjoyer and having travelled to Asia for work previously, this place is as close as I’ve found in west Michigan to the great, complex flavors of Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taiwan, etc. Get in here and give it a try. “I went here a few days ago to celebrate me finishing high school early and I wanted to try pho for the first time. My friend and their mom recommended this spot for me try and I have to say I don’t think I’ll ever go anywhere else but here. The service was good, the pho was ABSOLUTELY delicious and I will most definitely be coming here again and do recommend this place for people who want to try pho or different dishes for the first time.“

“Starting off with the food, you can definitely tell it's cooked with love. This restaurant is one of the best authentic chinese restaurants in west michigan. The people who work there are kind and patient, though shortly after covid started they took away the buffet and installed a serving window, it's still one of the best places you'll try. The longest I've ever had to wait for my food was about 15 minutes and the food is always fresh and delicious. Not a single person I've recommended this place to has disliked it or not wanted to come back, in fact, it becomes their go to chinese restaurant. It can be pricey but their lunch special is amazing. The service is fast and above all just amazing.“

“Great carryout! First time here after moving to this small town. I had low expectations and a hunkering for Chinese food. I went with the pot stickers and beef lo mien, which was the most recommended items. They both were very good. I only wish there were more meat and a perhaps some veggies. I’ll definitely go back again and try something less popular.“

I used to go to other places in GR and they were fine, but Grand Lakes Chinese takes the cake. I know the moment I take a bite of the beef lo mein my day will get 100% better. I’ve always appreciated Panda Express for a quick meal, but this visit took about 25 minutes. The biggest opportunity for improvement was communication. A simple “Welcome! We’ll be right with you” would have made waiting feel much better.

Once Selema helped me, she was kind, patient, and focused on getting my order right. I needed a little extra time to decide because everything looked so fresh, colorful, and appetizing!

The cooks were working hard to keep the food coming. Pham, the manager, appeared to interact positively with her team, and another employee was moving throughout the restaurant to help wherever needed. Charie also made my wait more pleasant by taking time to speak with me and ask my name. Those personal touches matter!

Despite the steady customer traffic, the lobby and bathrooms were impressively clean. You guys know I usually do a review on the bathrooms because the bathroom space is important! I picked up meals for my elderly parents and appreciated the value. While waiting, I also learned about Panda Express catering and its community giving.

My visit ended with my bag being placed on the counter before the employee turned and walked away without a thank-you or goodbye. A little coaching on greeting customers, acknowledging delays, and closing each interaction warmly would make a noticeable difference. The place was clean, but the atmosphere was not so cheery because of the poor customer service because it was very spotty.

Good food, great value, clean surroundings, and several caring employees. A more consistent customer service experience would bring it all together. Yes, I would return!“
