“The Hideout shocked me, i drove by for many years and figured it was a hole/little bar. When I walked in the interior was very nice. So the business end of the review, i had a cheeseburger with grilled onions and it was so darn good I was shocked. I came back the following night it was so good hoping they could replicate it, im not here for the drinks but the cheeseburger! Once again the chef comes through with a home run. Ill be back tomorrow or the next day, its that good and its of tremendous value, im not sure how they do it. The place is a gem!“

Exactly as its reputation suggests - a local, family run pub with cheap drinks, friendly service and tons of character & history. Apparently they have some homemade (literally) food 1 or 2 days a week that sounded like a great bargain. During my visit a local came in with some fresh pies and I was offered a slice. A must visit for sure.“

“My entire experience was great! I ordered 6 oysters, whitefish pate, hot lobster roll w/melted butter, corn on the cob & a coke. All of the food was delicious! I have dined here at least 6 times & ordered different items & I’ve never been disappointed. Food & service is fantastic. I’ve never had a bad experience.“

“Have long known of their products but this was my first time to their location. I wasn't disappointed. They have a large menu of beverages, many made on site. Their staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Plenty of to go and souvenir items. Outdoor seating, occasional food trucks, and some snacks available inside. They even have theme nights for comedy or karaoke. Will definitely go again.“

The atmosphere is very chilling laid-back I love the crowd only thing I had a problem with was the way Security was checking people and he wasn’t doing a great job. “We first went to imperial in 2024 on our first visit to Detroit. As soon As we landed, we drove straight here for a meal that we knew would satisfy. The service is always fast and friendly ( ask your server for recommendations for food, drinks, activities they won’t steer you wrong). We opted for the taco of the week ( vegan chorizo and creamy), imperial Sonoran and tostada, as well as the nachos. We were all stuffed and happy. Shout out to Pricilla“

“Mackenzie's Tavern is a wonderful local drinking and dining experience with something for everyone. The owner and staff are very friendly and efficient in their service. The tavern has a very extensive seafood menu towards the end of the week like Thursday and Friday and sometimes Wednesdays. The rest of the time the tavern has a very good bar food type menu featuring Burger or some such. The only day that the kitchen is not open is Sundays when you can bring in your own food or have it delivered. The tavern has a breakfast service that goes from opening till around lunch time and the omelettes are huge and fill you up. You can watch most local sports there and the tavern features an 85-in TV that is surprisingly large for the size of the tavern.“
